Staff too busy at the pub not enough time for the hotel

Cons:

The fact that I checked in late and had requested the day before that we wanted a twin room and also spoke to the hotel on route about our late arrival and was told the room had been made up as a twin. Only to arrive at 2240 to find it was a double room. ?

My second stay recently in a Marston’s Inn and a brand I will continue with into the future
Pros:

Room was prepared as expected, let down only by ill fitting curtains which had skipped the track and which I repaired and a non functioning ceiling light above the work station, minor but should have been spotted.

Pros:

Room was clean, adequate, and everything in there worked. No more or less than what we would have expected.

Cons:

They were very short staffed at breakfast. This is absolutely not a criticism of the staff who were working (who seemed to be coping impressively well) but they clearly had too much to do. Queues were building up, it took a long time for orders to be taken and food to arrive. Marston's pubs need to pay for more staff at breakfast times!

Good value for money
Pros:

Business trip, good location for this. Big and clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Good food at the pub. Friendly staff.

Cons:

Printers at reception and bar were not working so made things difficult for staff but did not affect my review or view of the place.
