The perfect peaceful Cotswolds escape
Pros:

- All staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to meet not only ours but our dog’s needs. Shout out to Kristen on reception for her exceptional service, assistance and recommendations throughout our stay. Our dog was made to feel very welcome in all areas of the hotel and received his own bed, blanket and set of bowls. He was even offered daily sausages at meal times in the restaurant!
- The restaurant, service, and all food and drinks we had throughout our stay were excellent - some of the best we’ve had in the UK for a mid-range hotel. Big shout out to Annette who was our server and made our visit extra special with her warmth and friendliness.
- The size of our lodge and the modern decor exceeded our expectations, together with the cleanliness of the space considering it was dog friendly. This is one of the best pet friendly rooms we have stayed in, especially for the price point.

Cons:

Only a few very minor points;
- The hotel listed in the facilities that there was a gym available, however on check in we were told that there is no longer a gym at the hotel.
- There was no longer a cheese board selection on the menu and felt this would be a really good addition, especially considering the great wine choices available and the possibility to enjoy either on the outdoor patio by the fire pits and in the lodges to make best use of the incredible spaces and the local produce.
- It would be a good idea to provide separate exclusive car parking for accommodation only, set away from patrons using the golf course. At busy times we did have to park quite far away with luggage.

Pros:

The lodges are pretty and cosy. Great for a quick trip. The breakfast was decent too. The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but not a far drive from Shipston-on-Stour where they have plenty of shops and a few restaurants too. They also gave us complimentary drinks as our stay was for an anniversary.

Cons:

We had left a ‘do not disturb’ sign on but housekeeping still came into the room to clean up. This was really unprofessional but the management said they dealt with it.
There are no tvs in the rooms if you’re planning to stay there.
