The roaches in the hallways I have a video
Location
The pool was closed for two days. The loud bed was horrible while trying to sleep. Absolutely horrible
Location was good right next to a lovely beach
Lovely pool.
Wreck bar over rated
Carpets in communal area dirty
Main area on floor filthy, most days after groups of kids visiting
Shame coffee counter shut at 3
What’s NOT to like! Location, view, amenities, pool, beach, staff, cleanliness and overall vibe was absolutely five stars! We were in the Beach Tower Junior suite with Ocean/pool views. It was spectacular!
Nothing at all.
Location
18% gratuity on everything. Not all of the services we receive merit such an amount. Particularly at the restaurant and bars. One dinner was horrible service over two hour to get food. Then the check was presented to me with the mandatory 18%. After a discussion with the manager who seemed quite put-out eventually covered the check. I wanted to pay for the food but not the gratuity. The issue I had was she claimed they were busy. That not an excuse for poor service when the waiter failed to attend the table(refill drinks or explain they were behind), yet others tables were served and left and new customers seated. Food when presented was cold. We will not be back.
On arrival at the hotel the lobby was spacious and very clean.
We did arrive earlier than check in time, however, reception staff were less than helpful when they advised our room was not available. We were asked if we needed 2 beds in our room which I confirmed we did not but they wanted to charge us to move to a room with only one bed, which I politely declined and confirmed we would keep the room we had paid for. The receptionist was not happy about this decision.
When we were able to check in I asked to confirm breakfast was included (as we had paid for this) and receptionist said no. I had to provide confirmation of the breakfast being included before she reluctantly provided the breakfast tickets!
In fact, any interaction with any of the receptionists was unpleasant - not a smile in sight!
The room and bathroom were pleasant and clean with a great view.
The only staff that were pleasant and friendly were the excellent staff in the Salty Dog pool and beach bar.
Overall, not the greatest of experiences and we will definitely not be looking to stay at this hotel when we visit Miami again.
Location close to the beach
Rooms were infrequently cleaned had to ask for towels to be replenished and no. To be emptied
Beach, service, pool, food.
chairs at the beach were included, but not the umbrellas $38
Other than owning a beach where the lounge chairs were free while umbrellas and cabanas had a daily fee, there weren’t many amenities for a resort. Yes, there were two outdoor pools, but many hotels have the same except the beach to offer.
Also, one of the staff at the check in desk was cold to us. When I returned to the desk the next evening to request water bottles that weren’t left in our room that day, he appeared to be helpful, but we never received them. I ultimately returned and asked someone else who had a delivery made immediately. Fortunately, the rest of the staff were kind and helpful.
Finally, the water in the shower was warm at best while the water pressure had much to be desired.
For the high cost of the room, food, and beverages, I’d recommend going elsewhere.
We stayed in the Penthouse Suite at the B Ocean Resort and I strongly recommend reconsidering before booking this room category. For the premium price, the experience fell far below expectations.
The most disappointing issue was housekeeping. On our first night, when we opened the pull-out couch for sleeping, there was no bedding provided and the couch had an unpleasant odor. After calling the front desk, we were told someone would come right up. Over an hour passed and no one arrived, and we ultimately had to go downstairs to follow up ourselves.
Housekeeping remained inconsistent throughout our stay. Beds were made and supplies refilled, but counters and tables were never wiped down, glass remained dirty, and garbage was not removed from the room. The following daywhen the trash was piling up and noone had to come clean the room, we had to request service at 2:30 to ensure that the garbage would be removed and the room would be cleaned. While someone did come, the kitchen garbage bin was removed from the cabinet entirely and never replaced. Even then, surfaces were still not cleaned.
In addition, there were several maintenance issues that are unacceptable in a penthouse: broken curtains in the living room and master bedroom, multiple burned-out lightbulbs (including in the master shower), visible drink ring stains on the table, and a heavily stained living room chair.
No one checked in on us during the stay to ensure things were going well. I also reached out to management afterward and received no response.
For $700+ per night, this did not feel like a luxury or even well-maintained experience. The Penthouse Suite simply did not meet basic service standards, and I would not book it again. It's a shame because the view is beautiful and it has the potential to be a wonderful experience if this place could get it together! Everything else about the resort was positive and perhaps I would have given a much better review if I stayed in a standard room and didn't waste my money.
