We loved everything about this place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very clean and calming. We are at all three restaurants and market and loved the food at each. Highly recommend!
Location
Overpriced
The room was great overall; however, the shower curtain was ripped, and there was trash left behind the desk that wasn't picked up during cleaning. The location is excellent—very convenient and close to everything we needed. The room has full-size amenities, including hand soap. Breakfast was one of the highlights, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Although the line was long, it moved quickly, so the wait wasn't bad. The made-to-order omelets were especially delicious and definitely the best breakfast option.
I was disappointed with the customer service throughout my stay. The front desk staff could have been more welcoming and approachable. Since it was my first time visiting this location, I had several questions, but I often felt as though the staff looked at me like I should already know the answers. Instead of being helpful, they seemed bothered by my questions. At one point, I noticed a front desk employee drawing rather than engaging with guests, which gave an unprofessional impression. I also had lunch at the B & B Bar and Grill, and unfortunately, the service there was no better. My waitress never smiled and did not come across as friendly or welcoming. Overall, the lack of warm, attentive customer service had a negative impact on what would have otherwise been a pleasant stay.
Great hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. I always enjoy staying here. The on-site bar is great, breakfast is tasty, and it's close to everything I planned to do.
Great location. Comfy beds!
Walls are thin, elevators are slow, no water pressure.
Where to begin? This is a two-star hotel masquerading as a four-star hotel.
1. No maid service. The maids skipped our room three days in a row. We asked the front desk to at least give us more towels and empty the trash. They did neither. When we asked the maid in the hallway if she could do garbage and give us towels, she asked if we spoke Spanish. We ended up grabbing pool towels instead.
2. A/C was awful. Our room would get up to 78 degrees even with setting the thermostat to 67. We complained every day when they would magically ‘fix’ it. I am assuming they didn’t want to cool the rooms because of the cost. Our room faced west meaning it was cooking in the sun. We had to keep our shades closed and live in a cave to stay comfortable. We only got it below 72 the last night once the hotel emptied out (after a volleyball tournament).
3. Limited elevators. Only half the elevators were running. We had to wait 10-15 minutes going up or down because the cars were always full. Several times we had to take stairs with no A/C in 110 degree heat.
4. The bathroom door is a sliding barn door with no lock. That’s not ideal for families. There is literally no privacy.
5. Cockroaches! We found HUGE cockroaches in our room.
6. The shower water temp would not stay consistent. It was freezing and then boiling without moving the dial. The tub faucet wasn’t caulked with a huge gap allowing water to go behind the wall. The shower was super noisy too. You couldn’t take a shower without waking everyone up.
7. The valet was understaffed. We had to wait constantly despite calling ahead. The attendants were running to the cars in the heat and then speeding to the hotel. We even saw them run red lights.
8. The room door’s latch would often stay in, so the room wasn’t locked unless we forced it.
9. There were six pillows for 4 people. There were also no outlets on each side of the bed making it impossible to charge a device while using it.
The only good thing about the hotel was it is right across the street from the convention center. We will not stay here again.
Comfortable beds. Coffee maker in the room. Nice bar on the main floor. Good quick breakfast spot on the main floor.
Elevators were slow.
Great hotel with spacious rooms (suite). Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms too. Nice lobby and lobby bar- restaurant was excellent.
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and accommodating. Great food options and fun bar/restaurant experience. Lots of great space for sitting. Great huge TV in lobby for sports. Great access to the Convention center across the street and lots of great places to walk to. Super responsive when needed assist with room cooling and mini fridge.
Stayed here for a volleyball tournament in June and had an amazing stay. I want to first off mention Ellie and Brennah for their amazing customer service. They were so patient and commutative. I also tried out the texting option and Anthony was so quick to respond and informative. This alone gave me a 4 star experience! The other star is for the location and accommodations. My room was clean and spacious. The property could use some updating (pool, gym), but it’s still very lovely. The convention center is right across the street and there are many good restaurants to choose from. There is also a grocery market less than half a mile away. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting downtown Phoenix.
You need to know Hyatt regency likes to book rooms for kids event. Our last stay in April of last year they booked a cheerleading group so we had kids running through the halls and being noisy next door to us. We figured it was just a fluke so booked a room again this past weekend big surprise there is a volleyball group there. Upgraded our room to be away from other guests and again kids running up and down hallway screaming and yelling til after midnight. No adult supervision and no security. Pool is extremely small and has two umbrellas. Both visits we were unable to use the pool due to the number of kids in this tiny pool. There is no restaurant on site available for a sit down breakfast. They have a grab and go place. Staff was wonderful and room was nice but overall experience was not what we wanted. If you are coming to relax this is not your hotel.
we requested and received late checkout. thank you!
My room was incredible! We requested a crib, it was a full size crib for my little one which made our nights so much easier!
Just an ok hotel. In need of an update. Check in staff for World of Hyatt members too busy flirting with girls than wanting to check in customers waiting in line…..
Very clean, great location, rooms were awesome and clean. Personnel and customer service was wonderful and the dinner at The Compass restaurant is not only a must-do for the experience, the food was 5-Star. I would return in a minute for that alone.
Awesome staff were super helpful. Our reservation got messed up - we were booked at another Hyatt! But the folks at Regency were able to get us in on short notice during a convention weekend. Absolutely amazing. And they were super helpful and friendly too. Couldn't be happier.
