My recent stay at ITC Maurya was deeply disappointing and nowhere close to the “luxury collection” experience the hotel aggressively markets itself as. What was supposed to be a premium stay turned into an exhausting and frustrating experience that felt like a complete waste of money.

From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the hotel had taken on far more guests than it was capable of handling. Despite paying for one of the highest room categories available, we were repeatedly shuffled from one restaurant and lounge to another just to find a table for three — whether for breakfast, evening snacks, or dinner. For a property positioning itself as a five-star luxury hotel, the level of chaos and disorganization was honestly shocking.

The service throughout the stay was appalling. The staff and front desk personnel were dismissive, indifferent, and at times outright rude. Every basic request was met with the attitude that they were doing us a favour, rather than providing services we had already paid a premium for. Hospitality was completely absent.

The room itself was equally underwhelming. We were allotted a room facing ongoing construction work, with the entire outside view blocked. Instead of a relaxing luxury experience, we woke up to noise and an unpleasant atmosphere. To make matters worse, the television wasn’t even a smart TV — something that is standard in most decent hotels today — and only had a basic DishTV connection with constant issues related to settings and volume control. These may sound like small things individually, but together they reflected how outdated and poorly maintained the property actually is.

The breakfast experience was perhaps the final straw. The buffet counters were poorly maintained, messy, and frequently left empty without timely refills. Basic food items were unavailable for long periods, and even regular made-to-order requests took an unreasonable amount of time. The attached pictures speak for themselves — this is not what anyone expects from a hotel claiming to offer world-class luxury hospitality. What made it worse was seeing several other guests around us visibly frustrated and complaining about similar issues.

Overall, this stay was an extremely disappointing experience and far below the standards expected from a hotel of this reputation and price point. I would never recommend this property to anyone looking for a genuine luxury stay in Delhi. There are far better managed hotels in the city that offer significantly better service, professionalism, and value for money.

Traditional atmosphere and excellent service. The food is also very good. However, the bar feels too crowded and could be improved. The lounge on the 16th floor should be a bit more welcoming, and it would be great to offer a complimentary happy hour for elite guests in the lounge. Other than that, everything is excellent. Annapurna especially deserves praise for her proactiveness and kindness.
