No real issues during my stay, but not up to expectations of a Westin Hotel or such a storied San Francisco hotel. The location is great, but the room I had on the 19th floor of the Tower was outdated (1990s vibes) but clean. Service was good, although long waits at the front desk at times.
Huge room and very comfortable and bright. The bathroom could have been updated, but was fine. Lots of food options and the front desk staff were fine. The bar staff was friendly and the food came swiftly. My only criticism was the hotel was so big and not enough staff to assist you
Staff were kind and helpful. The casual cafe on the lobby floor was especially useful. The location is excellent for dining and shopping. The steakhouse was also tasty and pretty.
It is an old building but it is charming.
Great location & an amazing restaurant.
Nothing
I've stayed here many times over the years as this once grand hotel has declined into mediocrity but my most recent stay was a new low. This place is just awful. The ownership doesn't care about providing a positive or even acceptable guest experience. The historic grand entry on Union Square has been closed to guests so that the owners could lease space to a new restaurant. They hotel entry is now a dark, dinghy corridor off Geary Street, adjacent to a bus stop that attracts transients. During my stay, two of three elevators for the Landmark building were out of service, with waits for an elevator of up to 10 minutes. My room (a Classic Suite) had an odd smell and there no robes or slippers. The bed was too soft and the pillows too thick and hard. Front desk was understaffed and when I went to check out the agent literally turned away mid-sentence to engage in a lengthy conversation with another employee, completing ignoring me. Note for Marriott elites - the policy here is now to upgrade a maximum of only one room class from your booked room, no matter your status.
i like the vibe of the hotel, it's gives out a nostalgic atomsphere. Especially the restaurant area,. (steak house)
We walked into the lobby to find a floral wonderland! Walking through blossoming trees and arches of cascading flowers added to the timeless beauty of the Westin Saint Francis. The staff is so positive and welcoming. The valet, registration staff waiters, and housekeeping each made us feel welcome and offered to make our stay a great one. As platinum members we were offered an upgrade. The hotel fee includes a $20 food credit and water bottles that can be filled at gourmet water machines.
Our room was a junior king. Suite in the landmark building with a full view of Union Square. The room has all the comfort you’d expect staying at the Westin hotel and the room offers historical atmosphere while being up to date with design. Breakfast in the Club Lounge was one of the best we have experienced in a lovely room. Great variety of offerings both hot and cold, in keeping with Westin’s wellness approach. Very fresh. We could not have been more delighted with our stay here!
The location is wonderful and the maintenance is excellence
The Rito restaurant closes too early!, 9pm, it should close at least 11pm, and later on weekends
The location is great, and we really enjoyed an after symphony nightcap in the Bourbon lounge
The hotel is understaffed. We waited ten minutes at the luggage desk to pick up our stored bss. The obey is also disappointingly generic. The old elegance is largely gone.
