We really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have spent more time here. Charming, comfortable and clean. Coffee and breakfast were delicious. Decor was well thought out and functional. Staff were friendly and efficient. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Compass Rose Lodge. It’s clear that every detail has been thoughtfully curated—from the mint truffles on the bed to the excellent coffee and sandwiches available on-site.

One of the highlights was the observatory tour. It wasn’t just a peek at the stars; it included a brief tour of the property and its rich history, including a scale model of the solar system with the sun right there on the grounds! This scale is about 13 miles long but starts with the sun. We also loved learning about the first ski chairlift and the family history behind the lodge—it really added a personal touch.

This place is more than a place to sleep—it's an experience. We’d definitely stay again!

Compass Rose Lodge is perfection! Just go and have a relaxing and wonderful experience! The HALO experience made the weekend for my partner, who loves all things astronomy, stargazing at its best! The guide was knowledgeable and made the experience so fun.
We went for an anniversary trip but we will go again just for the quiet and solitude! The bed was comfy, the complimentary breakfast was tasty, the staff was above excellence. We loved our recent stay at Compass Rose. The staff is amazing, every detail was well thought out and made our experience unforgettable. The hotel is cozy and comfortable, our room was spotless and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We booked an observatory tour as well and although we had cloudy skies our guide made the experience worthwhile and enjoyable. Looking forward to a return trip.

Best anniversary trip! The hotel is Quiet, clean, relaxing, with beautiful rooms and town. The observatory experience was amazing, and we loved that is was a small group with opportunities to learn and see amazing things. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We will be coming again. We spent time riding e-bikes and fishing in the area. A great get away!

Very friendly! Such a cute hotel! The room was great, went for our anniversary and they had a treat for us waiting in the room. They have a cute outdoors area with seating and a fire place! The observatory is a must! We had a blast and definitely would recommend!!

Unique look, very clean, friendly staff, quiet and peaceful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with other options available.
Our favorite part was the Halo Observatory. We enjoyed seeing the moon, Jupiter, Mars, double clusters of stars, and more through the telescope.

What a great place to stay! It is incredibly clean and inviting with a fun modern farmhouse/ski vibe. The hotel is located close to ski resorts and a few restaurants. The owner is very hospitable and welcoming! In addition to the observatory, check out the Ogden Valley planet tour that begins on their property. We will be back for sure.

clean updated room close to three ski areas wonderful complementary coffee and croissant sandwich your in house coffe shop. The grounds are wonderful too, with a lit gas fireplace and within walking distance of one saloon with great burgers!

The Compass Rose Lodge is an absolute and unexpected gem of a hotel. It clearly is a labor of love, and the attention to detail is evident everywhere. The rooms are spacious and clean, Wifi is fast and reliable, and a light breakfast and coffee is included. Snowbasin is about 10 minutes away, and Powder Mountain about 20.

Be sure to ask about the observatory. This is actually my second time staying there, and second time taking the tour. Scott is informative and funny. We had clear skies and got to look at a bunch of celestial objects.

Nice decor and aesthetics, both the rooms and the common areas. Really liked the onsite coffee shop.
