A stay that fell far short of expectations
We booked and paid for a 5-star room specifically requesting a quiet, clean room. Instead, we were placed in a room right on the main junction, with heavy traffic noise every single night. On top of that, construction work in the hotel started early every morning, adding to the noise. If the hotel is undergoing renovation, it would be better to simply close rather than keep guests staying through it.
The area is extremely noisy and on top of that there are construction sites all around the hotel making the access very difficult. We saw disabled people forced to use the stairs to access the hôtel with no one volunteering to assist!
When we asked to change rooms, we were repeatedly told the hotel was fully booked — though it was clear this wasn't true.
They placed a movement detector (on top of a fire detector) that flashed with a bright red light non stop at night just opposite the bed! I have never seen anything like that in a hotel.
Staff repeatedly knocked on our door despite the "Do Not Disturb" light being clearly lit in red, and despite us refusing them entry, they insisted they had "checks to do." This happened more than once and felt like a total disregard for basic privacy.
Reception staff were unhelpful throughout our stay and dismissive of any request we raised.
Housekeeping was a major issue: our room was not properly cleaned, and the bedsheets were old and rough — hardly what you'd expect when told they were "spotless clean." Every single day, housekeeping sprayed a heavy, cheap perfume in the room. We asked multiple times for this to stop, but the request was never respected — it seemed like even the most reasonable requests got lost in the overall chaos.
Food quality was consistently poor. Breakfast was bad, with food that wasn't fresh — even the bread was stale.

In general, everything was really good: the bed was super comfortable, the little treats in the room were a nice touch, the room size was good, the breakfast was generous, the pool was clean, the water temperature was at the desired level for an early-morning swim, and the view from the room is breathtaking and exciting (though to enjoy it, you really have to stick to the window).
The small details were a bit disappointing.
The room is spacious, but it feels empty. Next to the decorated table, there was only one chair (and it was uncomfortable to sit on), even though there were two of us in the room!
There was one armchair in the corner of the room (I did not understand its location or purpose), and the shower accessories were uncomfortable to use. The refrigerator was wet and damp.
I should note that I received a redesigned room.
At breakfast, the cold drinks (orange juice, lemonade, and cold water) were served in plastic cups... Very environmentally unfriendly and uncomfortable.

שילמנו תוספת של 600 שח על מנת לקבל חדר שמשקיף על העיר העתיקה ובמקום זה קיבלנו חדר שמשקיף על בניין מכוער.אישתי התציידה בצבעים על מנת לצייר את העיר העתיקה , התמונה תראו משקיבלנו.
אני מצפה להחזר של ה- 600 שח.
Tout était très bien , l’emplacement , le petit déjeuner et la chambre .
La personne a l’accueil Omar , pas très sympathique , ne comprend pas l’anglais et c’est très difficile de communiquer.

Excellent Experience at Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem
I had a very pleasant experience at the Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem, even though I did not stay overnight. I spent time at the lobby bar, which has a lovely atmosphere and excellent service.
The lobby was very clean, elegant, and well maintained. A special mention to Karim from the lobby bar, who was friendly, professional, and made the visit especially enjoyable.
I would also like to recognize Ayman from Housekeeping for his professionalism and attention to cleanliness and detail.
Overall, a beautiful hotel with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent staff. Highly recommended.

החדרים במצב גרוע, תחזוקה לא טובה, במיוחד המקלחת מיושנת מאוד. היה לנו חור בתקרה שנזל ממנו מים.
בקיצור מלון מצויין רק שהחדרים חייבים שיפוץ בהול!!!
