The only thing we liked of our stay was the view of the room 3939
We were first at the room 3505 and was old, dirty and uncomfortable
1- RECEPTION:
a) - At our arrival they kept me waiting more than 1.5 hs to give me my room because the reservation was under my wife’s name and she was attending a meeting at the UN. I had the “Booking.com” printed confirmation with my name on it but the receptionist said it could be falsificated.
b)- We are frequent travelers and I run a large travel agency and hotels in Mexico. This is the first time I am received by a dog like those at the airport looking for drug dealers. It is quite disagreeable.
c) - 3 out of the 4 receptionists are quite rude and with no manners, Deepack in particular.
2- BATHROOM:
a)- Towels are too small for a Hotel of this kind.
b)- The shampoo and gel are very poor quality compared with other hotels of similar category (Hyatt, Marriott, etc)
c)- The bath tub (room 3505) needs urgently a rubber mat. It is slippery and dangerous.
d)- No amenities at all.
e)- Shower in room 3505 was broken, it only worked the Handheld shower head.
f)- There were paper cups instead of proper glasses. Like a Holiday Inn.
3- ROOM:
a)- Cleaning was appalling. Tea cups and tea bags were always left in the room, Bed sheets not properly cleaned, with sugar all over the place during our stay, etc. (photo attached).
b) - For the price and category, we expected bath robes and sandals.
c)- No Kleenex in the room (only in the bathroom).
d)- The room 3939 has a fantastic view but the door that connects with the room next door, is not properly acústic isolated.
e) - The room (3939) was not properly cleaned under the bed (photo attached).
4- SERVICE IN GENERAL:
a) - 1/10 calls were answered by reception. Almost impossible to call reception. Important is to mention that Linda was very helpful the few times we were lucky to get in touch with her.
b)- Room service (Cafe UN) has a very low quality. Cardboard dishes and plastic cutlery (and everything delivered in a paper bag) is unacceptable in a Hotel like Hilton.
c)- Laundry service is essential
The location was very good for ours needs. The view was partly of the city, but also of the building in front, which was much too close. The room looked good overall.
I was disappointed with this hotel (Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza). I expected more, but it seems that hospitality services in America do not live up to European standards. The room seemed generally clean, but upon closer inspection, I found hair in the bathroom and the sofa was full of suspicious stains, making me feel too disgusted to even sit on it. I asked for it to be cleaned, but they preferred to replace it altogether :))). The wall next to the bed was damaged, with the paint peeling off. The hotel hallway had a rather strange-looking carpet. The lounge area was similar—it didn't feel modern and had an outdated vibe. The price was high compared to what they offered. However, the location was central... and that is probably what we paid for.
It was easy to get to. The room was spacious with a view of the East River.
The hotel Cafe wasn't open & the grab & go space was very disappointing. There was nothing within a block & a half where you could pick up something to eat. It seemed the hotel reception staff were very few& while we called the reception staff before our stay neither they nor the operator answered their phone.

Rooms were big for NYC. Location was close to UN and about a 6 block walk to grand central. We were allowed to check in early and they watched our bags post checkout as well. Room was quiet and had a great view of the city.
No negatives to share.

Everything was excellent! The staff was attentive, and the facilities were spotless, well-organized, and beautifully maintained. The location and views were absolutely stunning and made the experience even more special. Definitely worth it!
