We stayed at the Washinton Dulles Airport Marriott for one night to catch an early flight the next day. It is “almost walkable” from the airport if you cut through the parking lots, but the shuttles to and from the airport are very frequent and easy to catch. I used the app to check in so I did not have to go to the front desk.
We had King room. Pretty standard…everything worked. Plenty of room. The bed was notably comfortable…no airport noise. Temperature control was good. The room came with concierge lounge access. The one on our floor was not open. The lounge near the lobby was ok…some light hors d’oeuvres and various drinks. Not sure how much extra this access costs but it is likely not worth it. We had a drink in the lounge and then later dinner. Neither of us can remember what we had so it did not stick out as particularly good or bad.
One nice surprise was the nice lake behind the hotel. There is a path that walks part way around the lake. It was still partially frozen when we visited, but there were a few species of ducks out there. Overall, it is what you would expect from a hotel airport, and I would consider staying again if the need arises
The location was perfect for our needs. The airport shuttle was great. The option of paying to leave my car there during my trip was perfect. The shuttle drivers handled getting our luggage in and out.
El shuttle bus
Las instalacones son viejas, el ascensor es muy antiguo y las habitaciones del piso 1 tienen dificultades con las maletas de rueda.
A little dated, but very clean and closest and thus cozy and convenient. Closest Bonvoy (?) hotel to IAD airport. Very convenient with a shuttle service every 15 minutes and a lounge. The room had all the amenities was quite spacious. Arrived late at night and had to depart airport early next morning g so was a perfect choice
My 19 YO daughter had a 7am flight. So we booked her a room at this hotel so she doesn't have to get uber or ride the public transit at 4am. We did not know this is a 21 or older hotel. They wouldn't check her in without having me sign a form. I filled out the form, emailed it back to them as they requested, except their email system blocked my email and they denied ever receiving it. No fax number at the hotel. So I sent it to my daughter, who showed them the filled out form. Nope. Not good enough. When my daughter asked what are the options, the receptionist said "well, you can talk to my manager" and walked away. Eventually my daughter asked to send the email to one of their personal emails. That worked. Then they walked away without ever checking her in. Throughout the whole process of 1 hour and 20 min, they kept helping other customers, at one point continuously answered the phones and ignored her when she was asking questions, and walked away multiple times without any explanations. I was on the phone the whole time. Imagine how worried we were for her. Do not send your loved ones to this place. This occurred 5-6:20pm on 3/6/26 if anyone wants to investigate who the front desk receptionists were, but I doubt anyone there cares.
Near the airport
Expensive yet old building
The location and check in went smooth. The staff were kind, helpful, and courteous. The 2nd room (in the photo) I was provided by the hotel staffer (Jon) after I made the request to switch.
1st I given a room that didn't smell fresh and having to request a different room. Pile of dirty towels left in the hallway directly across from the stuffy room provided to me upon arrival (photo). I had to request another room due to the unwelcoming smell.and sight of dirty towels left outside in the hallway facing the room I was initially given.
I had the displeasure of staying at this aging Marriott for four hours after my flight was canceled at 3am. The lobby is dated, the hallways are dim & dingy, and our room was straight out of the seventies - small, low ceilings, dorm-decor, threadbare sheets and one rough towel, and a sink in the living area that barely drained. I will say that the front desk staff were very helpful and the shuttle bus was prompt. I suggest you avoid this decrepit relic for all but the most dire Dulles circumstances.
Localization and room.
Nothing.
