Nothing everything was good
Above and beyond service
We spent Friday-Sunday at the InterContinental London Hotel with our son and daughter in law and 2 year old.
We were met at our car by Hedel who didn’t bat an eye when he opened the boot of our van and the buggy and luggage fell out. Hedel was exceptional, he collected all our luggage, was friendly to us and the very tired little one, he pointed us to reception. He continued to be friendly and welcoming throughout our trip really adding to our experience, thank you.
Hannah in reception was also excellent, very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately I didn’t get all the names but everyone there really took our little one to their hearts, talking to her, giving her snacks and just being so kind. Thank you everyone you made our stay a real joy.
We had interconnecting rooms with our son and daughter in law, really thoughtful as we hadn’t requested it. The rooms were immaculate, spacious and extremely comfortable.
We had breakfast in our room each day, it was amazing, full English, pastries, porridge and yogurt, superb!
The location was unbeatable, right beside Hyde Park and Hard Rock!
Great location for Hyde park.
Breakfast and staff faultless.
Staff very kind
Beautiful smell as you walk through the door
All communal areas spotlessly clean and comfortable
Towels and bedlinen beautiful quality
This was booked as an alternative at very last minute due to another hotel being unfit for purpose, so we payed far too much money for the rooms.
Tap in bathroom dripping, they said they fixed but it was still dripping when I left.
My pillows smelt of tobacco on first night, I got bed changed and seemed better, but, clothes smelt of stale smoke when I got home, so think it was room.
Service charges on everything, even if you go to bar to buy your drink and carry back yourself, charge on receipt.
The king suite is too small & that small room also is not getting right temperature as the air conditioning is not sufficient to handle the heat of London. Outside temperature was not more than 34 degrees.
Location is very good. The door staff were friendly and helpful
Breakfast! Unorganised, other than the French waiter (I didn’t catch his name) were frankly useless, food was tasteless and cold.
DO NOT STAY HERE. If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. We just endured two days of no air conditioning during a severe heatwave, and it was hands-down the worst hotel experience of my life. For a luxury brand like Intercontinental, this level of service and catastrophic facility failure is unacceptable. A complete lack of basic comfort coupled with deceitful management that kept lying about the situation. Save your money and your sanity—stay somewhere that actually values its guests and has functioning AC.
Tudo
Nada
What a phenomenal place! I’ve had the good fortune to visit, twice, with my mother in last few months. From moment we arrived the team addressed my mother as “miss Terri” or “Terri” and it was great that they just remember guest preference-this is a big hotel but certainly not impersonal. I thought that their warmth was perhaps as a result of her IHG Diamond ambassador status, but no! The teams give bespoke experience to each guest. The door team: Panny, Rommel and Enamul were not just welcoming- they proved invaluable with regard to transport and directions!
The check in was completed in the club international lounge by Adi, Chirag and Jasper are so professional and accommodating, Luis very helpful with regard to club lounge. What a stunning environment in which to enjoy afternoon tea and kick back with other guests, or read/work.
The reception team is awesome too: Julia welcomed us and Emmanouil helped so much throughout our time at hotel, so polite yet warm. I Hannah, Fiona etc all just so focused and dedicated to satisfaction of each guest.
Concierge team, lead by Victor, pure gold! Vas, Mathew, Julian all assisted- even managing to fix my designer shoe! Bought in Vienna so impossible to return!
The bar team all friendly and drinks made and delivered by Alex and Viviana. Great mocktails and the pianist really enhanced the atmosphere in lobby/bar area.
All in all, an incredible second visit. A shout out to Sever who field calls. Food incredible! Will review Theo Randall, separately!
If I could award 10 stars I would! Can’t wait to return!
Not a 5 star more like a 4.
Great location in lovely area. Brutalist architecture. Tired rooms in need of an update.
Best thing is the onsite restaurant which was amazing
Having stayed in 5 star IHG before it’s not up to their standard. Nothing like the Geneva hotel for instance.
Positives
Onsite restaurant Theo Randall it’s amazing
Great central location
Beds comfortable
Rooms clean
Bathrooms large
Great view of wellington arch
Negatives
These may seem like picky negatives but if your calling yourself 5 star I would expect these things to be addressed .
Check in was poor didn’t explain basic things like breakfast, lounge etc
We were expected to take our own luggage upstairs which isn’t common in a 5 star.
Rooms are really tired. We had a suite overlooking the park. For £3500 you would expect a more updated room. From the glittery faux marble floor. To the 1970’s panelled walls. The interior is chavy/ tacky and very tired.
No full length mirror or a mirror to do make up in the room
Breakfast had a huge queue each day. In the 7th floor lounge and the downstairs breakfast area. We had to queue for half an hour to get. in to the restaurant.
Service was slow for breakfast waiting 3/4 for a tea order to be taken.
IHG It's not number one in five star properties, but its all you will ever need. the hotel was amazing with a great location to boot. Staff was wonderful and always visible if you had a question or needed local knowledge.
Hotel con tutti i comfort e servizi all’altezza
Nulla
My (Now) wife and I have stayed here on a personal and professional level for 9 years. It’s the only hotel we stay in London (We are based only 16 miles away in Surrey), but it means the world to us. Our latest stay, it’s every year, is my birthday stay, so no business for a change! We walk in and get treated phenomenally well, it’s blissfully perfect from a staff perspective, food and drink perspective (We use Intercontinental Dubai Marina for business) and the staff smile and make us smile. The atmosphere is unreal for central London, calm, fun, relaxing. We love the rooms and the views. We took the view facing front and watch the Kings guards and the amazing greenery.
In terms of costs, it’s the same as all Intercon’s. You pay for what you get and what you want, so really it’s good value. Frankly the cost of wine (Pinot Noir for me) is actually good value.
It is the best in London, best value on all levels, best staff, best everything and I can only say, stay there and thank me in your happy, relaxed thoughts.
A lovely stay at this hotel. The staff made us very welcome and extremely helpful at all levels. It is well located overlooking Hyde Park and Green Park and restaurants, pubs also close by. The breakfast choices were wide for all guests. Looking forward to the next visit.
