1. Upon check-in, I realized I had forgotten to update the name associated with my booking email address. I provided various forms of identification to prove that the email address belonged to me, but the staff's attitude was indifferent, and they told me to contact Booking.com myself to update my name. 2.The price of the buffet breakfast wasn't cheap, so I had high expectations. However, I was very disappointed when I went to eat breakfast. The variety of food was limited, the hygiene was only average, and the service staff's attitude was also mediocre.
Room was comfty and spacious. Next to the metro and tram lines is a good.
Waiting for elevator took quite a while especially during busy period. Need to upgrade the lifts to be more efficient
Location, decor, food, drinks
Good location, not bad room, bad F&B.
F&B quality is below average of regency. Recommend to find dining options around hotel or order some from UberEats.
El mejor llevamos años siendo clientes de este hotel nos encanta a mi y a mi esposo
Excellent Rooms, service, and the Regency Club is beautiful
The good first: the rooms all seem to be remodeled and are nice. They are clean, spacious, the furniture is in good condition, the bathrooms are nice with a wonderful glass walk-in shower.
I attended a conference at the hotel, and we were provided with breakfast, lunch and one reception evening with appetizers. The kitchen staff outdid themselves. There were food options for every dietary need, the coffee was nice and strong, the meals fresh, and healthy fruit and protein options were available. The waiters worked hard, discrete and fast, and yet had a smile for us and very super sweet. The reception appetizers were exceptional, and the bartenders were efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Here comes the stuff that bothered me: I had let the hotel know in advance that I would be driving up from San Diego County. The drive took me 12 hours (thank you, LA traffic!), and upon arrival, I was exhausted, just wanted to get the car parked and check in and stretch out. The man who checked me in was very stoic, no friendliness, nothing. “I need an ID and a credit card”. Done. Then he assigned me a room, but he said that he noticed that my room had no view but for an additional $40 per night he would be able to get me into a nicer room with a view. Since I was already about $480 per night in the hole (car alone is almost $100 per night), I declined. He gave me the key to room 203. Second floor. No view, just the street. I settled in, showered, stretched, prepped for the sessions the next morning. I wanted to go to sleep early, but I couldn’t. Once the TV was off, it became apparent that the windows don’t cover much outside noise. Besides the trolley, the cars, and some screaming people, there was a constant sound, like a train rolling on tracks. Constant. It never stopped. I thought it was some sort of pump running through my room. Since I was not asleep by 12:30, I called the front desk and asked if that sound would ever stop. They sounded like they had never heard of anyone asking about a sound being noticeable for rooms on the second floor, and they sent up an engineer. The man came into the the room and confirmed that the sound came from the outside (of the building) and would be ongoing. He would report back to the front desk. They called me a few minutes later, letting me know that they could offer earplugs. They would give me a different room, but they didn’t have one available. I replied that I found that interesting as at the time of check-in a few hours earlier, I was offered a different room for an additional charge. Well…
The next morning I had received a text, letting me know that they would move me to an upgraded room with partial bay view on the 8th floor. I packed up, moved rooms and went off to my sessions for the day.
I noticed that the room did indeed have quite a nice partial view. The sound of the pumps were still noticeable, but not as much as on the second floor.
Overall, my stay was pleasant. Would I stay there again? Maybe for a conference. For a family vacation I would probably go with a different hotel in a different location.
While the Hyatt is in the smacking middle of the business circle of San Francisco, it is not close to many attractions one might want to visit in a family vacation. There are some restaurants in the area within 10-20 minutes of walking distance. Please note that the restaurants are more often than not fully booked for dinner. If you don’t have a reservation, you may be offered a table at 8:30 or later or before 5:15 pm. Please call and reserve a table before you walk over.
Uber and Lyft services are available, but they charge a premium - just because they can. There is no parking anywhere, so you might as well leave your vehicle parked at the hotel and bite that bullet.
While the kitchen and waiter staff were exceptional, the other staff didn’t make me feel welcome at all. They all seemed to be doing just their job, not with pleasure but the bare minimum. The housekeeping staff was great! I briefly interacted with two ladies on two different days, and I found them to be pleasant and kind, and they did a great job cleaning and straightening out the room.
Beautiful hotel, overall excellent customer service and friendly staff. But do not get a room on the side near the OSHA restaurant and tennis court because it is too loud and the sound is disruptive.
Property was exceeded my expectations.
