Me cobraron más de lo que ya había pagado con booking. Los impuestos supuestamente no estaban incluidos
Nunca había espacio para tomar el desayuno. Siempre estaba lleno
The beds were incredibly comfortable—one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a hotel. The room was very clean, and everything felt fresh and newly renovated. You can really tell they’ve updated the property nicely. Would absolutely stay here again!
What we didn’t like:
We were in town celebrating our children’s engagement, which made the stay especially meaningful. After returning to our room around 1:30 a.m., we were simply having a normal conversation—not being loud—and received a call from security about noise complaints. That was extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable. It made us feel like we couldn’t even speak in our own room, and clearly points to very poor soundproofing.
I love my room and location
I think the lobby needs to remodel but besides that the rooms are great
la localisation , le lit qui était confortable
la chambre etait toujours bien nettoyé
serviette a disposition etc
Had parking

Very nice hotel with a clean room. Staff very very friendly and helpful
Shower wasn't super warm
It was clean and location was perfect.
Doorman was very helpful and friendly.
Reception team was absolutely disappointment. They were not helpful at any time furthermore they were rude.
Once i made a reservation via booking, ı sent a message to hotel that i requested invoice becoz my accomodation was with the company. At first they requested my company details for the incoicing from me for without any deny or rejection and i sent. When i arrived to the hotel reception said that only i should contact with customer service of booking and they did not provide the invoice for my accomodation! And then why did not you reject invoice process when ı sent a message to you before i arrive?? There is no answer.
Furthermore they took deposit and the sent back when i leave from hotel. And ı thought there is no more charge when i leave becoz değosit was sent back. After that 190 usd charged from my credit card. Although breakfast was included, one day breakfast price was charged to me without any info or any permission !!! When i reject this amount they said sorry but do i have to struggle with all these stuff??? Also breakfast was valid for children as well but they did not deduct childrens' breakfast amount. They only deduct adults' breakfast. Also i asked this issue as well, will we pay any amount for children's breakfast they said no, there will be any charge for your total breakfast! Each person who works at hotel says different thing. When i ask sth they say yes firstly, after they say no ! When they cant find to say any word, they said this is America, seriously!!!This feels me really uncomfortable and distrustful.
As a conclusion i do not have any invoice yet for my accomodation in spite of too many requests and messages. Only ı only have an info that i can take refund partially. (that was already taken mistakenly)
One and Only big thanks to the doorman who helped us too much.
Location
Beautiful, large room especially for downtown NYC. Very comfortable bed and room was kept nice and clean throughout our stay.
The room did not have any water provided, which I would consider a basic expectation for any hotel, particularly one that markets itself as five-star. When we came in from a night in town at 1am and asked a member of staff for some water, we were told there was a store down the street. I thought this was extremely unaccommodating and disappointing, telling customers paying a lot of money to stay at this luxury hotel, to go out into the streets at night and get it yourself! This was not in line with the level of service expected for a hotel of this price point.
The only things I liked about the hotel were the location and the cleanliness. Everything else was disappointing.
This was my first experience like this, and unfortunately a very negative one. I have never left such a review before, but this situation forced me to do so.
The experience was extremely disappointing. The staff were rude and unprofessional. I arrived at 2 AM and had to wait over an hour just to check in. I had stayed at this hotel twice in the past month without issues, but on my third visit I was suddenly accused of fraud, which was completely unacceptable.
There is no proper space for breakfast — people have to stand in line for up to 40 minutes. The manager behaved inappropriately, raised his voice, and handled the situation very poorly. After all this, the only “compensation” offered was a chocolate bar and the phone number of the general manager, which is absurd considering the stress and inconvenience caused.
Manager Gabriel Nogueira ignored my messages and didn’t even bother to read them. Overall, the reception staff were extremely rude and unhelpful.
Also, be aware that the hotel requires a $200 deposit per night, and if you use a foreign card, the refund can take up to 25 days, which is highly inconvenient.
I would not recommend this hotel.
I have stayed at The Barclay on many occasions over the last eight years and is by far my favourite hotel in New York. However, this has to be my favourite stay to date. My Diamond Ambassador status was recognised throughout our stay and everyone did everything they could to make our stay even more memorable. For my birthday we had booked a Classic Suite, which was a peaceful sanctuary in the middle of New York. Housekeeping kept everything spotless for us and we both loved the hot showers on cold days in New York. We used the club lounge and were very well looked after again by the team there, with lots of delicious food for breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapés too. Special thanks to Collette in the lounge for her attention and for presenting me with a delicious NY cheesecake with a lit candle for my birthday. The bar staff at the Parlour were helpful as always, I love the atmosphere in this part of the hotel. It is something very special that I have not found in other hotels in New York.
However, the most treasured memory for me will be the night we arrived, the day before my birthday. I had received email notification of a jazz suite session, which was taking place that evening in the presidential suite in the hotel. We arranged to attend as long as we were not delayed. We were made so welcome by Sofia, the general manager of the hotel and her adorable dog, Bowie. The evening can only be described as a intimate one with an audience of about 24 people who had the privilege of an outstanding performance by two Belgian young men called Rutger Mathys who played the harmonica and Mael Idris who played the baby grand piano in the suite.
The whole evening was just so surreal and even now feels like a dream. I had never heard of the suite sessions, but from now on I shall be paying much closer attention to what is planned when we are to visit next time. I would recommend these sessions to anyone with a keen interest in music.
