Pros:

The stay was rocky from the start, the staff was very rude. Called the front desk a couple different times with no help. The food isn’t available all day. When we asked about food the front desk said “you’re calling the front desk.” The staff ruined this stay.

Pros:

Great place to stay, but there is a club on top of the hotel. Hotel does give you ear plugs. Great scenery as well.

Great location, vibe and design!
Pros:

Matthew and Joymaka at the front desk were so incredibly kind and helpful. We booked a king and needed a double and Matthew hooked us up with double beds and a balcony! Joymaka was so friendly and helpful. Two wonderful employees!

Great Stay, Super Comfortable Rooms & Awesome Staff!
Pros:

I stayed at Aloft Buffalo Downtown recently and had such a great experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and genuinely helpful, everyone I interacted with was friendly and made the whole stay feel easy and comfortable.

The room was spotless and had a really cool, modern feel. The bed was incredibly comfortable I actually got one of the best night’s sleeps I’ve had in a hotel. Everything felt super clean and well taken care of, and there were plenty of little conveniences like good lighting, outlets, and a spacious bathroom.

One of the best parts was that I didn’t even have to leave the building to enjoy myself. The hotel has a great restaurant and bar downstairs with solid food and drinks, and the rooftop bar is a total standout, amazing views, fun vibe.

The location is also ideal, right in downtown Buffalo, close to everything, but still surprisingly quiet at night.

Honestly, I was really impressed and would absolutely stay here again. Between the service, comfort, cleanliness, and all the on-site options, Aloft Buffalo DT made my trip so easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Overated, over priced.
Pros:

Location. Wi-fi included. Parking availability. In room bar fridge nice & cold. Modern room. Friendly, informative, knowledgable staff.

Cons:

Wayyyy to expensive for area in city and for actual city, meaning no disrespect to the city of Buffalo, the price paid (over $400 usd for a Sat night) or the size of the room, i paid much much more per night in comparison to the likes of downtown Toronto or Miami.
Aloft taking complete advantage for the lack of competition in the area. Also, for the price paid, it would have been appreciated that onsite parking was included, in which it wasnt. For this price, NEVER going back.

Fine for the lower price point
Pros:

Wins: Balcony rooms, location, spacious design, comfortable beds.
The so-so: Generally speaking everything in the room and the set up felt average. The whole room had a stale smell like someone had smoked at one point or another. The fan made a racket in the bathroom and the HVAC was quite noisy as well. Sink didn't drain well - making me think maintenance was somewhat of an afterthought.

No place in the shower to put anything - felt very crammed and poorly laid out. I usually enjoy the aloft experience for business stays, but this one left something to be desired. With a lot of hotels sold out in downtown when I was there, the lower cost of this room felt appropriate for the value it provided.

Likely my last stay at an Aloft, but it's not this location's fault, it's more of a brand issue.
Pros:

We stayed here for an Outer Harbor Concert on a Sunday night in June.

First the good: It's in a good spot downtown, close to a lot of great restaurants and bars, and events. This building is shared between the Aloft hotel, a restaurant called Vice, and residential loft apartments, so you get the benefits of all of them - including a great rooftop bar called Patrick's Rooftop. The balcony rooms give you a great view of downtown.

Now the rest: I think most of what I'm about to complain about is an Aloft design that I just don't align with, so take it how you will. I'm a minimalist by nature, so I appreciate what this sub brand is attempting to do for Marriott with its basic and sleek designs. Aesthetically I think it gets there, but functionally it just doesn't work, especially if you have a travel companion.

The carpet free rooms are an echo chamber. There just isn't anything to absorb sound, so after bouncing off every surface in the room, it's headed right for your eardrum untouched.

The weird "wall" (that doesn't go all the way to the ceiling), acts like a light panel when you turn the bathroom light on in a dark room (pics attached). My wife said my 2am trip to the bathroom (to try to quiet a leaky shower), which triggered the motion light, was "jarring" it was so bright.

Speaking of the bathroom, can we give up on the sliding barn doors that don't seal? Or should no couple ever plan on having the tiniest bit of bathroom privacy or modesty when staying here? In an Aloft it's especially egregious, because again, there is no full physical wall separating the "bedroom" from the bathroom, so the toilet is essentially "in" the bedroom acoustically.

As far as challenges at this actual location: the shower had steady drip, which in this echo chamber of a room sounds like a drummer solo. The smoke detector in this room (1243) had a very bright, and frequent, green light flash. I travel regularly, I know about the green flashing light, and it's not usually a big deal. This one was directly over the bed and was overzealous. The balcony room is probably nice in better weather, but ours had a dirty coffee cup and a spent cigar butt on it. I asked for extra pillows at check in and didn't get them, so I asked a different desk person when we returned from the concert and he took care of them.

EV drivers, there's a relatively cheap ($0.35/kWh as of 6/2/25) ChargePoint dual charger on at the entry way of the 2nd floor of the attached parking garage. I recommend pulling into the parking garage first and then walking to check in. They add the $17/day parking fee to your room, so no worries about tickets.

The overall feel, location, and aesthetic of this location are really quite cool, but functionally, it just doesn't hit the mark unless you're traveling alone, with earplugs, and a sleep mask. Honestly those three metrics would likely make all the difference in the world.

Pros:

The place looks nice but the fact that they can't upgrade to a room that is most likely empty for me viewing it from the outside just so I can enjoy some fresh air while I'm willing to pan up charges ridiculous, plus their door room keys that they also charge you to use the parking ramp when you're staying there by the way which is beyond ridiculous I'm already paying $300 to stay here but you charge me an extra $13-15 per car. The room key wouldn't allow me in or out of the park and ramp I had to keep buzzing into the front desk just to be let in staff was very nice even though they couldn't do anything at all
