Fantastic hotel for our honeymoon
Pros:

Beautiful property. We had a great view of the ocean as well as the beautiful swimming pool. Clean. Excellent service. 10 min walk to the downtown Funchal. Easy parking. My wife loved the spa in the hotel. Several min walk to a popular scuba diving shop in Funchal.

Cons:

Not much we didn't like, but let me try... Not the cheapest hotel (but we found it is worth the price. We passed by other luxurious hotels in the similar category as Savoy Palace, but we we concluded we made a right choice). On our first day, the room temperature was way too low, and we needed to open the window to raise the room temperature.

Pros:

Prachtig groot zwembad, vele restaurant opties, ruime ontbijt keuze en vriendelijk personeel. Korte wandeling naar het centrum.

Cons:

Basale sauna faciliteiten zouden gratis moeten zijn, zeker bij slecht weer.
Geen zon op de meeste balkons.

A beautiful, well-located hotel with friendly staff and great food, but inconsistent service.
Pros:

I recently stayed at Savoy Palace in Funchal, Madeira, and overall it was a mix of great highlights and a few disappointing aspects.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with stylish decor and a luxurious atmosphere throughout. Its location is perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The staff were consistently very friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience.
The breakfast was excellent during the first couple of days — a great variety of delicious options and very well organized. However, after one of the restaurants closed, things changed noticeably. It became very busy and chaotic, especially over the weekend, which took away from what should be a relaxing start to the day. That said, the quality and taste of the food remained very good.
The room was also very nice and well-equipped with all the expected amenities. Unfortunately, there were a couple of downsides. The shower pressure was quite poor, which was surprising for a hotel of this standard. Additionally, the daily housekeeping was mediocre at best. Even after bringing it to the staff’s attention, the issue wasn’t really resolved.

Cons:

All in all, the hotel has a lot going for it — beautiful design, great location, and friendly staff — but there are some inconsistencies that are hard to overlook. For a 5-star hotel in this price range, you expect a more polished and consistent experience.

We loved everything. It was absolutely gorgeous and everything we could possibly need or want was right there!
Pros:

Beautiful clean exceptional hotel.

Cons:

Most of the staff were amazing, helpful and lovely!
A few were somewhat rude.
