I always stay at the Hyatt Regency.
I'm never disappointed
It’s was close to the train station we walked to and from our hotel. It was a 5 minute drive to French Quarter may restaurant as well. The best location to stay at.

The Hyatt Regency NOLA is a beautiful hotel staffed with friendly and helpful team members who are ready,. willing, and able to make sure your stay is everything you wish! It is conveniently located to major public transportation lines and walking distance to the French Quarter and WWII Museum. My family was ecstatic throughout our week-long stay here and cannot wait to return!
The hotel is in a great area / location - convenient to downtown and transportation; walking distance to to the Super Dome and Smoothie King center. The amenities are superb and has 5 star quality.

This hotel has went down since the last time I stayed there. They did not have the room ready that I booked - city view. They offered a $25 upgrade. We took it. It was not a better room. View of the roof, hot in the room, plugs not working, and someone walked into our room. No knock. She said did you call for service. We said no we just got here 5 minutes ago. I did tell her issues we had with the room . She said she would let them know. We did not hear back from anyone. This made us wonder if she was even a staff person. Scary.
Huge hotel, has everything you need inside for a short stay. The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable as well. No issues, check-in and check-out were pretty quick, through the app, which worked just fine, highly recommended.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone from the front desk staff, the lady at the elevator, the concierge. etc. The hotel is conveniently located and accessible to many restaurants and shopping.

As a business traveler, I look for consistency, cleanliness, and reliable in-room functionality, and this stay fell short of those expectations. While the lobby and common areas are modern and well designed, the guest room experience did not match that standard.
The room had multiple cleanliness issues, including visible dust, hair in the bathroom, and leftover items on the floor, which raised concerns about overall housekeeping quality. There were also large dust clumps on the air vent, which would be especially problematic for guests with allergies. Additionally, key business friendly features like Google Cast were not working, limiting the ability to easily connect and work from the room.
The bathroom layout was also a challenge. The space is extremely tight, with the shower, toilet, and door interfering with each other, making it difficult to enter and exit comfortably. A different door design, such as a pocket door, would significantly improve functionality.
I was moved to a second room the following day, however the condition was not improved, indicating a broader consistency issue across rooms. I also observed a mouse in the restaurant area, which is particularly concerning from a cleanliness and professionalism standpoint.
For business travelers, reliability and a clean, well maintained environment are essential. While the location and common areas are strong, the room quality, cleanliness, and functionality need significant improvement to meet expectations for a property of this level.
