Hebben het heel erg leuk gehad, Ela is ook gewoon een leuk stadje
Pros:

Locatie was goed, net buiten het centrum dus erg rustig, de eigenaar was ook heel behulpzaam en kon makelijk
in heel Sri Lanka vervoer voor je regelen.

Pros:

A very helpful host - he gave us many recommendations and tuk-tuk transport whenever we needed.
Very good, various traditional breakfasts prepared by the host (also breakfast to-go if needed for early trips!)
Very nice view of the Ella Rock from a terrace. Rooms are nice, bathroom is clean. There is a fridge in the room.
The host also offers a laundry service in a good price.

Cons:

There is no Air conditioning, only fans, but this is fine in that climate.
A little mold on the ceiling, but this is due to the general climate of Ella.
The accomodation is quite close to the main road, but last meters are quite steeply uphill, which may be challenging with bigger-sized bags.
Some insects in the room, but they are not a threat, especially since there is a mosquito net over the bed.
Payment only by cash!

Pros:

Le personnel était très serviable et accommodant, il nous a fournir des parapluies, et le logement disposait d’un mini-frigo très pratique pour garder les boissons au frais malgré la chaleur.

Cons:

Aucune fenêtre pour aérer la chambre, seulement une VMC dans la salle de bain. La pièce sentait fortement l’humidité : le papier toilette était toujours humide et les serviettes ne séchaient pas. Un ventilateur était bien fourni, mais sans prise disponible — il fallait choisir entre brancher le frigo ou le ventilateur.

La moustiquaire autour du lit était trouée, laissant entrer les insectes. Les murs et le plafond présentaient des traces de moisissure visiblement recouvertes de peinture. En deux jours, nous avons même vu trois limaces se promener sur les murs de la chambre.

On nous a affirmé qu’il n’y avait pas de climatisation car aucun hébergement du quartier n’en disposait, ce qui est faux : tous les logements de la rue en étaient équipés, souvent avec plusieurs unités.

Enfin, au moment du paiement, on nous a indiqué qu’il fallait régler en espèces. Après notre refus, une machine pour paiement par carte bancaire a finalement été trouvée.

Amazing local stay in ideal location!

Amazing family run accommodation, so helpful and great communication via WhatsApp. Did our laundry and dropped us at the train station on check out day. Room was comfortable and great shower. 10-15min walk downhill to town centre. Highly recommend!

No lobby area, room wasn’t like photos, no one to greet on check in.

Pros:

Besitzer waren sehr bemüht, dass der Aufenthalt für uns noch schöner ist. Sie haben uns jederzeit geholfen, wenn wir Fragen hatten oder Unterstützung benötigt haben. Der hauseigene Waschservice ist super. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Die Lage ist ein Traum, um die Nine Arch Bridge und den Little Adams Peak fußläufig zu erreichen.

Sehr freundliche Gastfamilie. Schöner Ausblick auf den Ella Rock. Ruhig gelegen und dennoch alles gut erreichbar.

Cons:

Instabiles Wlan.
Wie so einige Unterkünfte in dieser Gegend haben sie mit Feuchtigkeit im Zimmer zu kämpfen.

Pros:

Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Das Zimmer ist modern und sehr sauber und hat einen goßen Balkon mit Esstisch und Sofa. Der Ausblick ist sehr schön. Das Frühstück hat uns gut geschmeckt und wurde auf dem Balkon vom Zimmer serviert. Auf Anfrage organisiert der Gastgeber auch einen Taxiservice. Man kann dem Gastgeber auch jederzeit über Booking schreiben, wenn man etwas braucht. Das Hotel liegt zu Fuß in ca. 10min Entfernung zur Ortsmitte von Ella und sehr nah am Little Adams Trail und am Nine Arches Bridge Trail. Auch im Dunkeln haben wir uns auf dem Weg nicht unwohl gefühlt, es fahren aber auch Tuktuks zum Hotel. Der Berg zum Hotel hoch ist etwas steil, was uns aber nicht gestört hat. Dafür hat man vom Balkon den tollen Ausblick!

Cons:

-Beim Duschen war am Ende das Wasser "leer". Eventuell kam später wieder etwas, das haben wir nicht mehr probiert, weil es für uns gereicht hat.
-Es gibt keine Klimaanlage (aber einen Ventilator), was uns aber auch nicht störte, weil es in Ella nachts kühler war als an den anderen Orten die wir besucht haben
-Die Handtücher haben ziemlich viele Fasern verloren, was nach dem Duschen etwas unpraktisch war

Staff were great, very helpful and lovely. Good location - 10 minute walk to the main area but also close to the nine arch bridge start and little Adam’s peak. Nice and quiet location too. Great view of the mountains. Comfy rooms, nice porch area.

Cons:

The breakfast wasn’t amazing, but there was lots of food given to us. I would probably upgrade to the nicer room if we stayed again, it was considerably nicer than our budget one.

Pros:

Everything was great! The host is very kind, even prepared sri lankas breakfast when we asked for it. Helped with everything! Property is located in nice, quiet, forest area. Walkable distance do city centre (5-10min), and also close to Little Adam’s Peak trail or Nine Arch bridge! We had the nicest room - King Standard room and it’s beautiful!!!🤩

Cons:

There’s no AC in the room, but it was not necessary at all (we were staying there in February).
