Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina

Out dated and very expensive for the amount of money.

Stayed here for several days for a conference that was being held at the hotel.

As a conference venue, it worked just fine. The conference rooms were all close to each other, so it was easy to get from one session to the next without having to walk all over the property.

The hotel is definitely family friendly, with several pools and outdoor games around the property. I paid extra for an upgrade to a room in the Tower, and the room was clean, comfortable, and a good size.

The biggest downside for me was the lack of food options nearby. Other than the pool restaurant and a fish-and-chips place about a 3 minute walk away, there really wasn't much within walking distance. Unless you have a rental car (and pay for parking), you're pretty much relying on Uber/Lyft or food delivery apps if you want to eat somewhere else.

For the purpose of attending a conference, the hotel was perfectly fine and convenient. The food provided by the conference was good, and having everything onsite made the event easy to get around.

That said, I probably wouldn't stay here again for a vacation. The location felt a little isolated, and I generally prefer staying somewhere where I can walk to more restaurants and things to do. For a conference, though, it got the job done.

Perfect stay at this wonderful hotel. Had a lovely high floor suite in the tower. Beautiful Marina views and even got the SeaWorld show at night from my balcony. Special shout out to Carlo at the front desk. Super kind and helpful man. Thanks for the great getaway!

Overall super disappointed with this stay. I booked a 1bdrm Marina suite for myself, my husband and our 5yr old daughter and the “suites” building is incredibly run down and outdated. The room smells musty and old and really not up to Hyatt standards. The biggest issue however is the noise level- you can hear literally everything and the street traffic has been keeping us up all night. I thought this room would be much more deluxe but I honestly think we would have been better off in a smaller room in the main building that doesn’t have a motel style entrance. Will not be coming back to this location.

Beautiful views. This is a family friendly hotel/resort. For families with young kids to enjoy the pool, not for a couple only. The condition isn't what it appears in photos. The photos are staged to show a few new pieces of furniture, making it look renovated. Actually most of the buildings and furniture are worn out. At the marina suites, there is a fishy smell outside 24/7, so only book these if you don't wish to use your patio. That smell isn't at the tower or the older buildings or pool near it.

Waterslides were great for the kids. Location reasonable for SeaWorld and mission beach.

Although it's not a new hotel, the room was HUGE, clean and great location. The bathroom had dual sinks, which I've never seen before in a hotel.

The hotel is in a lovely setting by the water. Our kids loved the pool, it.is very warm. The jacuzzi was lovely too! The waterslides were also a hit as were the activities near reception. Unfortunately the pool gets quite busy as lots of non hotel residents come in, but we always found space.
On arriving the staff were very friendly
We had a lot of luggage and were surprised to find that our room on the second floor was only accessible by stairs. This made things very difficult, but luckily a member of staff helped us. Without him I am not sure we would have managed!
We had a few issues with our room and were offered a more modern one in the main towers but we did not want to move our luggage again.
As mentioned, the staff were very friendly and helped as much as possible.
One thing we really noticed is that the room was not very clean. You could see piles of dust in places and on the lights. The floor was so dirty you had to wash your feet before putting socks on.
It is easy to drive into San Diego from the hotel.

Great location and friendly staff. We will definitely come back. Great tour of the bay provided by the hotel. It was a nice touch for Hyatt to offer to the guests

Great hotel for kids

Very nice stay, the place was clean the staff were very friendly. There were a lot of free activities for the kids. I loved that breakfast was included.

My favorite Hyatt property I’ve stayed at plenty of properties as a Hyatt employee. I have things I look for and expect from hotels and this property exceeds all expectations and more!

The location was great and the shuttle to the beach was convenient. We also appreciated being able to check in early and having access to free beach equipment.

Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was pretty disappointing. The breakfast buffet was not good at all. The food selection was limited and the bacon was so bad I could barely eat it.

The room also wasn't as clean as I expected. There was hair on the floor when we arrived, and housekeeping never cleaned the bathroom sink area even after I cleared everything off of it to make it easier for them.

The fees were another issue. The daily incidental hold was much higher than I have experienced at other hotels, and being charged a resort fee every day instead of one fee for the stay felt excessive.

I was also given conflicting information by the front desk. One employee told me a complimentary teepee setup could be arranged, but when I called back the next day I was told they didn't have any and was repeatedly told I didn't have the correct package.

For the amount of money we spent, I expected a much better experience. The location was the best part of the stay, but the food, cleanliness, fees, and inconsistent customer service made this a disappointing visit overall.

I stayed in a marina view suite with two small children. The suite was extremely disappointing — there was a distinct moldy/damp smell in the room. Every time we entered the room my three year old complained about it. The curtains were dirty and overall the room felt worn and tired.
I was also given wrong information twice when I asked questions at the front desk. But the service was friendly even if unhelpful in this respect.
My three year old loved the heated pool and waterslide. It was very crowded in June so I can only imagine what it’s like in peak summer, but all the kids were having a great time.
The service in the Red Marlin restaurant was really friendly.
I also appreciated that the hotel gave us chairs and sand toys for the beach.
Overall it would have been a good stay if the room had not been so disappointing and if we’d received better service.
