So close to the airport and very convenient to get around by catching the Crystal City Metro near by. Crystal City Hyatt for the WIN!
Virginia, at the front desk was absolutely amazing!! She helped us with everything from tours to airport shuttles to the metro. Very kind and made the stay at the hotel outstanding. In a very busy city, she took the time to make sure these Texans felt welcome.
Hyatt Regency rooms were old and dated. However, service is good. The price per night was $400+ higher. I don't it's worth it because it's so old. It's cheaper to stay "next door" at the Courtyard or Renaissance. They are less expensive and their rooms amenities are newer. If you're going to a conference held at the Hyatt, it's much cheaper to stay at the neighboring hotels.
Overall the hotel is very nice. The bar is good, the food and cafe are also good. My only complaint is the bed in room 602 was the worst hotel bed I've ever had. It was squeaky and felt like there was no padding over the springs. After the first night of no sleeping, I tried sleeping on the couch and while that was an improvement, I still didn't sleep that well. I heard from other guests that their beds were not great either, so I don't believe this relates to only my room.
Very convenient to the Reagan airport, friendly atmosphere, clean rooms and facilities. Delicious breakfast buffet or à la carte.
Plan on eating elsewhere, but the hotel itself was clean, towels and sheets fresh, and the service was good. It is such a great opportunity to have in-hotel restaurants, but it felt a bit like the hotel took that advantage for granted. I am likely to come back for the same conference next year, but I plan on ordering food from a grocery store next time.
A number of people at the conference discussed the food making them feel violently ill.
I had stomach aches but nothing disasterous. The Internet in the rooms wasn't great considering the price of the hotel and kept logging out. The conference had trouble with bandwidth. The front desk didn't tell me parking was an extra 50$ /day. So. Overall I wasn't happy
I wanted to give a 5-star shout-out to Virginia at the Hyatt Regency for her outstanding customer service. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely went out of her way to make sure everything was taken care of. It’s rare to come across someone who makes you feel so valued as a guest, and her positive attitude really made a difference in my stay.
Thank you, Virginia, for your professionalism, kindness, and for representing the Hyatt so well. People like you are what make guests want to come back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 😊
The housekeeping service we received was phenomenal and Lisa, our housekeeper, was an absolute delight and lifesaver!
My room had mold in it that seemed to be purposely covered. When I told the front desk they immediately moved me to another room, but it was very inconvenient. I had to pack all my things take them down to the lobby and back up again and wasn’t offered help. I ask twice for a microwave to be in my room and was assured I could have one and it never came. I didn’t even receive an apology for any of this. I complained about the rooms smelling like smoke and the front desk gave me an attitude saying everywhere smelled like smoke due to the other guests. I understand if that is the case, but the way it was said was very rude. Other than that rooms were ok and kinda clean.
My experience was phenomenal. The staff was kind and attentive. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the A/C easy to control and effective. The water also got nice and hot in the shower.
Attended Blerdcon there and stayed in the hotel. Being able to stay in the hotel enriches the experience greatly. As always the hotel was great: comfortable bed and pillows. Staff is friendly and helpful. I treated myself and granddaughter to the breakfast buffet and it was excellent. My only regret was not getting up early enough to eat more.
It was great. The room was clean and the staff was kind and helpful. Check in and check out were quick and easy. My room was quiet and clean.
I have just called the hotel pertaining to questions regarding the parking situation/breakfast/early check-in etc since this is the first time I am planning to stay. I was lucky enough to talk to the front desk staff named Virginia who has been so helpful in explaining all the details and it's been a pleasure talking to her.
Being a Globalist, I almost call the hotels I am planning to stay before to get a gist of the hospitality from the front desk staff and this is the best response I ever had even before staying so this really deserves a good review for the excellent help from Virginia.
Check-in process was smooth since I get to meet Virginia whom answered all my questions and even remembered our conversations 3 or 4 days before my stay. Virginia helped me a lot providing directions and got upgraded to a suite etc which is phenomenal.
But unfortunately, my valet parking situation was not as good as expected because those 2 guys were unprofessional or rude on their approach when I arrived and asked for a valet parking and took more time to bring back. my car. Faced similar rude behavior when I came for a check-out by the lady in front desk (NOT Virginia). 5 guests were waiting and when we asked can we leave the hotel keys near the front desk and whether we will receive an email which is the normal process I always follow, she rudely responded if you need a receipt you have to wait and didn't respond to the email receipt question at all. All are upset and we just left the hotel keys in the front desk by just ignoring her. She is not representing the value of this hotel and need to learn a thing or two being a Hotel staff like Virginia.
Great location, and it was near various restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also had a free airport shuttle that ran every 20 minutes ,which was convenient.
Wonderful location! Highly recommend this location for the respectful staff, clean room and comfortable bed! The Lobbibar serves delicious food! The servers are attentive and fun. The checkout process was the easiest hotel checkout I’ve ever had. The staff sent notifications and communication throughout my stay.
The Hyatt is clean and well-located. The conference and convention center was easy to navigate and find sessions. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I suggest parking in the parking garage next door because the valet parking is expensive and sometimes fills up. I parked in the parking garage right next door and it was only $84 from Wednesday evening to Sunday morning. Some of my colleagues paid a lot more for valet parking and on my last night there, I saw that the valet lot had filled and people were being turned away.
Sorry to say, but the food situation at this property was terrible. A real disaster. Overpriced, not fresh ingredients, overcooked. Not good. Many hotel rooms with garbage from DoorDash in the hallways indicated the issue. Kitchen closed from 2:00 to 5:00 pm each day. No all-day menu. No Market that was advertised. Coffee bar employees incredibly slow in taking orders, making drinks, charging accounts. I and others simply gave up waiting. The meeting rooms were freezing. Two escalators not working, forcing use of elevators for one floor. Good aspects of this property include getting a room with early arrival, the hotel shuttle to and from the airport, and friendly employees.
We had an unexpected stay at this hotel because of a snowstorm and cancelled flight. The booking, check-in, shuttle, stay, personnel, room, breakfast were all seamless and excellent!
Mae and Tasha made my front desk - check in and out - experience effortlessly and pleasant. My Hyatt stay met my expectations and made my business trip enjoyable. Hyatt Regency Crystal City is less than 5 minutes from DCA and easy walking to good dining. Within 10-20 minutes drive to many locations I needed to go in Falls Church, Ballston and Rosslyn.
