Shem Creek Inn

Close to everything. We had a room with a balcony that faced Shem Creek. It was great. The beds were comfortable. I forgot my pillow at home. Their pillows are comfortable. The AC was cold. The grab and go breakfast worked out great. The staff was very attentive to our questions and needs. I met the General Manager, Gray, and he was just as authentic as if I’d known him my entire life. The boardwalk to the marsh, which ran adjacent to Shem Creek, was peaceful and relaxing. Can’t wait to go back.

We are from Charleston and just wanted a staycation. We love Shem Creek but had never stayed the weekend before. Perfect location!! Great Views!! Make sure you get a marsh side water view. The staff were amazing and greeted us with smiles. Great Stay!!

My husband & I stayed in a deluxe king creek-side room at Shem Creek Inn for three nights in July. The room was very clean & spacious, and the furniture & bed were quite comfortable. Oddly, the toilet was uncomfortably close to the wall, but the shower was massive and had good water pressure. The nice-sized private deck had a table & two chairs, although the sliding glass door took quite a bit of muscle to open & close. The inn is surrounded by restaurants and bars that you can walk to, and has plenty of free private parking for guests only. The walkway through the marsh was extremely close and easily accessed. The view from the room was amazing, with boats coming and going all day, and sea birds flying around constantly. Every staff member we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. There are many stores, restaurants and shopping centers a very short drive away, and Isle of Palms is only a 10-15 drive. The drive to Charleston Intl Airport is about a half hour. The atmosphere in the Shem Creek area is fun and vibrant. We highly recommend this inn, and can't wait to return!

Thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay at Sham Creek Inn! The location is unbeatable—peaceful and relaxing, yet just steps from fantastic restaurants, lively bars, the waterfront, scenic boardwalks, fishing, and canoeing. It's also just a short drive to historic downtown Charleston and the beautiful beaches of Sullivan's Island.

What truly made the stay exceptional was the outstanding hospitality of General Manager Gray Rains. He creates a welcoming, friendly atmosphere that makes every guest feel right at home. His genuine commitment to excellent service is reflected throughout the property.

If you're looking for a comfortable, well-located place to experience the best of the Charleston area, I highly recommend Sham Creek Inn. I look forward to staying here again!

Shem Creek Inn you have our hearts! We had a picture perfect family stay. We are so glad we opted to stay here instead of a chain hotel downtown. Our relaxing morning and evening walks along the boardwalks were just what we needed. We loved that our first night fell on a Thursday to enjoy the poolside Sangria, shrimp and a Q&A with Rocky. We will be back!

Absolutely the best time! We only stayed 1 night but it was amazing! Checked in after a day on the beach and met the most amazing human! His name is Doug and he took care of us from the time we walked through the front doors. With his sense of humor and kindness, we knew we were in the right place! The hotel itself was wonderful as usual! Thank you Doug for making us feel so welcomed 😊
