Great location and wonderful atmosphere outside by the creek. Plenty of places that you can eat/drink at that is within walking distance.

This hotel is awesome! Fantastic location right on Shem Creek. The hotel is super clean and the rooms are very spacious. The staff has all been very friendly to us and super helpful. Great restaurant options all around the hotel. We will definitely be back to stay again!

We usually stay at one of the many "Chain" hotels when we visit. I am so happy we stayed at the Shem Creek Inn instead. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. We chose a creekside room with fun views of boats and restaurants. We even saw dolphins from our balcony. Our visit was during a February cold snap, so no noise from the bars. It probably gets a bit noisy in the warmer months, so if you want a quieter stay, I would book a marsh view room. That side of the inn has
lovely sunset views.
Our room was clean and bright. Beds were comfortable, nice linens and towels. I like that the room has a table with 2 chairs, perfect for a game of cards. They serve non standard, but nice breakfast. Cold selections like cereal, granola bars, milk and juices. They also have hearty breakfast sandwiches and pastries that you microwave.
Location is great. Several nice restaurants are within walking distance. It's an easy drive across the bridge to Charleston. Sullivan's Island is just minutes the other way. The Shem Creek Park, right next door, has beautiful boardwalks that go out to the harbor. Perfect for sunset stroll.
I will definitely book this Inn the next time I am in town.

Great atmosphere, great view, great board Walk. Room was clean and quite. Hopefully in a month or so it will be warmer. Can't wait to go back.

So many things within walking distance, great attractions, great restaurants and good entertainment. The scenery, different type of vessels , and seeing live dolphins and birds.

We chose this hotel mainly for its location directly on Shem Creek (I'm a nature lover) but it's also a very short drive to the attractions at Patriot's Point. The hotel is sandwiched between Shem Creek and the saltmarsh in Shem Creek Park. We reserved a marsh view room, which meant that we had perfect views of sunsets over the marsh and the Ravenel bridge lit up at night. There is a boardwalk which runs along the creek, with 5 or 6 restaurants within walking distance facing the creek. Our room was a nice size and had low-key nautical decor, nothing overdone or tacky. The premises were clean and quiet (of course, we were there during the off-season). The hotel offers free wifi, free parking (with a hang tag), and a "grab-and-go" breakfast selection. The breakfast was adequate but nothing special, since it is mostly packaged foods. The desk staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is also conveniently located to downtown Charleston, about a 15-min drive over the Ravenel bridge, and much less expensive than staying downtown.

Friends had told us that the Shem Creek Inn was a nice place to stay in Mt. Pleasant. We had decided to get away for Christmas and booked there. It was just the long weekend getaway we were looking for. Perfect low key vibe with as many things to do as you want. Will definitely go back

I've stayed at multiple hotels in the Mt Pleasant area but Shem Creek Inn is my absolute favorite and always my first choice when booking. It's not the newest or fanciest hotel but the location, views and atmosphere can't be beat. It's the only hotel directly on the water. You can often see dolphins playing from your balcony (creek view) and you're within walking distance to any of the restaurants on the creek. The staff have always been nice and the rooms have always been clean. Side note: Wake up before sunrise & walk out on the boardwalk to see the sun come up over the creek and marsh. Stunning!

Rooms were nice, good view and location; they had coffee and two complimentary beverages when you checked in.

Very nice stay. It's an older property but pretty well maintained. We had everything we needed in the room. Only ding I would give is for the HVAC system, the remote was very confusing. We really enjoyed the location, close to everything in Charleston and you can walk to at least a half dozen restaurants. We would stay again.
