The pool area is very nice. Pedro is incredibly kind. He treated everyone with respect and was constantly engaged with the guests.
Beach area is nice with two chairs included. Pedro will give you towels for pool and beach which is perfect.
I will preface this by saying that I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels due to the requirements of my career from the low end (Hampton Inns, etc) to Ritz Carlton's but mostly Hiltons, Hyatts and Marriotts and their mid- to upper level offerings. I’ve always put Westins a bit above those but, sadly, not this one. We specifically booked this property over others right there up and down the beach simply because it was a Westin.
While the location right at (not on, it’s across the street) the beach is great and they have their own elevated walkway across the road and elevator down to the beach, the physical property itself is certainly not up to Westin standards by any means.
The staff, however, is well trained and very accommodating. The lobby and reception areas are pretty good but nothing exceptional. The restaurant where we had breakfast is reasonably good and overlooks the beach and road so there is some traffic noise which is to be expected. Breakfast was good but the staff seemed overwhelmed at times but it was the busy season.
We aren’t much on pools and didn’t and wouldn’t frequent this one as at the time, it was really crowded and noisy. The whole pool area seemed very dated to us.
What was very disappointing, especially for a Westin, was the room…….small by today’s standards which is OK which the decor and amenities could make up for but not in this case. The furniture looked to be twenty years old, banged up and out of date. The bathroom was also small and had a slated door so it was noisy. Our room was way below even Marriott/Hilton standards and, frankly, I’m surprised that Westin would put its name on this property. Frankly, we were glad to have only booked two nights here before moving on.
I met Diego at the pool. He was very pleasant. We talked for a while about family and few different things. I enjoyed our chat. It’s people like him that make a vacation that much nicer.
We spent a weekend in this super nice hotel, attending an event, and had a great time with people who treated us ina splendid way. At reception, at the beach, at the Lona restaurant (where lots of Latin American people assisted us fantastically!), and then Jocelyn keeping our luggage while eating and going to the beach! Very nice and pleasant! Thanks very much for being so attentive!

Always a great experience at the Westin. The bars and restaurants are always consistent. The server Juan Pablo at Waves is exceptionally attentive, kind, and professional!
The location
For what I paid, the hotel was underwhelming. You pay for the location but the hotel is extremely outdated and rundown. The amenities are also outdated and the gym was a joke. The AC has no heating function, maybe not expected in Florida but the days I was there it was between 68 and 35F. I stayed for 2 nights and paid over 900 dollars. That's a total rip-off for a hotel which was last renovated in the 90s I would say.
Combined 4 nights business and 1 night on own. Actual hotel is 2 stars. 1 elevator didn't work. Hotel is not updated. Shower head and water heat and pressure was spotty. Mattresses and comforters were nice. Couldn't open (dirty) windows. Amenities limited. No hot tub. Pool small and cold. Hotel food availabilty is extremely limited and sub-par...The Cuban sandwich was the only thing that I had that was good. Conference food excellent. Hotel room was freezing and not adjustable. A man entered my room when I was in there. A beach attendant tried to take away my lounge when I was there less than an hour, even though my drink, towels, and shirt were on the lounge. It was poorly run and uncomfortable experience that I would not repeat. Yes, proximity to the beach is nice, but that there is a gang tag on the elevator...hard pass.

had the most beautiful solo stay at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, and it was exactly what I needed.
From the moment I arrived, David at the front desk set the tone. He was warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating while helping me get checked in. He made the entire arrival process seamless and was always available whenever I had questions. It’s rare to encounter someone who makes you feel both taken care of and completely at ease — David did exactly that.
One of the absolute highlights of my stay was the 6 a.m. sunrise spin class overlooking the beach. Waking up that early on vacation might sound ambitious, but it was 100% worth it. Watching the sun rise over the ocean while riding was such an energizing and grounding way to start the day. If you’re even considering it — do it.
The resort itself offers so many great amenities — beautiful beach access, relaxing spaces to unwind, and everything you need to truly reset. For a solo trip focused on rest and restoration, it absolutely delivered. I left feeling refreshed, clear, and recharged.
I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful yet elevated beach stay.
After returning from a cruise to Panama we decided to add one more day at our favorite hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate as we caught a day of stormy weather. Fortunately there was another Stirme inside the hotel who is always like a ray of sunshine.
Storme is the lone employee who we always look forward to seeing whenever we return to the Westin at Fort Lauderdale Beach. His caring manner & affable personality always shine through whenever we arrive. He never fails to leave us with a memorable trip at the Westin. Keep up the great work!’👍

As soon as I pulled into valet, I needed assistance with my bags and conference materials. Storme was prompt and assisted me with my boxes and dropped them off at my conference location and then was kind enough to bring my luggage up to my room.
He’s one of a kind and customer service is his top priority.
