Great location

I had a great experience. The hotel let me check in early when I had a scheduling conflict and left me a Hilton honors goodie bag in my room. It made me feel so special. I also had an amazing river front view!

I usually stay at the Courtyard when I’m in New Bern for a conference at the convention center, but this year I stayed at the Double Tree since it was a bit more convenient and cheaper when I booked. But in the future I would go back to the Courtyard.

If you’re going to the convention center it’s a lot more convenient than the Courtyard since it’s right next to the center, but the parking lot is a little small for the size of the hotel. When I got there Wednesday night I think I took the last open spot in the “main” hotel lot.

The front desk staff were friendly but the hotel and room weren’t as nice as the Courtyard. Both the room and hotel felt and looked older and not as warm/inviting. The heater in my room was super noisy when it kicked on to the point I had to turn it off at night halfway through my stay. I mentioned it to the front desk but nothing was really done about it.

The bathroom was also on the smaller side. The rooms do have fridges (I had to call to ask because I couldn’t find that online or on the Hilton app) but they’re definitely “mini” fridges. I could only fit a couple bottles of water and a really small sandwich tray in it; even a dinner size salad container wouldn’t really fit in and still allow the door to shut.

Autumn and Karen are so friendly and made my short stay so enjoyable!

I told them when I checked out I’d never be back. No one cared. No one tried to make anything better. I used to love this hotel on the water- now I stay at the Marriott Courtyard next door.
I stayed there 4 times a year for 4 years and the quality slowly declined.
Rooms are not cleaned, refrigerator did not work,
Doors to balconies don’t latch ( at least more than one of my stays)
Cookie wrappers in the closet, no shampoo in the shower as the bottle was empty, only body lotion ( no soap) , one ice machine for 5 floors and it’s in the restaurant, and blue moldy English muffin in the drawer in the buffet at breakfast, and the last two times they billed me for breakfast which was included in my Hilton point rewards level.
Huge disappointment anymore.

I want to give a shout out to Autumn, the front desk representative. Not only does she have a warm, friendly voice on the recording for the hotel, she also displays the same warmth and customer service orientation in person. I had to call to get an updated invoice for my stay and she was very helpful and wonderful to deal with!

Breakfast buffet was well appointed, beautiful view, and pleasant service by Sejal.

Breakfast buffet with friends was great. Sejal our hostess paid great attention to our table and was very helpful.

Well kept facility and very attentive staff. Have had multiple events here and everything has been consistently good including the food.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Hilton New Bern Riverside – DoubleTree. The hotel’s location by the river is excellent, offering beautiful views and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the overall service quality met the high standards I expect from Hilton.

I would especially like to highlight the breakfast experience. The breakfast service was well organized, fresh, and enjoyable. A special thank you goes to Prajwal, who was extremely kind, attentive, and professional. His positive attitude and willingness to help truly made a difference and made our mornings start on a very pleasant note.

Overall, this hotel is a great choice for both business and leisure stays in New Bern. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

We hosted our Middle Eastern Province Founders’ Day event at DoubleTree by Hilton, and the service was truly top shelf. From the banquet to the restaurant, everything was handled with professionalism and care.

Special thanks to May, Shelly, and Prajwal for going above and beyond. Their attention to detail and hospitality made a special event even more special. Highly recommended.
