Lovely big rooms with really beautiful bathrooms, comfy big beds, rooftop with plants and seating and a view of the volcanos, breakfast included, lovely staff, great location walkable to everywhere and many restaurants, bars, shops very close by, beautiful garden in the courtyard where you eat breakfast, secure with locked door at night

Clean rooms with a simple but beautifull garden where you can chill. Staff are really friendly and it is close the the best irishpub in town.

We really enjoyed our stay! Manuel at the front desk was amazing, so helpful and kind, we really appreciated it. The hotel is beautiful. It has a great rooftop and great places to sit. It is located very well to walk around the town.

LLegamos temprano y nos dieron la habitacion , mucho antes , el lugar es de privilegio , la decoracion y ambientacion son excelentes . Lo que no me gusto fue el olor a humedad que habia en la habitacion , tenian un humificador y esto ayudo mucho a sacar este olor para hacernos sentir a gusto , el desayuno estuvo bien , lo que me llamo la atencion gratamente es que a la tarde pusieron cafe , te y pan dulce para servirnos cuando gustaramos , al igual durante el dia habia limonada y jamaica a disposicion .

Mesón de María has the potential to be an absolutely top-notch hotel because the property itself is gorgeous, but our room experience fell short.

First, the positives: customer service was good, breakfast was enjoyable (buffet style with fresh fruit, coffee, and juice), and the hotel itself is beautiful. The furniture and decor are stunning, antique/vintage colonial style, and the building feels authentic and full of character.

The biggest issue for us was the lack of air conditioning. Our room only had a small water fan that wasn’t functioning well. It barely moved air unless you put your hand directly in front of it, and the air coming out felt warm, so it didn’t really help cool the room. We ended up sleeping with the windows open for airflow, but that meant other guests walking by could see directly into the room, which didn’t feel very private.

The other issue was cleanliness. When I pulled back the blue comforter, I noticed what appeared to be blood stains that did not look freshly laundered, along with some hairs. Thankfully the sheets themselves appeared clean, but it made us question whether the comforters are changed as frequently as they should be.

It’s a shame because this hotel is so close to being amazing. If they improved room cooling and housekeeping standards, this place could easily become one of the best stays in Antigua.

This is my favorite hotel in Antigua, and I always stay here when I get a chance. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the grounds of the hotel are immaculate and still have the original charm of Antigua. Breakfast was great as always,
