I like this hotel because it’s pet friendly, cleaning service by request which is helpful. Good drinks , and enjoyable beachfront and pool. Barb the hostess is very helpful, friendly and warming.
Very nice Staff...
Everything else, my mother worked there 50 years ago and I think nothing has been touched since then. I would like to to raise my hand to the ower(s) to take on a complete renovation of the entire hotel--please reach out to me!

NEEDS FULL LENGTH MIRROR IN THE ROOM...No handrails in shower...
The property was gorgeous! I love the resort we just had an issue with a few things that we were compensated for. The hotel had an issue with hot water for our entire stay. Also the rooms were not as clean as they should be it was hair in the bathrooms over the counter and floor. The rooms could use better lighting but outside of that everything else was amazing. The restaurants are 10/10 and the beach service was perfect.
Could be cleaner and use better lighting in the rooms
Affordable with quiet beach
Away from most of the boardwalk but that’s also what we liked. Didn’t like that there wasn’t enough towels for the family and the only day we showered there was COLD water.
Pool
The distance to ocean my elderly mother had trouble walking
our first night there was no hot water.. we were given a room with a broken sliding bathroom door which was extremely difficult to open... during happy hour we were charged full price for our drinks and on our third and final night there was no water at all at the hotel and my mom had to use bottled waters to get clean.. upon checkout we told the front desk about these issues and they were not only unsympathetic or concerned they were rude and obnoxious.. we have filed a report with marriott Corporate..
close to the beach
no hot water, under remodeling
after checking-in, we were informed there was no hot water, no open restaurants, no ice machines working. Never received any advance info from booking.com or Ashore,We were traveling with a handicapped senior and a young child. We all had to take COLD showers that evening. Needless to say, we were furious ,had to cancel our reservation and we were left to find new accomodations. I feel I should reeive additional compensation
Bars and restaurants right on property
No hot water for days - we left early and it’s been a week and no one will reply regarding our refund. I’ve called, emailed, chatted… it’s ridiculous. There was no one to clean the room, bring fresh towels or take garbage out. Room right by the elevator was not quiet - heard everything at the elevator. Construction workers were using same elevators instead of shutting one down just for them. Getting an elevator took forever. If you went to the beach the only access besides walking through parking lot was to go through restaurants and bar… people were literally walking through the bar while there was a guitar player playing dripping with water and sand. Even parents had to walk down kids through just to get back from the beach. The umbrella service was horrible, if you didn’t get there very early, you didn’t get one. Then the umbrella we did get flew out of the sand. We only went to the beach one day because literally four times that day multiple umbrellas went flying when the wind blew, it wasn’t relaxing because you had to continue watching that an umbrella wasn’t going to hit you. They said they provided beach towels, but they did not. The ice machine did not work. You had to pay to park at the hotel. And parking was limited. You were lucky to get a spot if not, you had to cross the highway.
The umbrellas and chairs provided for the beach were great, so was wahoos beach bar delivering to the beach!
The room was not very clean, our toilet did not work and there was no hot water until our last day. The hotel is still renovating and I wish it was advertised that they were still heavily under renovation. There was no bathroom for the beach or pool area, instead we had to go into the convention center area.
El lugar está en remodelacion y parece un laberinto
It was clean
It didn’t have hot water, the ice machine wasn’t working, breakfast was not free.
Location
Staff was horrible, have to ask to get room service but room still wasn’t cleaned. Place is under construction didn’t have hot water for 1.5 days was told we were going to be discounted .50% for both days only gave credit for one day once we checked out. Had to ask three times for bath towels. That’s the only service we received. Had to take our trash to the trash can by the elevators. AC wouldn’t go below 69 only ran for 5 minutes at a time. Never again. When we first checked in they gave us a room once we got off the floor there was no carpet and saws running. Had to go back to the desk and get issued a different room.
No hot water, no wifi working in the room. Resteraunt had extremely long wait just to take our order. Parking was challenging
No hot water, no wifi working in the room. Resteraunt had extremely long wait just to take our order. Parking was challenging. No pool towels replenished at the pool
I feel like I almost ruined a very special occasion by booking this hotel.
Starting with the booking agent directly through Marriott themselves, the pricing of the hotel room being booked was not transparent. Upon ending the phone call with the travel agent they were suddenly able to give me ~$600 off my total quoted price for the entire stay (8 days) which ended up being around 20% off right from the beginning. As soon as we arrived to the hotel we had endless problems.
Our room upon arrival had a horrible vomit-like smell to it. The laminate flooring by the sliding door to the tiny balcony had almost 2 inches of water on it. Dirty towels. Dirty sheets. No housekeeping. We had to go request towels several times and new sheets to make our own bed. housekeeping “only per request” but we requested housekeeping for about 3-4 days and never received housekeeping. Instead, they offered to move us into a clean room from a previous guest. As we arrived to our old room to get our personal belongings to move them to the new room, our hotel keys were deactivated and the new guests they assigned to our old room were waiting before we could even come back up from the lobby with our new room keys. Had to have the new guests let us in to our own room with our personal belongings with their hotel keys for our old room.
Never had hot water the entire time we were there for our 8 day stay. Received breakfast vouchers and free drink vouchers but were unable to use them since the kitchens in the bars/restaurants were closed due to safety issues due to no hot water. This place was a whole construction site. Power drill noises at 7am. Everyone was unhappy. All staff members were in a state of disarray from trying to appease all the unhappy guests. It was mostly crowd control/crisis aversion rather than customer service. Pictures posted online did not reflect the room upon arrival. There was a fire drill, and the water was not only cold the whole time during the stay but it was shut off for a period of time the one day. We were notified of the water being completely shut off after it was already turned back on. No soap in the bathroom. We were given a phone number to contact the hotel general manager, but this number was unreachable to do the fact the voicemail was not even set up. I know other guests at this hotel during our stay here had a similar or worse experience than us. One of the guests made statements about calling the health department during our time here due to unsafe conditions.
There were some notable exceptions to our bad experience here at this Marriott location. The manager on duty Andrew was very kind to us and helped us lower the rate we had to pay since we experienced many problems during our stay.
We booked this hotel solely on the reputation that it is owned by Marriott and it had really good reviews on several online booking platforms. I booked this hotel directly through Marriott, not a 3rd party booking website. We made the decision to stay here for my fiancé’s 40th birthday and to celebrate our new engagement together. This was a major life event vacation. This hotel calling themselves a “resort” is a major stretch. Upon checking my Marriott App for my points for staying, they are stating my stay was only 3 days when it was 8 days.
Overall, disappointed in the quality of our stay for many reasons, as listed above. We will actively steer others from booking and staying at this “Marriott” hotel. It amazes us that Marriott would allow a hotel location under these poor conditions to even be open to guests.
