The staff at the hotel are very friendly.
We booked a Superior Suite, and requested a room that was located at rear of the hotel to avoid road noise at the front. We received a confirmation from the hotel that our room would be at the rear, nice and quiet. However, when we arrived, we were given 2 options either the Superior Suite at the front (Room No.2), or a small double at the rear (Room No. 20). We took the smaller room hoping to sleep without road noise. The TV in the room did not work, one of the bedside lamp did not work, the room was small and full of eaves, even in the small shower room; we moved mostly head down around the room. When we checked out next morning, they charged us the Superior Suite rate. We told the reception lady about our experience, she said she was new and the hotel manager was not there; she took our details and said would pass it to the manager and get back to us, but we had to paid for the Superior Suite rate first as she was not able to do anything on the system. 5 days have gone, heard nothing from the hotel.
Staff were very friendly
We had a room at the front of the hotel which was quite noisy as on a main road.
Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was freshly made for you and what a choice. We had dinner as well , the food was plentiful and delicious.
The hotel oozes character, set in a delightful village, with a medieval castle and a lot of period properties. The bedroom was a good size, well furnished and nicely decorated. The breakfast lived up to the promise of previous reviews, with an excellent choice. Staff service from reception, to restaurant was friendly and helpful - we will stay again, the venue and the surrounding attractions make it a winner.
Nothing - limited parking at the hotel, inevitable given its history and location. Additional parking available nearby.
Very friendly staff. Excellent service. Good location.
Dinner excellent breakfast excellent staff just as good
Rooms were so much lovelier than the photos do justice to. The little things were not overlooked- face cloths, fresh milk, nice vanity items.
Had a twin room, one bed was nice and firm, the other was a little too squidgy.
Lovely village. Hotel well located by the river and surprisingly quiet despite being on the main road. Staff friendly. Restaurant looked nice but we didn’t eat there so can’t comment. Breakfast was good. Great to have a modern shower in an old building. Very welcoming of our dog - even provided bowls in the room.
We had a small attic room. Not a problem per se but window could only be opened a little and it was very hot. The fan provided did help but was too noisy to keep on at night.
Leuk en knus hotel in een mooi dorpje
Kamer langs doorgaande weg
Nice room. Lovely little town.
Very homely and welcoming It has a lot of character
The staff are amazing, polite, cheerful always willing to help with any issues or requests
Parking can be a problem especially when some people don’t park within the marked Bay Area’s but it doesn’t detract from the overall experience
Stayed here. 5 years ago it was very good then and it is still just as good now.
Car parking can be a problem.
Large food portions.
The staff.
The bed mattress room 4 needs replacing.
Warm water not hot.
Sash Window balance weight missing.
Loose toilet seat.
Very small car park.
Staff were very friendly - particularly Sam on reception who went out of her way to recognise our plight in being stranded and organising a taxi to get us back. A life saver
The attic room was very hot, even with the fan going all night. The bed was too small and the chests of drawers unnecessary
Always a pleasure to stay. Cosy room . Friendly helpful staff. Good food. Excellent location
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable with a separate sitting area. Made a fuss of our dog and provided separate towels and blanket in the room in case he came back from a walk wet, plus treats. Had dinner and breakfast and both were very acceptable. The fresh milk in a fridge on the landing was a nice touch. Would stay again.
