Visited Rydges Southbank for a weekend away and granddaughter's 21st birthday. We were very well looked after and Rydges spoiled our granddaughter. Very happy and very relaxing. Eduardo was amazing arranging everything.
Rydges Hotel South Bank Brisbane. And thank you very much to Declan Briggs, the Guests Relations Manager, for his welcome gift for me. We stayed for two consecutive years because we wanted to see the fireworks on New Years Eve again. In room 1020, where we stayed, you can see the entire fireworks display and countdown fromtheStar Casino. The room was very nice and clean and the staff there had good customer service. Yes, 100% RECOMMENDED. And we will definitely come back to stay at this hotel. 😊😊😊. Thanks again.
I always stay at Rydges South Bank and absolutely love this hotel. Declan, the Guest Relations Manager, goes above and beyond for every guest, especially those who return. The whole team is incredibly welcoming. My room was spotless and very comfortable, and the location is perfect. I’ll share a photo of my beautiful room as well.
Happy New Year to the wonderful Rydges South Bank team!
Don't bother going here if you have any type of schedule to stick too.
Service is non existent, valet parking situation is, they take your car, you ask for your car hours in advance at a particular time, they bring the car around the better part of an hour late without a single excuse or apology.
They won't care less if you're out 1000s of dollars because of their mistakes at all.
The wonderful experience of Rydges South Bank began even before we arrived! The communication and service from staff - particularly from Xin Jin the Executive Assistant Manager - was unparalleled. The location is perfect to access Southbank but also an easy walk into the city. We took this trip as a staycation and it was a perfect midweek break with our kids before the craziness of Christmas. The room was quite spacious for a family of 4 (including a tall 13 and 8 year old!). We loved having a balcony and enjoyed our view across the river to the city, but also appreciated how quiet it was once the doors were closed. We all loved cooling off in the pool and definitely appreciated it being outdoors instead of indoors like some hotels. We had a breakfast buffet included and it was one of the best we've had - the food was so yummy, really fresh and had an excellent variety. Can't recommend it highly enough, thank you!
Valet parking manager needs an attitude check. Extremely unhelpful and rude staff member. Valet parking is apparently compulsory even if not requested at the time of booking. $51 for the privilege of parking your car and limited access to the vehicle. No where to park your vehicle at check-in to unload your belongings, basically your given a minute to remove your things from your vehicle before your hurried up and your vehicle is quickly driven away. Rooms were ok but extremely noisy. Did not come across one friendly staff member. As a local will never stay here again will stay at the Mantra next time
Rydges is perfectly located on Southbank with walking access to all the Southbank facilities and easy access to the wider Brisbane (highly recommend the City Cat boats).
The rooms are reasonably spacious and there is a sumptuous breakfast with omelettes etc made to order.
Really the only disappointment was the pool, which is really too small to swim in, and it was rather surprising to see it closed for a ‘private’ event. If I book a room in a hotel with a pool, I expect to be able to use it. Along with it closing at 1800, when considering the Rydges, if you really want a hotel with a swimming pool I would look elsewhere.
However, for us and what we were doing (a test match at the Gabba), this was a good hotel in a great location, with helpful staff.
Elderly lady travelling alone made most welcome - and staff very observant and accommodating to my needs - the hotel is pristine, and breakfasts amazin. It was so enjoyable I have booked for another returning again in early November for another long stay and function while my long time friends still above the ground. I live in Sydney alone, and I am making this hotel my luxury home away from home, whenever I need to be in Brisbane - location, view from my high floor, and obliging helpful staff.
Great location beautiful view of the Brisbane city skyline, the room was clean and well presented. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The room was great for a relaxing night away from home. The breakfast buffet was great, the food was amazing.
Amazing place to stay, Xin and Team provided awesome service, rooms are spacious and clean. Great location, highly recommend!
If coming from the airport, get off at South Brisbane as the hotel is very close, also pre pay (online) for your ticket.
The hotel is within walking distance to many choice restaurants and quick shop stores.
The hotel is well organised with a large lobby and friendly, efficient staff on duty, there are quite a few trolleys (and staff) to take luggage to your room and if you are too early for check in, your luggage will be stored for you.
There is a licenced restaurant on the ground floor and serve delicious food!
The room we had was large and had 2 queen beds plus a divan that was probably just as big. We also had a lovely balcony with a couple of chairs.
The shower was hot and strong, and the bathroom not cramped, with hair dryer and toiletries.
It was extremely clean and the housekeeping staff were on the ball - I had booked the room for the night before I arrived in Brisbane (5.30am). So it was wonderful to go straight to the room and sleep for a few hours before my friend arrived. We went out to get a few things from the shops and when we came back the housekeepers had refreshed the room.
Once inside the corridor the noise level is extremely low and we were never disturbed by guests passing the room.
There is a pool and a gym and other dining options.
We were there for a Convention at the convention centre, so we did not spend too much time in the shared areas.
There is also two easy ways to access the Convention Centre directly from the hotel which was really handy.
Loved the hotel and was really happy staying there.
Something in the booking through the wotif app didn’t go through to the motel, I had my receipt and booking number, staff were helpful, apologetic and ensured our booking went through and booked us a room so we also didn’t have to wait until 3pm to check in. Very helpful, very friendly, and the motel was in a great location
Our stay was short so we did not get to use all the amenities but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
Overall very good, however one of the 3 elevators was out of service for our entire 7 day stay which led to long wait times to go up and down from the 10th floor.
Right across the road from Southbank Parklands, very accessible and easy 3 min walk across the road to Southbank. Very friendly and helpful staff and nice clean and spacious rooms.
Great experience, apart from one lift not working and another having glitches. The breakfast is a must experience- variety and lovely environment.
I highly recommend the Rydges hotel on South Bank for families traveling to Brisbane. The hotel itself is well presented, clean and professional. All the staff were extremely helpful and our room was handed over perfectly. Valet parking works well and the staff will also help deliver luggage up and down as needed. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The pool are is great, perfect for kids to paddle around and allow a chance for parents to relax with drinks delivered from the bar.
Check in wasn't available till late, 50 dollar parking not included. Charged double and staff unpolite
Great room lay out, excellent views over all great place to stay. Close to southbank and short walk to Brisbane and city cat.
