Beautiful hotel, lobby areas spacious. Room nice size with comfortable beds.

Cons:

Better communication . I booked king room with Balcony.I checked in online. Once I made it to the hotel.. my room wasnt ready so I was put in a queen room with NO balcony. The hotel was at capacity as we were there for a family gathering.
However it wasn't communicated of the change and price was still same.

The room was nice still.

Nice rooms, poor customer service.
Pros:

The hotel location was great, and the rooms were decent. It was pretty clean as well.

Cons:

Staff wasn't very helpful, nor kind. We were charged double for our rooms (which I am STILL trying to fix). Additionally, our breakfast was supposed to be free through our reservation with booking.com, but it wasn't. And we didn't want to pay $17 PER PERSON (!!!) when all we wanted was an egg, or a bagel. And why do they not have free coffee for your guests? There was a tiny carafe that could have given out 4-6 small cups of coffee. Needless to say, it was empty when we tried to pour. Not sure I'd stay here again.

My reservation was for a king room. Upon arrival I was told only a queen room was available. After some back and forth I was told I could go to a "sister" hotel down the street for a king room. After some more back and forth a king room was discovered.
But wait, here's the best part. During the check in process a hotel employee misplaced my driver's license. As of check out Sunday morning it still had not been located.
So fast forward to Monday morning. I returned to the hotel to air my grievances and file a police report with the oak brook pd, i live in chicago for my lost license.
When I began to tell my story I was told by an employee that another guest had turned in my dl as it was mixed into their room keys. The hotel employee said that she had called the number on the reservation, which of course was mine. I believe that statement to be a lie as I received no calls from the hotel.
A nice night at a wedding was turned into a complete disaster thanks to doubletree.

Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly. Food at neering was good.

Cons:

I didn’t have hot water in my shower. I tried adjusting faucet and letting it run but it didn’t work.

This hotel used to be great but must have bad management now and I recommend avoiding the place!

Stayed here for 5 years now. Usually great. Other recent negative reviews are correct. Common areas not kept clean. My room had a dirty torn chair. AC did not work, was not fixed even after I complained to staff. Wallpaper ripped in areas. One bed in my room broke as soon as I laid down. Housekeeping staff did not speak English so couldn't even communicate with them. The whole place needs new management and a remodel. Will not stay here again.
