The hotel was very clean and everyone was so helpful.
The only thing was the bathroom in the room was very small .
Emplacement exceptionnel
Hôtel vieillot
Cheveux dans la baignoire
I needed to get away by myself and staying here offered affordability, comfort, and friendliness.
Nothing
Everything
Fantastic time! Perfect accommodations!
Excellent place and wonderful staff! Loved the Swamp Fox too will be back!!
My experience at the Francis Marion hotel in Charleston for my mom's birthday celebration the weekend of July 24th through the 26th of July.
Prime location in downtown. We came for a revolutionary war trip and this was the perfect hotel. Beds were comfortable and staff was excellent.
Lovely hotel in the heart of Charleston on King street with all the good food. On-site restaurant for breakfast was amazing - food and wait staff. Our room overlooked a park so we could see events that were happening from before we headed out.
The hotel is easy to find, with the main entrance conveniently located on King Street.
We stayed in a Deluxe Double Room with a view. The room was clean, comfortable, and offered lovely views of the park. The bathroom was quite small and a bit outdated, but it was functional and met our needs.
The walls are extremely thin, and we could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring rooms. Fortunately, it was quiet at night, so it didn't affect our sleep.
The hotel also offers a great breakfast buffet. We prepaid $15 per person, and it was well worth it. There was a wide variety of options, including cereal, eggs, grits, bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, and more, making it easy to find something for everyone.
Overall, it's a well-located hotel with clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful park views, and a satisfying breakfast. If you don't mind limited soundproofing, it's a solid choice for your stay.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My stay at the Francis Marion Hotel exceeded every expectation. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine hospitality and professionalism that made me feel like a valued guest. The hotel’s timeless elegance, rich history, and beautifully maintained atmosphere perfectly capture the charm of Charleston while offering every modern comfort.
The room was spotless, comfortable, and inviting, with breathtaking views that made every morning memorable. The staff consistently went above and beyond, always friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure my stay was exceptional.
The location couldn’t have been better. Being in the heart of downtown Charleston made it effortless to explore the city’s incredible history, world-class dining, unique shops, and beautiful architecture. Everything was within walking distance, allowing me to truly experience the spirit and culture of this remarkable city.
Charleston itself is an unforgettable destination. The Southern hospitality, stunning waterfront views, rich history, and welcoming atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful cities I’ve visited. Every street tells a story, and every experience leaves you wanting to return.
If you’re looking for a place that combines luxury, history, outstanding service, and an unbeatable location, I wholeheartedly recommend the Francis Marion Hotel. It wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was an experience that made my visit to Charleston even more memorable. I look forward to returning again soon.
The check in was smooth and flawless, all staff were friendly and personable. Stopped by the spa and was hands down the best facial i have ever had. 30 out of 10 recommend!
We had a very lovely time! My daughter and I especially enjoyed the location. We would stay here again. Staff and concierge service was worth it!!
Really liked this hotel! Have stayed in many and this one is a great place to stay for the price. Comfortable and clean. Some historic charm adds to stay.
The Francis Marion is a grand old hotel that exceeded my expectations. Service provided by the Hotel Staff was 5-Star level. Professional and efficient. The room was clan and well appointed. The TV and WiFi worked effectively. I've read some of the reviews where guests mentioned a "musty" or "moldy" smell. Anyone who has visited or stayed in Charleston knows that humidity is a constant issue, and at times contributes to this odor. It's normal and not a reflection of the hotels cleanliness. I'll stay here again and have no problem recommended the Francis Marion to others.
During my Amtrak Southern Appeal vacation I had the opportunity to stay at the Francis Marion Hotel located on King Street in downtown Charleston. Being a Charleston natives who still live in the lowcountry, my family member and I were very excited about the opportunity to spend time as tourists in downtown Charleston. The location of the hotel makes Uber pick up and drop offs easy with an unloading lane right outside the hotel. We arrived after midnight and everyone from the attendants outside to the front desk staff were very courteous and helpful as we checked in and throughout our stay. The atmosphere is very peaceful, yet upbeat with visitors moving in and out. The hotel is beautiful and clean and our room was very cozy. They had a sofa pull out bed making it easier to accommodate both of us with our own personal sleeping space. The hotel also had a Starbucks and a restaurant , Swamp Fox, located within it with access to lots of other places to eat along King and other intersecting streets within walking distance. Marion Square park is across the street and a beautiful space to walk or participate in the farmers' market that was occurring the day we were staying. You had the option of ordering from the Swamp Fox and dining in your room if you did not want to go down to the restaurant. There was also a spa and the attendants at the door were very helpful with assisting with carrying luggage or answering questions. I truly enjoyed my stay and as a native was very proud to experience the hospitality that visitors who are coming into the city experience. It made me very proud of my city. On this trip where we visited 4 cities, New Orleans, Washington D.C., Charleston, and Savannah, Francis Marion pushed Charleston ahead of the other great hotels with their hospitality and the keen focus we experienced as guests. Kudos to the home team!
