Nice new hotel, poor breakfast, dirty carpets in room, value decent

Cons:

Dirty carpet in room- white sock bottoms were dirty, and some other floors dirty. Very poor quality breakfast, we are elsewhere.

Pros:

Beautiful space. Spacious room. Comfy furniture. Desk space incredible. Bathroom huge.

Pool very small but kids loved it. Breakfast was terrific. Oatmeal bar. Eggs, bacon, waffles, muffins, fruit, various breads, assorted juices and coffee. Big hit, something for everyone.

All the support team were friendly, professional and informative.

Coffeeless in Exeter NH
Pros:

While the facility was clean and comfortable with updated rooms, the night staff and the hotel manager Julie were totally disrespectful to me.
I came down to the lobby around 3:30 am and asked if I could get some coffee as I did not want to wake my wife with the in-room coffee maker. The night clerk refused telling me he could not make coffee until 5:00 am. Although he had access to the hotel kitchen, and making a thermos of coffee was not difficult, he refused and told me to get in my car and find a gas station somewhere. I then drove 10 miles on a round trip to Exeter and back without finding a single open station. I asked again if he would simply make some coffee and was again refused. While I was polite and never got angry, he told me it was against company policy to make coffee before 5 am. I reminded his I was a paying guest and was not asking for much, just a bit of consideration, he treated me like I was dirt on his shoe.

I later approached the hotel manager and complained about my treatment I was told "too bad" while she agreed with my frustration she would do nothing about it. Again I was told it was 'company policy'. I called Marriott Corporate that afternoon and was told NO such policy exists and that the hotel was expected to provide guests with exceptional service within bounds.

After paying nearly $200.00 a night I think I'm well within my rights to expect better treatment than I received at this hotel.
