I had an absolutely stellar experience at The Westin bar following the French Quarter Festival. Rickey (Food & Beverage Manager) and T (the bartender) went above and beyond to make our visit unforgettable. The hospitality was top-tier. I witnessed Rickey providing stellar five-star service not just to our table, but to every guest, showing true dedication and passion. T was an incredible bartender. Because of their hard work and welcoming attitude, I will definitely be bringing my next happy hour back to The Westin!"
I was there for a business meeting and although the hotel was almost fully booked Amanda was still able to upgrade me to a river view suite. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly,
After 21 years and over 600 nights across the Marriott portfolio, I have a clear sense of what this brand should deliver. This property did not come close. A room handed over three and a half hours (630PM) after the published check-in deadline, a promised upgrade that became a downgrade, no longer offering an Executive lounge, a malodorous room with budget-grade amenities, and a $30 daily resort fee with benefits designed for someone else entirely. At $300 per night, this is not an acceptable stay. The Four Seasons was next door. I should have stayed there.
Location
For the money, my room wasn’t good. There was hair all over the shower walls, sink stopped up and problems opening the door with key card
Rating: 7/10
My friend and I stayed here in rooms 2212 and 2214 (both "1 King Bed, River View, Deluxe Guest Room") for two nights in March 2026.
Positives:
• The location strikes a nice balance. It sits just outside the French Quarter, close enough to walk into the action, but far enough removed that coming back at night actually feels like an escape.
• Our rooms overlooked the Mississippi River, with chaise lounges positioned right by the window. It made it easy to sit back for a bit and watch the boats roll by, which ended up being one of the more relaxing parts of the stay.
• The staff were responsive and helpful, especially when it came to arranging adjoining rooms ahead of our arrival. That kind of coordination can be hit or miss, and they handled it well.
• The hotel bar is worth calling out on its own. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river, and legitimately strong Sazeracs that held their own against the ones at the Roosevelt. Not something I expected from a Westin.
• At one point we came back in the afternoon to find a bartender in the elevator handing out margaritas. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and had never seen that before. It was exactly as welcome as it sounds.
Negatives:
• After a long night out, I went to take a late shower and found there was no hot water. That is the kind of issue that is hard to overlook, especially when everything else is working.
• Beyond that, not much to complain about. For a four-star hotel, this is a strong option. Just make sure the hot water situation is sorted.
I would like to begin my review by describing the hotel and it's location.
It has to be the BEST location in New Orleans!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a river view room that
could not be any better. Ships and barges were fun and easy to watch from our room as they passed by regularly on the Mississippi River. Our room was super clean and comfortable. For a similar view, there is also an observation deck on the 11th floor which has a bar and restaurant that overlook the river and city. The entire French Quarter was easily accessible by walking or taking the trolley. Frenchman St. was
just a short Uber ride away for some great music.
Now, on to the staff.
Prior to our visit, I had called the hotel to get details and ask a few questions about the area. I had the pleasure of being connected to Guisselle Villegas. Guisselle is the Reservations Supervisor for the hotel. She is not only super friendly and kind, she was most knowledgeable about the city and things for us to do and see. She went above and beyond our expectations to be sure that Liz and I had a lovely time during our first stay in New Orleans.
Guisselle also introduced us to the best Concierge team we have ever found!!!!!!!
Daisy and Roxie ARE the Concierge Services team and booked some great excursions for us. We took a narrated van tour of the city, a swamp tour, and also went to the WW2 museum. Daisy and Roxie were also able to direct us to some specialty restaurants that we would not have found on our own.
The entire staff at this hotel is fantastic.
This was our first trip to New Orleans and plan to return soon!!!!
We will be staying at the Westin New Orleans again!!!!!
Rooms were comfortable and location good
Check in was poor and doors on the accessible room to the bathroom really heavy and doesn’t open easy
An amazing hotel in a fantastic location. Wonderful bar area, very clean rooms, amazing choice at breakfast & great food in the evening... however it is the staff here that make this hotel very special so here are some special thanks: Lets start with Phil at the main entrance door..what a lovely & very knowledgeable guy. Amanda on reception recognised us from our stay last year & truly treated us beyond our expectations - thanks Amanda x.
Special thanks to Brenda, Kayla & Adit in the bar...Kayla good luck in your training..you were lovely.
But thanks to the whole Westin team here in NOLA...brilliant!

River view was beautiful.
Restroom was not clean and smelled odd. Cold water in sink did not work. Bathtub had chipped floor. Tile floor was either moldy or dirty.
I know the staff thought I forgot about them BUT no ma'am and no sir!!! When I tell you I was treated like Westin Family...Bay-bay!!! I got the royal treatment while I stayed the last few days of Mardi Gras ending on my Fat Tuesday Birthday!! BIG THANKS and shout out to Queen LaShawn, Bonita, Samara, and Taahiry (or Taahira) for being absolutely TOP NOTCH and going above and beyond to make my time at the Westin a 5 STAR experience. The supervisor needs a PROMOTION, RAISE AND A PAID VACATION for her professionalism and dedication to providing excellent customer service. She facilitated a memorable birthday experience for me and my guests. Her staff is a reflection of her proficient managing skills and all around great personality. I don't want to leave out Brett from the Cafe. He made the brunch even better with his great attitude and anticipating my needs. I will definitely stay at Westin whenever I'm in New Orleans and I've recruited more future guests from me retelling the experience I had while there February 15th-21st!!! Thanks again!
