Lovely and great place to stay! Only to be aware of the live music that plays until late even on Sunday.
Our stay was great. The location was perfect. The apartment had a good view of South Congress. It was in walking distance of all the SoCo shops and restaurants.
It was close to many restaurants and coffee shops. The kitchen was huge, comfy bedroom and comfy furniture.
Very disappointed in this unit; it felt like it was leftover and un-rentable. I have stayed here before and it has been wonderful before. This time the unit was extremely difficult to find and bring in suitcases and supplies. Several of the power outlets did not work. It was supposed to be a 2/2, and it was a 2/1. It was 4 people sharing one bathroom for 4 days as we were busy attending a conference together. The fridge door was on backwards which made working in the kitchen difficult.
The location was excellent. Right on SoCo so there were a lot of dining and shopping options.
The cleanliness of the apartment could have been better. There was a mildewy smell in the bathroom and some mold visible in the edges/corners.
Air felt stuffy and a little stale.
I just needed the place to sleep at night, so it was ok for that, but not the best in terms of amenities.
Property explanations was a little confusing as we where for wonder and it’s actually called Lola
I was surprised at how dated the room was. Everything was functional, the AC, TV, fridge, and microwave all worked fine, but the furniture was very cheap looking and old-fashioned, and the flooring was not very nice either. The bathtub had a crack in it that let water through, so you can’t use it for a bath only a shower. The sink was in the room instead of the bathroom, and the drawers on that were broken. The bed was pretty comfortable, aside from the pillows, which were too bulky. The ceiling tiles looked old and some had apparent water damage. It wasn’t a bad stay, just not what I was expecting for how much we paid..
We really enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient for us. Plethora of places to eat and grab a drink within walking distance. The apartment itself was comforting and not too far from the airport which was nice. Would stay Sonder South Congress anytime we are in the area.
Perfect location and very clean. Will definitely stay again.
Good location near restaurants
I loved the location of this property, the layout and size. It was a beautiful stay overall!
What I didn't love was the bathroom switches. There was only one, and it was way too bright. Would have been nice to have two switches, one that was not too bright. I also didn't like it's location only from entering from kitchen. No switch from bedroom. Wasn't able to operate the tv. Seems like an old fashion turn on would have been better than not being able to get anything to show.
Maybe we got unlucky but our apartment wasn’t great. It was extremely dusty when we arrived and they have compensated us as well as sending in cleaners however when we got back after the cleaners the bathrooms hadn’t been dusted. They are well furnished apartments but the decor is very tired with mould and paint peeling off the walls.
The good: great location, easy parking, comfortable bed.
The bad: gym access required 2 phone calls to Sonde and some of the gym equipment didn’t work, apartment tired and needing renovation, view of a parking lot, noisy neighbor upstairs.
The ugly: apartment was superficially clean but grime and dirt everywhere - bathroom, bedroom, kitchen. Dirty cutlery. The whole place smelt damp and musty on arrival. Sonder customer service really poor.
Stay elsewhere.
Fantastic location. Really nice beds and bedding. Kitchen seemed average, but we didn’t plan to cook.
Comfortable, spacious apartment in a great location.Even though the complex is located on Congress Ave, the apartment complex is peaceful and quiet. Plates, silverware and basic kitchen items are provided. We did have to buy vegetable oil to do some light cooking. Spacious balcony, big bedrooms, sleeper couch. Pool area has a hot tub which we enjoyed. 10/10 recommend
Excellent location on South Congress, quiet and large appartment with a nice view. Only thing to improve is the check-in process that Sonder requires you to go through - it is buggy and inconvenient.
Let me preface this by saying I have never left a negative review, ever. However, I booked at Sonder South Congress on purpose - to be within a very close proximity of an early morning business meeting during my stay. Mid-afternoon the day I was checking in for my trip, I was randomly texted and told I’d been moved to the East Austin property, which is not nearly as convenient as South Congress. In fact, I specifically chose South Congress for the convenient parking. East Austin is a nightmare. The unit smelled, the bathroom was barely clean. The silverware drawer would barely open. The upstairs neighbors were extremely loud. The front door of the Residences of Plaza Saltillo was not secure when I arrived - no key code necessary. The complex elevator sounded like nothing I’ve ever heard before, based on the sounds, someone’s going to get stuck in at some point. I was graciously provided a complementary parking pass which was logistically horrible; especially, with the added travel time I had to account for to be on time for my early meeting due to the last minute property change. After I returned the pass to the unit and moved my car, I STILL had to pay $35 just to leave the parking garage. I will likely never stay with Sonder again after this experience.
There were 17 steep steps to go down in the apartment. We thought "ground floor" would mean no stairs. Husband handicapped & uses a cane. It was a challenge for us. The apartment was very nice, near lots of night life to walk to. Parking garage was great. Everything tech - driven: gates, door, tv & more. Kind of cool!
Great spot right it the heart of Austin's South Congress District. East walk to all of the clubs, restaurants and shopping. Nicely furnished and comfortable. The only thing we did not like was that Sonder has no on site employees. We got back to our apartment and there was a malfunction on the electronic door lock so we could not get in. We had to rely on a phone call to Sonder to solve our problem. The customer service rep couldn't immediately solve it but called back with a solution for us in 10 or 15 minutes. In the meantime we were waiting in a hallway wondering if we were going to be able to get back into our room.
Comfortable accommodations right in the heart of the Austin's South Congress district. Quick walk to the Continental Club.
