Top hospitality
Pros:

I’ve stayed at the Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel for the past three years while attending an annual program, and the staff are the reason I look forward to coming back.

From early morning breakfast to evening drinks and appetizers, the team consistently greets guests with warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality. It’s especially impressive to see many of the same friendly faces each year who clearly take pride in making guests feel welcome.

Special recognition to Sharon, Teresa, Jackie, Margaret, Junetta, Taneka, Tina, and Chef Rodney for their outstanding service and positive energy. They truly elevate the experience.
The rooms have also been updated over the past year, and with renovations still underway, I’m looking forward to seeing the finished results on my next visit.

Great people make all the difference here.

Great service and experience
Pros:

I stayed at the Sheraton for a week long leadership education at Wharton. Right from check in to checkout my experience was great. I was fasting during this time and requested the hotel for breakfast to be provided early which they did every single day. When I came back from school, my box was ready. Especially Nezha was awesome with the service. She was very polite and helpful. Five stars to Nezha and Sheraton. Highly recommend this place.

Above and beyond best staff
Pros:

We stayed for a squash tournament in February and had the BEST service and hospitality from Jackie, Margaret and Teresa. Also on there was an older woman w short hair working the lobby the morning of feb 20 who was AMAZING and had such a positive attitude- I travel a lot for work and pleasure and has stayed at 4 and 5-star hotels many of them do not have as friendly enthusiastic staff as this place. PLEASE honor these ladies with a raise/bonus. They remember my name, go the extra mile, and make guests feel at home and that they are happy to be there with us. This is often a reflection on management so kudos to you too.

Thank you!

University City Splendor!
Pros:

As a former Marriott Titanium Elite / Lifetime Platinum Elite, I made a reservation using my Marriott Bonvoy points for a two (2) night stay in late February 2026 / early March 2026 at the Sheraton Philadelphia University City, which is located adjacent to the University of Pennsylvania campus, such my mother-in-law would be able visit her granddaughter, who started her freshman year at the University of Pennsylvania in August 2025.

This is our fourth stay at this property, with our prior three visits totaling twelve (12) nights in June 2023, August 2023 and October 2025, respectively. You can view all three of my previous Five (5) Star Trip Advisor Reviews as well as numerous photos for our prior stays here on Trip Advisor.

Our fourth visit to the Sheraton Philadelphia University City did not disappoint, notwithstanding the extensive renovations that are ongoing at the hotel at this time. The renovations have been undertaken in phases, so the upper floors, where we stayed, as well as the Club Lounge on the 20th floor, are finished and everything is sparkly and new! That said, these noises associated with these renovations are not too extreme and they only occur during regular business hours (not too early or not too late). From what I can see, the renovations are extensive but definitely moving along as scheduled and should be completed within the next few months.

As always, I want to thank both Nicole A. Ramamurthy, Hotel Manager as well as Chris Beck, Senior Rooms Division Manager for their hospitality and generosity by upgrading us to a fully-renovated King Club Suite on the 20th floor, this time with a view of Drexel University and Center City Philadelphia as opposed to a view of the University of Pennsylvania, which we had during our three prior stays. Despite the fact that our entire stay was over the weekend, it was a pleasure to be able to say hello to Ms. Ramamurthy, who was working over the weekend, which is exceedingly rare for a Hotel Manager. This is but one example of the overriding commitment to stellar customer service at all levels.

Our King Club Suite was fully-renovated and beautiful and absolutely perfect for our stay. We were provided daily housekeeping services, including extra towels, replenished bath products and several bottles of water daily. Further, the cleanliness of our King Club Suite was exemplary and for this we want to recognize the entire housekeeping staff. The complimentary Wi-Fi provided to us as Marriott Bonvoy elite guests was excellent throughout the entire hotel. Finally, the fitness center has been temporarily located to one of the spacious conference rooms, so working out there was a real joy!

As my Marriott Bonvoy elite amenity, we enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet at the Club Lounge throughout the duration of our stay. The Club Lounge is staffed by Jackie, Margaret and Teresa, who remembered us very well from our prior three stays, so whenever you enter the Club Lounge, be prepared to be greeted by a chorus of “Good Mornings” by this wonderful trio, all of whom work incredibly hard to make sure that the breakfast buffet is regularly restocked and all of the tables are bussed and cleaned. The Club Lounge truly felt like a home away from home due to this terrific trio, who along with Chef Rodney and his excellent cuisine, just elevated each morning beyond words! I want to publicly thank Jackie, Margaret and Teresa for their commitment to exemplary customer service and for showing such a sincere interest in all of the guests of the Club Lounge.

The generosity and hospitality shown by Ms. Ramamurthy and Mr. Beck and their team throughout our stay was extraordinary. Every team member with whom we came in contact during our stay, including Chris Santiago at the front desk, the Club Lounge staff as well as the house-keeping staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Not surprisingly, the notable customer service that we received before and during our stay as well as the incredible accommodations in our King Club Suite, made this hotel a twelve out of ten in our book!

