Lovely table by the log fire, where the dog warmed his paws. A cosy and comfortable nook which was perfect for Sunday lunch on a rainy day. The carvery set up was excellent and we were spoilt for choice on the meats and the veg. Quality, tasty food. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Turned up at the Oakley arms , no one to show you to your table had to hunt around for it , food was very mediocre, staff not very attentive.
Arrived and had a table booked. Waited around 5 mins and no one was interested. We then found our own table. Food was awful, member of staff didn’t seem to worried either. AVOID
When we arrived at 5pm on Saturday we went into a busy pub area. There was no reception to check in we were told to queue up at the bar behind people queuing for food and drink. When it was our turn we were taken around the other side of the bar where quieter. We checked in then was directed through the double doors up the stairs room at top. When we opened the doors the musty smell of the carpet hit you. The room itself was clean but tired with furniture old like from an auction with the wardrobe door not being able to close as did not fit properly. In the bathroom the lino was shabby. The dispensers in the bath were almost empty not refilled. The toilet roll was half gone but had a sticker on it. When I had a shower the water did not drain well, blocked drain. The view was over a roof and the main road. We did not want to go down to the busy bar and complain thought we would do it on check out. We went downstairs in the bar to eat the fish and chips was not greasy and pleasant which was a nice surprise but when I got my glass of wine there was lipstick on the glass. The third glass given was clean! Sunday morning upon check out we couldnt complain as there was no one around. We called out but no one. Someone else had left their keys on the bar so we just left ours and went. Would not go back. Not a nice experience. Oh and I did not see nice views as advertised I walked around the back to see if they are there but another building and a carpark! Maybe to the side the views might of been!
Lovely food and great staff
great place to stay
The room had recently had a new bathroom fitted which was lovely and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The food was a bit hit and miss
I found the staff very friendly and helpful. On my first night the weather was awful and sadly the room had a few leaks. I informed the staff the next morning to make them aware. Water damage is not good. They immediately asked if my suitcase was ok and asked if I needed anything drying. They then proceeded to move me to a lovely big room, which was lovely and very spacious 😀
Good food , excellent breakfast, an ideal base to explore North Wales and Snowdonia national park.
Nice hotel in central location
Fabulous stay. Beautiful room. Bed a little hard. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good parking for motorcycle. Food very nice. Lovely location.
Beautiful well maintained old building in a great location. The owners and staff were all super helpful and friendly. Food was very good, everywhere was lovely and clean and the room was very comfortable with everything I needed. 😊
My friend and I only booked for 1 night but begged to stay another night for their Oakeley Fest and they squeezed us in 🤩
We will definitely be going back there again next year.
Keep up the great work all of you 😃
Lovely hotel, suitably placed to visit North Wales attractions easily. Set in beautiful countryside. Very pleasant stay, lovely room, great food and service.
Booked in line for 3 nights to enjoy the sights of north Wales. The weather was excellent & enjoyed a very in the garden on our return from the days sightseeing. After which we enjoyed a meal in the restaurant.
Overall an relaxing few days.
Great location, could do with a dedicated check-in desk not at the bar especially at busy service times.room very very clean but dated could do with updating throughout. Breakfast was ok but slow service, one poor lad serving on his own. Evening meals were very good.we had a room on the top floor and there was a bad smell on the landing.
Overall not bad for the price.
Food was great but the room had no fan or AC and during this summer it was unbearable. We were in room 9 facing the road and as I feared it was noisy as it was single glazed windows. With Lorrie’s go up and down all night I hardly slept. Would I stay here again? No. However I would highly rate the food the burger I had was probably the best I have ever had.
Hotel is fine for one night…. Bed was soft, pillows average.. few things not working…
Nice hotel in a great location good food and nice rooms
Nice Hotel with character, comfortable and clean well appointed room. Only downside was the wifi. I had to relog into it several times per day.
Room spacious and comfortable with extras like tea/coffee/water well stocked. Bath was nice to have but also a powerful shower. Food is good although service stops a little early - especially on Sunday. Breakfast very good - all cooked to order.
