no es lo que yo creía del hotel
Nice quaint place, bungalows are spacious and private, very good service by staff, delicious food. The beach is nice but small and lots of sargassum. There is no cell phone signal and wifi is very weak, so you are disconnected from the world. No air conditioning. The hotel is 5 km from town and the road has plenty of potholes , 3 km not paved.
3 km from the village, this is a great hotel where you get peace and quiet. The road is dirt and bumpy, this is the price of being away from the crowds, but if you go slowly it is completely safe. They have a total of 5 rooms, so no one is guaranteed to disturb your peace. So this is not a luxury hotel, with hermetically sealed glass walls and 8-function shower heads, etc., you have to look for that elsewhere. The furniture is a bit old, but 100% functional and 100% comfortable! With a great and reasonably priced restaurant, there will be no unpleasant surprises on the bill here. We ate here every day in their own restaurant, and we never regretted it! The breakfast may seem a bit small, but if you need, can order extras from the a' la cart. Very nice and really helpful staff in everything. The hotel is right on the ocean, so a few steps and there is endless peace in front of you. There is a mangrove inlet about 1 km away, so it's not the turquoise water that welcomes you, but it's clean and enjoyable. There are also piles driven into the water, to observe fishing birds, always. About 1 km away from the village, there is a "small shop and camping", where if you buy, you can go into the area with a nice smile :-) you can sit on the beach, the water is bluer there, you can swim better, etc. people are nice everywhere. The only drawback is the many mosquitoes due to nature (we were in December). Baldeim would be good I recommend! Thank you for all, I hope could we go back there!
Maravilloso espacio para salir de la ciudad y estar tranquilo frente al mar
This is paradise!! I have traveled quite a bit.. this is o e of my favorite places!! The staff were so nice and accommodating. The food was delicious. The place we stayed was wonderful. Very very clean. Ver comfortable. So much privacy and tranquility. If you are looking for a place for peace and finding yourself and or romance this is it! The beach was outstanding. The town was amazing. Delicious food and unique handmade items. We got to see a tribal dance that was out of this world. Will definitely go back. You will not find something more perfect!!!
It was a horrible experience. Everything they say and show on the website is false. I booked it through Booking.
The road to get to the "hotel" is terrible, full of potholes. If you don´t have a car is even worse because the taxis are very expansive due to the distance and the poor road. Driving on that dark road makes you feel unsafe.
It actually doesn't have parking. There's an area where the manager (or owner) tells you that coconuts fall, so you shouldn't park there. You end up having to park outside, in complete darkness.
The beach is dark brown, located near a mangrove drain, and it looks so dirty that you don't even want to dip your feet in.
The outdoor furniture looks neglected.
In one of the rooms, there was a big leak from the ceiling. that flooded the floor and soaked my sneakers. I had to move the bed myself to avoid getting water dripping on my head and to be able to sleep. The hotel staff didn't even bother to ask me about it. They saw how flooded it was and the wet wall. In another room, there was a leak from the sink that soaked the bath mat. The staff disappears at 8 PM and doesn't return until 8 AM the next day, so if you need anything, good luck figuring it out.
We decided to spend the whole day at a beach club in the center.
The Wi-Fi signal dropped and didn't come back all night, and there's no cell signal either—you can't make calls or use the internet.
Don't go in the summer; they don't have air conditioning.
The concept of "eco-friendly" means = no maintenance, having a dog at your feet while you eat breakfast. The breakfast is very poor.
Sorry I didn't take more photos, we didn't want to waste time.
A positive comment is: The beds are comfortable, if there are no clouds you can see a spectacular sky, and the lady who serves breakfast is very friendly.
Staff, facility and beach location were excellent. Only drawback was the road to access the facility. To say the least, it wasn’t good.
Amazing food and drinks, and possibly the sweetest staff I've ever met. We already stay in touch on WhatsApp. I miss them and can't wait to return.
The beach was dirty with debris. No air conditioning or wifi
The staff was absolutely incredible. Very friendly and prepare very delicious meals. Too bad it was rainy so we could not take advantage of the clear waters during our stay. The road to get there was in pretty bad condition, it’s a dirt road with lots of potholes. The surrounding area was dirty as the sea brings back trash so a walk on the beach ended up being a short one after we left the hotel beachfront.
Maya Luna’s location and view far surpasses any other hotel. The four bungalows are in the midst of palm trees, feet from the ocean. I spent four days here and would love to go back anytime. The staff are wonderful always ready to help with any question or need and a lot of fun. There are hammocks and chaise lunges scattered around the beach to relax in Instead of going into Mahahual, I decided to stay the whole time at Maya Luna. The food at the restaurant is varied, plentiful and excellent.
Great place to stay if you want a quiet place with a room close to the ocean. Most rooms have patios with hammocks as well as roof top decks. Hosts are very nice and the overall service is very good.
Our family of eleven was looking for a relaxing day at the beach away from the crowds of the cruise ship and Maya Luna fit the bill perfectly. Carolina was extremely professional in providing me with information about the hotel before we ever arrived. She arranged for our transportation from and back to the port. She provided us with meal and snack selections so that we would be able to make our choices before we even arrived. The drive from the port was longer than I expected and the road was not well maintained in some places. But, that is not unusual when you get away from the typical tourist areas. On our arrival, we were shown to lounge chairs under a shaded awning. We had picnic tables in the shade of the numerous trees on the property. The staff was attentive to all our requests. The drinks, snacks and lunch were plentiful and delicious. I especially liked the pineapple shrimp and the guacamole. The property is so peaceful that a pair of woodpeckers had built a nest in a tree stump right next to us. My granddaughters were really excited to see them tending to their little ones. Actually, we were all excited to see them. The seaweed in Costa Maya is a problem. Carolina had informed me about the seaweed before we ever arrived. She did not want us to be caught unaware. And though there was seaweed in front of the hotel property, we were able to take a short walk down the road to an area where there was very little. Thanks to Carolina and her wonderful staff our day at Maya Luna was peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable.
We stayed for one night in Maya Luna and was incredible! The room is amazing, great location right on the Beach. Got to sleep with the sound of waves. Breakfast is amazing, a lot of variety and staff very friendly
