Travelodge by Wyndham Roanoke

My experience was deeply concerning, unsafe and far below any acceptable standards of cleanliness or hospitality.

Upon arrive, the front desk clerk had difficulty communicating, and when I entered the room, I immediately discovered multiple serious issues
1.) The ceiling appeared as thought it cold collapse at any moment
2.) The bathtub contained hair and looked as though it had not been cleaned
3.) the flooring was improperly installed, with holes that created a clear trip hazard
4.) The wall had unfinished plaster patches, as if the repairs were incomplete
5.) although I request a non-smoking room, the room smelled strongly of smoke, and the comforter had cigarette bun holes.

Because we had to leave for an event in Blackburg, VA, we initially planned to return later. However, upon coming back to the hotel, we felt unsafe due to unfamiliar men wandering around the parking lot. This added to our discomfort and concern for our safety.

When I informed the clerk that we could not stay due the room condition and the unsafe environment, he simply said "fine, just leave"

While check out stray cats were entering the lobby and spraying on the walls, and the clerk made no effort to remove them. As we drove around the building , it appeared that individuals were living long-term in some room, with crates and personal belongings outside the door.

I have never stayed in a hotel where I felt so unsafe and uncomfortable-especially while traveling with my daughter. the conditions were unsanitary, unsafe and uncomfortable for a paying guest. I strongly believe the health department should be notified.

No trash can in the room. No phone in the room. Towels were dirty. TV did not work. A few rooms down from me, there was a family LIVING in their room, with cats and children. I won't stay here again.

The room was clean, but the shower had broken tiles, the place looks run down, and lack of maintenance. It needs TLC.
the bed sheets had what appeared cigarette burnt marks through it. The A/c unit was working but falling apart.
It's an old place. The king bed is very soft "Saggy".

Muddy prints all over the door and walls, one barely working light, NO RUNNING WATER, the singular dresser had no way to open it, stained everything, and again- NO RUNNING WATER. You don’t put someone in a motel, even a dirt cheap one, with no water. I will let A LOT go because I’m all about it’s not where you stay but what you do while you’re there. I come with my own Lysol, roach spray and bed bug spray every time, idc the price/location. But no water? Absolutely not. I reported the location to the appropriate authorities as well as to Booking.com.

The whole hotel. I was only there for 2 minutes before I checked out. Smelled like cigarette smoke and the door and wall were black. Nothing was cleaned. Save yourself the money and don't stay.

The staff was extremely rude and I couldn't talk to the housekeeping staff because they didn't speak English
