Hands down the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The lobby and hallways smell like a bathroom, and the beds are terrible (sheets are undersized, mattresses are rock hard), and they let homeless in to bother you while working in the lobby (no security on site anywhere). Additionally, the staff is slow, unhelpful, and rude (takes forever to check in). On my last night there, a low-level manager banged on my door at 10:30pm because they didn’t have a card on file for my reservation. Well, how did I get a key and stay here? They screwed up and decided that 10:30 at night was the right time to force me to go to the front desk so they could scan my card. By far the worst hotel I’ve experienced in over 30 years of world travel. Pass on this place unless you want to smell poop all day, have your sleep disturbed, and get practically assaulted by homeless people while trying to work in the dated and dirty lobby. The food choices/quality, and the bar area is equally disappointing. Find another hotel so you can actually enjoy your time in New Orleans. You’ll be glad you did.
Great location!
Check in took hours; less than helpful with bookings through concierge.
An impressive hotel with huge lobby. The location is brilliant for nearby Bourbon and adjacent streets. It’s also convenient for getting the street trams to various places.
I had no problem going out on my own one afternoon, finding somewhere to eat, and visiting two art galleries.
A good view from my room too.
Lots of interesting shops nearby.
The breakfast was fine. Location was ok.
We got in late and my card was not working. I had to call long distance to my bank to try and figure out what the issue waa. Come to find out it was the hotel machine. The front desk agent waa pleasant but if more experienced she would have siggested another machine before I incurred costa to call long distance.
I have had a double room at other hotels. However the double beds here were small.
Lastly one morning on coming to the lobby. We went to the concierge desk to ask a simple question and the concierge agent standing there told us point blank that he was not open to ask someone else. We watched and it was not long that he opened after that. We were booked to come back and stay for 4 days after our cruises but we cancelled the reservation and stayed somewhere else.
Everything is good about this hotel, a bit pricey but worth it. The Lobby is the best part.
La vista de la habitación
El trato,poca colaboracion
Great location, comfortable rooms!
Lack of communication between hotel and concierge; dismissive manager regarding our issue with tickets.
I was able to watch the many parades that came in front of the building.
No access to the building when parade is in route and your traveling from out of town..Had to wait on the roads to be cleaned by the city for cleanup. More hours wasted before checking into the hotel.
I enjoyed the hotel's proximity to the French Quarter and other historical sites. The room itself was just right with comfortable beds and utilities.
Probably one of the nicest hotels my wife and I have stayed at. Here’s a tip. We booked it on hotwire hot deal for $137which is less than half the price it normally would cost keep in mind that there’s valet parking, which I highly recommend because parking is difficult in New Orleans especially as close as we were to the French Quarter. There’s a beignet shop right next-door to the hotel Be prepared for a long line in the restaurant, but you also will be rewarded with a jazz band trio. The hotels elevator is confusing soI would recommend taking a bellhop with you. The room was very nice. We were on the 11th floor of a 49 floor hotel.
Apparently Marriott has no quality control department anymore. This hotel seems like it was frozen in time in 2000. The furniture in the lobby is beat up and old. The inside of the elevators are beaten up wood and tired floors. The furniture in the room was like 20 years old. Hardly any USB charging ports in the room. The only place to have dinner in this huge hotel is at a bar in the lobby which is like 0 degrees everytime the front door opens. I stayed here for a convention last week but next time Ill stay someplace else. On the bright side I had hot water for my shower and the bed was comfortable. I guess I have to lower my standards. This is a 50 story huge convention building that hasn't had $1 spent on it in more than 10 years. Its obvious Shame on you Marriott.
Everything! Locations are perfect, staff is friendly and welcoming. The drinks at the bar were good. Hotel room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was fair. Location was the best!
Elevators were in repair in the middle of the conference I attended. Poor planning on part of management.
Food was expensive and only mediocre.
