Good place to stay

I recently stayed at Welcomhotels by ITC, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations for a reputed brand. The cleanliness standards were very disappointing. I noticed a cockroach in the breakfast area, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this level. To make matters worse, I found hair in the food served, which raised further concerns about hygiene. The bathroom was also poorly maintained and had a persistent stinky odor, making the stay quite uncomfortable.
Overall, I would rate the property around 2–3 stars at best. The hotel has potential, but unless serious improvements are made in cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance, it’s hard to recommend.

Staff is extremely courteous

The hotel was nearly renovated, and so the facilities were clean and excellent. The service was excellent, but the quality of food could be improved. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we would come again.

Had a wonderful experience. Well maintained hotel in a prime location with highly professional staff. Really loved their breakfast buffet with lot of authentic south food. Their room service response time is top notch.

Very clean, luxurious and a great experience

We had organized a baby shower at the Mandapam hall at the Welcomhotel and the service and organisation was impeccable. Manager Thameen and Banqueting Manager Madhan were extremely helpful and made the event a great success. The food was amazing and Chef Azmatullah was very pleasant and catered to all our needs. Everyone at the event appreciated the food and every single dish hit the spot. We are thankful to the entire team for all their service and help. Special mention to Sri Venkatesh for coordinating our booking. Will definitely recommend this hotel and their banqueting service to everyone.

Nice property but not as nice as the Leela palace where I was prior for the same price

Without checking with us for our need of non-smoking rooms, we were provided rooms in a smoking floor. We clearly sensed the rooms were over perfumed to mask smoking odors. Receptionists lied to us that the floor is non-smoking, in spite of asking multiple times. And could not change the room immediately. Next day, the room service folks confirmed that it is a smoking floor. For 2 nights, we suffered the smoking odors. No service came in when we requested that somehow the odors be removed. And while checkout, while they said they are sorry, did not offer refunds while asked. Offered some points which I found not useful. Will not stay there in the future and would avoid it. Do not recommend it for families. Very insincere room allocation and lying to mask their mistake is not professional.

Had a wonderful experience at the banquet hall in Welcomhotel by ITC. The venue was elegant, the staff were professional, and the food was excellent. Everything was well-organized by Madhan and his team also had a hassle-free event. Highly recommended for any special occasion!

Was very pleased with the service, attitude and efficiency of the staff.
Special mention must be given to the Manager , Ms. Ila Prabhu, and her team led by Brinda, , Kennedy, Keith and a host of others.

My mother, daughters and I enjoyed our stay thoroughly at the newly refurbished Welcomhotel, Cathedral rd, Chennai. The rooms, bathrooms were upgraded with well appointed modern amenities and beautiful decor. The food was absolutely delicious - all different types of cuisines - from the dosai to pastas to bisi bele baath to the Bohri daawat. It was a superb trip for my family. Everything was perfect!! Keith from Cafe Marina was very attentive as was the gracious and statesque General Manager, Ila Prabhu. The staff was courteous and well trained!! Can't expect anything less from Welcomgroup!
