Pros:

There was nothing unique or likable about the property and was very hard to find as no body in the area knows about its where about.Asked so many people, no body knew about, even my taxi driver don't know about it. one shopkeeper who was only 300 meters away to work hard to find its location and helped me. By then it was already 40 minutes passed in search of it. Arrived at guest house, signed the register and provide my photo ID, little young boy was assigned to carry my bag of 10 Kg to 4th floor by staircase. Open the door,bad smell inside as looks like it was not air ventilated for few days. I put the ceiling fan on even though it was already cold to get rid of foul smell.Toilet bowl was in a pool of water due to some water leakage which i have to mope every time before going to visit toilet which i complained to owner who was on duty in the next morning and felt sorry for inconvenience. He told me, due to renovation going on, there are few problems but he will try to fix it by my next visit which may or may not happen ever. Room presentation in the Expedia website was nowhere to match. Few Amenties e.g restaurant etc as mentioned on the website were not their. In my opinion, it is a basic budget accomodation good enough for people visiting Golden Temple from village side not fit for a person visiting from overseas. I checked in at 9.00 pm and i was only going to sleep for 4-5 hrs and asked for hot water at 4.00 am for shower as i was going to visit Golden Temple by 4.30

Barely adequate hotel close to Golden Temple
Pros:

Convenient to the Golden Temple area, and with good WiFi. However, service was unreliable and my room, which had a window only onto an internal shaft, was very poorly finished. Twice of the four staff I encountered spoke no English.

Basic hotel convenient to the Golden Temple
Pros:

Acceptable, cheap and convenient place close to the Golden Temple. Good wifi, but dodgy service. When I said I was cold, a manager suggested I go for a walk in the sun. I had to ask three times for someone to fix my TV. ... When I left my key so my room could be cleaned, they lost the key. BUT THEY KINDLY LET ME CHECK IN EARLY.
