Good location in Harvard Square neighborhood
This is nit picking but the drinking glasses in my room were very soft plastic - hard to hold- why not glass? Everything else is pretty classy

Clean hotel with lovely staff.
Very expensive for what it was. No breakfast included in the cost. Bar closed at around 10.30 most nights.
Would've been nice to get that little bit more. No drink service, no drinks or meals offered, no room service, no music.
High class hotel with high charges but budget hotel service.
Warm, welcoming, extremely clean and tidy.
Nothing
We had another wonderful stay at the Sheraton Commander Hotel, and this visit was even better than the last. The newly renovated rooms are beautiful and have completely elevated the guest experience while still preserving the character and charm that make this property so special.
The front desk team was outstanding, as always, and deserves special recognition. Christopher, in particular, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensured that every aspect of our stay was seamless.
Graduation week in Cambridge can be a hectic time, but the Sheraton Commander truly outdid itself. The cocktail receptions, ice cream socials, and many other thoughtful touches created such a warm and celebratory atmosphere for graduates and their families. It was clear that the entire staff was committed to making a once-in-a-lifetime occasion even more memorable.
If you're visiting Cambridge, I can't recommend the Sheraton Commander highly enough.
Beautiful property and phenomenal staff…
Nothing to dislike…
La habitación era realmente grande con un salón recibidor, un baño amplio y la habitación con cama grande, las mujeres del desayuno muy simpáticas amables y dispuestas a ayudar.
Empieza a estar un poco antiguo.
My stay here was perfectly fine — it is easy to walk into campus and my room was quiet and large. Design-wise, it’s the sort of room where you’re like, “Who designed this?” Some lightswitches are hard to find, the sink is shallow and splashes, there is a bench under where the clothes hang — stuff like that. Also the shades don’t fully block light, so maybe bring your sleep mask. I also want to point out that the breakfast is overpriced at $30, and I recommend a pull-up bar for the gym.
Their "renovation" completely destroyed this Classic Hotel.
I have stayed in this hotel many times. I have also traveled the World and stayed at all kinds of Hotels.
The Comander used to be a classic style Hotel with 4 post beds and a historic New England atmosphere. Now it has rooms straight out of a Howard Johnsons.
Hotels worked hard the past 15 years to get rid of those god awful built-ins but the Comander brings you the most disgusting luvered door 1960s built-ins yet. There are 3 small draws, can't even store your luggage in the closet. Not one piece of furniture matches, not one piece is from the same decade. The lighting fixtures don't match either and can only be described as tacky. Wait till you see the dorm style couch and the "Free" roadside mismatched chairs! The too low to use steel drum coffee table is hysterical! Each room used to have art work that matched the hotels heritage, there is now only one piece of art hanging in the rooms that can only be described as seriously ugly. If you can get past the awful room where you can't even open your luggage off of the floor ... none of the mattresses were replaced. These mattresses have springs that feel as though they are coming out of the mattresses. At 5am, after no sleep whatsoever, when the sun comes up and the new ratty wrinkled drapes which don't keep the light out, please remember this review.
*** almost forgot the truck bench seat eating area.
The Sheraton Commander is a charming hotel with friendly staff, spacious room, convenient location and historical significance. I’ve driven by this hotel for the better part of 50 years but never had an occasion to stay here until now. Recommend it highly!
