Surprised and Disappointed
Pros:

The location of the hotel is ideal- it is on Tampa’s beautiful riverfront and in the midst of downtown. The room was, however, disappointing. The beds appeared to be traditional double and the mattress was so soft we rolled to the middle all night. The bathroom was not clean to typical Hilton standards and was the size of a postage stamp. The staff were pleasant and kind. We will not choose this Hilton again.

Valentine’s Day in Hilton
Pros:

This hotel is very busy. It’s bustling over with championship teenagers, lovers twirling around and more. This makes for long elevator delays and no restaurant reservations if you are not a planner but there is always the bar. Thank you Remsi for knowing my love language - acts of service. Hands down the drinks here are made with love. The rooms are also cleaned with a lotta heart. This hotel is a must book for many reasons due to the perfectly placement for walkability and is just a good deal!

Pros:

I am puzzled by all of the five star reviews? At best this is an average almost 45 year old hotel with all of the expected issues. The outside is in need of serious cleaning and refurbishment/ repair in areas. My room although average in size needs updating with worn out furniture. The bathroom is TINY! There is barely room to turn around in it with the small sink, toilet, and cheap old fiberglass shower/tub. The tub actually squeaks when you stand in it and slopes away from the drain. The drain stopper was broken and required a small pry tool to open. The road noise, even from the 8th floor, is loud! My room also had the token pass through connecting door to the next room over which sucked because you could hear everything going on in the room next door. As I am typing this review you can also hear loud dogs barking across the hall. Overall NOT a quiet hotel for sleep.

Additionally, my AC system was set to 69F. When I woke up in the morning it was freezing at 64F. There were also pieces of dirt/insulation all over the room which was blown out of the ducts. It explains why I was so congested in the morning due to the dirty air.

The location is good for convenience to major spots in downtown Tampa and is one block from the river walk. From there you can easily walk to Hyde Park and Bay Front Blvd. The roof top pool and bar were nice.

I stay in hundreds of hotels around the country and world each year. I would skip this one and stay in the Marriott near the convention center for a better experience.

Disappointed because the pictures are deceiving.
Cons:

The room pictures listed on the website are completely different from the room we have got. The pictures on the website showed a renovated room, new showers, clean. When I got to the hotel, the room was way older than the pictures, old showers with rust, even the towels where old material.

I will not be staying with Hilton again.
Pros:

It was a safe place to lay my head at night and the view from my window was pretty.

Cons:

The room was REALLY tiny, and honestly extremely filthy. Almost like it was not cleaned before we got into it. I would not stay with Hilton again. Did not seem like it had been cleaned. The first night of our stay the lobby was bombarded by teens trying to take a picture with someone famous and taking pictures in the mirrors so we had to go around to reach the elevator. Our drain did not drain in the shower, & the shower curtain had stains all over it … maybe makeup? My car was parked out front for 30+ minutes waiting on the single valet driver so my husband went and parked the car himself. Why pay the valet fee $45.00 a night for my car to sit there around midnight and possibly get damaged? There was an open safety pin on our floor I could have stepped on, and tags from new clothing items the little plastic things were on the ground which tells me the floor was not vacuumed. Stains on the walls when you walk in the room I KNOW housekeeping could see it, why would it not be cleaned? The feather comforter on the bed had stains on it. There was a grape stem on the floor by my bed and we did not have grapes. The drapes by the window had holes in it. For the money I paid I could have got better quality somewhere else.
