Location, atmosphere, staff was wonderful & room was large with an extra bathroom.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was excellent, close walking distance to PPG Paints Arena. The hotel is beautiful and has character.
The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. 4 of us stayed in 2 double beds, no-one had a good sleep due to the hard mattresses. We stayed at the Best Western in Cranberry the night before and beds were more comfortable. I was not expecting this as the furniture in the room was soft and nice to sit in.
Professional staff, classy lobby. Rooms are solid, a bit dated but very clean. Great experience overall. Not many late night food options but that's expected in Pittsburgh.
The look and location
No pool
Beds are very comfortable. Location to everything is phenomenal. Staff are wonderful.
The staff was very friendly and professional. The room and hotel itself was beautiful and very clean. We really enjoyed the restaurants as well.
That parking wasn't included in the price for the room.
Literally the best shower I have ever taken. Clean facility throughout, very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Very close to PPG and in the middle of everything.
The room was very clean; the beds were comfortable and everything (refrigerator, tv, lights, etc.) worked.
Really didn't like the 6th street view of the dumpsters but understand that nothing could be done about that. Simply kept the drapes pulled.
We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2026 with our teenage son. We had a wonderful stay and were very impressed by the historical aspects of the hotel. The lobby was gorgeous and something rarely seen in hotels now- there were numerous photos and artifacts from the history of the hotel on display and it was very interesting to see that they have kept the lobby and other areas decorated true to its past. Public areas were clean and well maintained. We also appreciated the doormen. All staff we interacted with were friendly and competent. Our room was clean and on the larger side. The only downside for us of the hotel was that all rooms with 2 beds had double beds. We much prefer a queen bed for this configuration. We will definitely stay here again.
My recent stay at the Omni William Penn Hotel was a mix of positives and frustrating service issues. The property itself has a classic, historic feel, and there are definitely some bright spots—but several operational breakdowns impacted the overall experience.
Starting with the positives: the valet service was efficient and professional, and the Tap Room pub was a highlight with a great atmosphere. The coffee shop also opened promptly each morning and provided consistently good service, which was appreciated.
Unfortunately, there were multiple service issues throughout the stay. Dinner at the Terrace Room was disappointing—the shrimp dish did not match what was advertised, which felt misleading. Morning room service was also frustrating, as I was placed on hold for an extended period without resolution.
Basic business services were unreliable. I was given an incorrect email address for printing, there is no true business center, the computer terminal was not working, and the printer was out of ink upon arrival. Front desk support did not effectively resolve these issues, which added to the inconvenience.
There were also several operational concerns. The elevators were out of service twice during my three-night stay, causing delays. I also received a strange “phantom” phone call from the hotel number (+1 412-281-7100) referencing a situation that did not occur, which was concerning and confusing.
In-room, the TVs felt undersized for the room, which detracted slightly from comfort.
Overall, while the hotel offers charm and some strong individual service points, there are clear gaps in communication, infrastructure, and consistency that need attention. With improvements in these areas, the experience could better match the reputation of the property.
Perfect location within walking distance of convention center and very quiet! Lovely staff and lovely accommodations. Also palm court had some of the best Italian wedding soup, and that is saying something considering my father, nonna, and cousins make some of the best!
Great location, you will fall in love with this historic property. The staff is kind and willing to help. If your are there on the weekend, make sure to have the BRUNCH, ask for Harris.
Located in downtown, plenty of things to see, shopping, and restaurants. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable.
Location, cleanliness, options for good food, walkable location to cultural district
