Poor service, not enough staff, and if you are needing ADA complice go elsewhere. I was in a wheelchair and told them with my reservation and I was given a Bathtub! The handicapped bathroom would not allow for closint the door with my wheelchair in the meeting area, so I had to wait until I could get up to my room on the 8th floor and far from the elevator. Do not go if you have disabilities......Breakfast for 2 buffets was $75. This included an 18% surcharge. So, take your own food.....
I am a globalist, it was a very satisfying stay there. Got all the perks for globalist seamlessly, the staff there made me feel really welcomed.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very polite and accomodating. I really enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel looks shiny new and clean. As a globalist, I received a room upgrade and was treated to a bottle of wine and a voucher for food at the market. It was a totally enjoyable stay.
Wonderful hotel experience located right in the heart of downtown Austin. Highly recommend for a weekend or special occasion.
Celebrated my wife’s 50th in Austin — of all Hyatt properties in Austin she chose Hyatt Regency to celebrate her big milestone birthday because of their location and excellent service all the time, every time. Mariano worked with my sister on the birthday arrangements/surprises for my wife. We even had to postpone the trip due to snow. They took care of everything without a hitch. They’re consistent through and through.
Excellent experience all around! Staff is great and one of the best hotel breakfast buffets I have had in my travels. Will absolutely return!
I had an outstanding stay at the Hyatt Regency Austin. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and very well maintained, with great amenities and a fantastic location by the river. Overall, it was a to ‑quality stay and a truly great experience I would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel.
We went to Austin to celebrate wife's BDay. It was our 1st visit to the capitol city. The weather was cold, but the people were friendly adn the food was amazing! (Stiener Ranch Steakhouse and Terry Balck's BBQ).
The hotel is decent but everything is so overly priced, it' insane. $40 to $75 breakfast (!!!), $58 for self parking, $75 for Vallet, it's doubled what I have seen in any other hotel of that level. The food is similarly priced. Insane
They are housing ICE. It is unacceptable to support them and we do not want them in our city. This hotel does not care about its community.
Stayed Friday January 23
Pros:
---peaceful and quiet location and room
---outstanding new look and feel post-refurb
---excellent service and food at breakfast - thanks Tamara! Everyone was very kind and attentive.
---proactive, friendly, and professional check-in / guest service - thank you Eli and team!
---friendly team and good selection in the store / coffee shop - excellent lattes - thank you Sky and Alyssa
---beautiful view / location - right on the river with a stunning view of the Austin skyline
---clean, thoughtful fitness center - three brand new, functioning pelotons (which is nice ... vs some other hyatts)
Cons:
---only the construction next door which makes the driveway tight (but we didn't hear any of the construction activity)
Tip:
---try out the breakfast buffet and the fitness center
This Hyatt Regency felt to us more like a Grand Hyatt ... truly a special stay ... we will look forward to returning
The room smelled. When we tried to talk to the manager about it, we were ignored. Don’t let the price fool you into thinking it’s nice, stay somewhere else.
Really enjoyed our stay here. Location is easy to get to the main sites of Austin from but set aside just enough to be slightly out of the hustle & bustle. New renovations are nice and hotel is very spacious from the rooms to the common areasand clean. Overall like the open air center concept although there was slight noise issues here and there as it makes sounds carry more. The staff are very attentive and nice and went above and beyond. I loved that they have a number you can text them anytime for assistance or questions too - I must prefer that to calling and waiting on hold etc. so was super nice to see that.
Stayed 3 nights
I really wanted to love this place based on all the glowing reviews, but our experience was completely different.
The room hadn’t been properly cleaned - found hair in the bathroom and the sheets had stains. Asked for new ones and housekeeping seemed annoyed. The ladybird lake view was mostly a parking lot with a sliver of water if you leaned out the window.
Worst part was the noise. Paper-thin walls meant we heard every conversation, TV show, and toilet flush from neighboring rooms. Got maybe 4 hours of sleep each night.
Some of the best customer service I've experienced at a hotel in years! Pablo was the manager when I checked in and he made we had the most comfortable and relaxing experience possible. Breakfast is phenomenal (fresh honeycomb! made to adult omelettes! Warm buttermilk biscuits!) with a view overlooking Ladybird Lake, the trail and the Austin skyline. Kayak rentals available right outside, super comfortable beds and pillows. Overall, a fantastic experience - thanks Pablo!
Did not eat breakfast. Did not look like $30 worth per person
Parking is expensive. If would have known it was $50 a night for self parking, I would have stayed somewhere else.
Great location in the heart of the shopping area. Great walking path along the river behind the hotel. Stunning views from the hotel patio. Fantastic, friendly and accommodating team running the restaurant/bar and super nice deck to sip cocktails. Room was smallish but sufficient for 2 people. With construction next door, I would not stay at this hotel until the adjacent building is done, unless they discount pricing dramatically. It's very loud, they work weekdays, Saturday and Sunday and they begin at 7 am sharp. Parking is also a problem related to the construction. Lastly, ask for a room where water pressure is best. We had problems with Luke warm water and poor flow.
I haven't been to this particular Hyatt Regency in 25+ years. Wasn't sure how up to date the hotel would've been b/c it's one of the older ones in Downtown Austin. Everything was very modern and lots of convenient features throughout inc. USB ports and water stations throughout. The outside patio and bar area were exceptionally nice and was a perfect view of the City.
