Pretty village.
Fantastic coastal walk to Alnmouth.
Beer and crisps in local pub a few paces away.
Then back to hotel for tasty and substantial dinner.
Breakfast. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, seeds. Then full Northumbrian.

The cleanliness, comfort and size of the room was great. Good parking at the rear. The evening meal and breakfasts were lovely and very friendly staff. They were always ready for a chat with us. We had to change rooms after the first night, which we agreed to, and it was all so easy when our bags were transferred to the new room.
Not a lot can be done about it but the traffic noise was a bit relentless through the day time and early evening. Nice and quiet at night though.
Beautiful traditional hotel with lovely staff and facilities. Our dog was welcomed and a welcome pack, bowls and blanket were provided for her. We have a very reactive small dog which we informed the staff about so they kindly accommodated us in a quieter area away from any other dogs staying.
Our room was gorgeous with a huge comfortable bed and pillows, plenty of refreshments available. Every member of staff we met was polite and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast and restaurant food were lovely

the staff were brilliant, on the edge of a small town with great restaurants and bars whose politeness and value for money and quality were brilliant, well worth a visit.
The setting and the proximity to the coast,
15 minutes walk you are on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world,
and we have seen quite a few.
The castle is of splendor and a focal point of the area, a walk to Amble just over a mile away is relaxing and easy.
visit the chip shop, excellent, don't miss the fish market, fresh or what, cod was so tasty. The Geordie banger, take some home best bangers for your buck anywhere.
The bed, the mattress needed replacing.
guests had used it as a chair to look at the view from the window.
everywhere is dog friendly, I'm not a dog fan.
Great evening meal and brilliant breakfast. All staff very friendly and efficient.
Noise during night from a fan or vent outside - prevented a good nights sleep. Bedside lamp didn't work. We did mention both these issues to a very helpful person when we checked out of the hotel.
Comfortable room though plug points hard to access
Plug points in room hard to access. Bathroom door did not close properly. Food offering mixed - risotto very good, fish pie lacked flavour, breakfast fruit salad mostly apple and porridge seriously undercooked. Unusually porridge was considered as a cooked breakfast.
No lounge area
Would prefer a comfortable seating area without dogs.
