close to everything
when check out they took the key but did not let us know that I have to use the key to open the gate. I got stuck and come back to get the qr code. but it didnt work I have to call in and they told me to go back but I said can they just open for me. finally they open for me. this is the part I dont like.
didnt have breakfast. we went out for breakfast every morning.
everything was fine. Staff was friendly. the hotel was clean
su oferta gastronómica hubiese esperado mas, en horarios, calidad de alimentos, menu amplio, y un lugar que estuviera a la altura que nos tiene acostumbrados la cadena
Terrible breakfast .
Wait for 1 hour to get breakfast after order. Starbuck charge me two time for one order.
Close to the mall
No microwave laying to park
Awesome location, there is a bridge to walk on to go to the mall
Need some updates
Sheets had dirty stains on them when we checked in, we requested for them to be changed but housekeeping did not change them for 4 days even with daily reminders. We returned one day to find the bathroom floor full of hair after housekeeping "cleaned" it. There is also mold along the bathroom walls.
The location is fantastic. We walked everywhere! The bed was super comfortable, the Christmas decorations were beautiful and the staff was very helpful.
N/A
Starbucks/cafe closed
Have loved this place for years. But wow. What a steep downhill in just half a year. New temporary coffee bar is a mess. Staff not showing up. Very little food options. I know it’s temp but they should have done it better. Also the new 25 destination charge is awful Gym needs updating as well
The location is excellent due to proximity to the mall
The coffee shop was under construction so annoying not to have access
Visited the hotel for 2 nights in mid October 2025 for business purposes. Marriott Bonvoy Gold status, and was ‘upgraded’ (?) to a higher floor. Really need Platinum or higher to get a real ‘upgrade’.
Pros:
-Front desk clerk when I checked in Sunday night (i didn’t get his name but his ‘passion’ is cos-play) was incredibly nice and friendly. Check in process was quick, and he also did a nice job explaining the hotel features, etc.
-Hotel lobby smelled and looked clean - but they had a recent flood/damage and a good portion of the lobby near check-in was closed. It was also very loud due to blowers drying out the area. This should be considered a ‘con’ in the review, but the hotel provided me with a small daily credit for the inconvenience.
-Room was clean as expected.
-nice (small) fitness center. Had all the equipment you would need, but the ‘weight’ room was very tiny. Room with cardio equipment was larger and better stocked.
-nice pool area that was very clean.
-Breakfast in the lobby bar/restaurant was excellent. Louie (morning bartender and server) was VERY friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, and the service was strong. A very pleasant experience.
-Has a very nice outdoor courtyard (that’s also covered) off the lobby restaurant. The courtyard is next to a fountain/waterfall. It’s pleasant, but it’s also very loud for any casual conversation or work to really happen.
-Location was excellent. Less than a 10 minute Uber to SNA, and right next door to Water Grill (great for dinner). Also a short walk to South Coast Plaza mall if you need to do some high-end shopping. Good neighborhood around the hotel for morning exercise (run/walk).
Cons:
-Hotel needs an update. Everything feels dated (clean and well kept, but dated). Old carpeting, dark/dingy hallways. Room windows were filthy and difficult to see out of clearly.
-Gym was WAY too small. Weight room with 2 people in it felt packed.
-Westins have so much variability with in-room amenities. Charlotte Westin gets an ‘A’. This hotel gets a solid ‘C’. Lack of toiletry items (swabs, mouthwash, etc). These aren’t deal breakers, but they are noticeable when not in the room.
-the entire room had 2 small drawers in the console under the TV. If you unpack when traveling (i do whether 1 night or 2 weeks) this is just not adequate. Also only 4 hangers in the closet. This may seem like a small gripe, but i don’t like living out of a suitcase.
-Room was decent size, and there was a small couch (love seat) in the room, but it was placed right in front of the window making it difficult to get to the window to close the drapes.
-Need more charging ports on the nightstands. Only had an outlet in the lamp base, but it was difficult to plug in the charger. The USB port in the lamps also did NOT work on either nightstand.
The hotel location, lobby and pool area are highlights. Would I stay here again? Probably. But the hotel needs a little TLC.
Very well.
Huge room. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and generous with portion sizes. Staff were friendly snd accommodating too.
Nothing really. It was perfect for my stay.