Congratulations to Ms. Ramamurthy and Mr. Beck at the Sheraton Philadelphia University City for assembling such a great team and leading them with an overriding goal of excellent customer service and stellar accommodations. You will be well served by selecting this centrally located hotel for your base of operations in and around the University City area, especially if you are a Marriott Platinum elite or higher for the full access to the Club Lounge. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed!

Great Service and Staff!
Pros:

The staff was incredibly helpful! Nezha L. helped me book an extended stay and went out of her was to assist me. Others were also very helpful! It was greatly appreciated! We were there for a CHOP/medical visit and making things easy for us helped a great deal especially after our original appointment was cancelled due to the recent blizzard.

Thank you, Ty!
Pros:

My husband and I came from Virginia at the drop of the dime when our doctors told us our twin girls in utero urgently needed come to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's fetal surgeons.

There was confusion over parking, but Ty at the front desk of the Sheraton University City was a saint and helped us sort out the issue. From the moment I approached him, he listened attentively and quickly remedied the issue. I have been so stressed about my babies, but Ty made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of while we stayed here. I would absolutely stay here again.

Construction almost done - best to wait
Pros:

I would wait until construction is done (est. April) as there is no lobby at all during construction which makes check-in crowded and a little stressful. My room wasn't available at check-in, the link to the app wasn't working (so I did not receive a couple of things sent via app) and I got trapped in the elevator on check-in.
With all that said, the staff was extremely friendly and nice at the front desk and the club level. Particular shout out to Ty at the front desk - after the horrible check-in experience, he comped my parking and my dinner and even went to retrieve it and deliver it to me because I was too scared to take the elevator after being trapped in it. Thank you Ty!

Warm welcome in the city of brotherly love
Pros:

I got a nice warm welcome in the city of brotherly love by Mr. Tyrae Thomas and his team. Not only did Mr. Thomas share a list of recommended restaurants with me but he went out of his way to help me by suggesting back-up restaurants as I was headed out for dinner late in the evening. This hotel is conveniently located near Univ Pennsylvania and Drexel Univ- as well as a quick walk to downtown. It's a block away from public transportation for a quick ride to Independence Square. This hotel also has a nice gym set up in a banquet room as there is currently construction. I stayed on the 16th floor, had a wonderful view, and wasn't bothered by construction noise. My room was clean and classy, I would definitely stay here again. The team was also courteous and helpful-- keeping my multiple bags after check out as I didn't fly out until mid afternoon. Big thanks to Mr. Thomas for spreading good vibes at this Philadelphia Sheraton!

Clean, convenient and great customer service
Pros:

We arrived a day early due to an incoming blizzard. We contacted the property and spoke with Ty who went out of his way to ensure we had a room when arrived after a very stressful travel day. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The hotel was clean and quiet despite construction upgrades. It is very convenient and a short Uber ride to CHOP which was our reason for visiting. Thank you Ty for making a very stressful situation better!

Pros:

I very much enjoyed the conference held by Campus Apartments of Philadelphia. The location was very convenient and I enjoyed the service of the catering group--Sharon, Jackie, Teresa and Margaret. Chef Rodney is the best and we all looked forward to their true hospitality and good food! I am sure that I will see them again!

great experience
Pros:

The staff at The Sheraton went above and beyond. There is construction going on to update and improve the hotel, which is great, but it did mean loosing the lobby and main entrance while we were there. However, the staff was attentive and did their best to make our stay a great one. They were friendly and always asking if we needed anything. The hotel even hosted a happy hour with free food and drinks. A special shout out to the gentleman at check-in, Teresa, Jackie, Dwight and Chef Rodney.

Home away from home
Pros:

We always love to stay at the Sheraton Philadelphia University City when we visit UPenn. The hotel itself is perfectly located and currently undergoing an impressive renovation. We mostly stay here though for the people. Everyone is so helpful, friendly, and welcoming. From Montrose at the front desk, to Teresa, Margaret, and Jacke in the Club Lounge. They greet us and treat us like family and we always feel so comfortable and appreciated here. Thank you for making this a home away from home for us.

Pros:

Staying at this Sheraton is like staying with family! In particular, we are always greeted with smiles and hugs at the club lounge by Teresa, Margaret, and Jacke. It makes a huge difference when you travel and feel so welcomed always.

I would highly recommend this hotel particularly adding on the club access.

Great employees!
Pros:

The hotel is under construction but that did not diminish the stay. Hotel employees were wonderfully helpful. A shoutout to Ty (Tyree Thomas), who is a perfect front desk person! Also great was the gentleman who was on the desk when I checked in the evening of Feb. 3 (I didn't get his name).
