Dinner not available in the evening. We were told the owner was out but would sort something when he returned in three quarters of a hour. We went to the pub just down the road and when we returned soon after 10.00pm the place was in darkness.
Pub food was nice and the village itself was lovely
I don’t know what this is called a hotel. It’s a dingy bedsit behind a pub. It was absolutely filthy run down and rough It was so stuffy. There was dust and dirt everywhere the bathroom was vile
It provided a bed for the night where I needed it. The proprietors were friendly, but the B(&B) seemed to be very much a sideline for them. It was at the low end of the available price range, so expectations shouldn't be too high. Bearing that in mind it was fine, and did the job. I liked the socket by the bed. I liked that the duvet, for summer, was very light.
I didn't get hot water in the basin, after running it for a considerable time. I know I should raise this with the owners rather than criticising, but it was a 1 night stop, with self checkout. Consequently it maybe a 1 off issue. Breakfast, continental self service, was 'free of charge', unfortunately not completely set up until 8.30, quite late on a weekday. Noisy fans from the kitchen under the window, this doesn't bother me, but it would some poeple.
Staff were friendly and helpful, accommodation was exactly what we needed for a 1 night stay while walking the Avon Valley path.
