You was clean, staff friendly and helpful. I was there for a conference. Lots of construction makes the restaurant very small. It’s going to be beautiful when completed.
Stayed here for a family reunion an absolutely loved it. The pool is absolutely amazing, and one of the reasons we selected it. The hotel is a little closer to Harrisburg than Hershey, but it’s a short drive to most attractions in the area. Hotel offers a pretty decent breakfast service in their on-site restaurant; lunch and dinner options were a little more limited when we visited. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
Everything needs updated or repaired
the renovated rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was simple and good, even though they are under construction. The pool was very nice. The pool could have been a little cleaner but it still was nice. The entire pool area is a great set up and the ability to swim inside and outside was really cool.
It’s a little dated but it was comfortable
We went to Hershey Park for a family stay and wanted a nice hotel at a great rate. We found this hotel. We had reservations that multiple reviews mentioned ongoing construction. When we arrived, we were advised of the constructions. My first thought was oh no, we have a baby.
As we walked to the room, we saw the outdoor pool lit up w/green lights and a bar. That would be fun if we’re just my wife and I..
The room was modern with comfortable beds. The room was clean, and quiet. We slept great!
I recommend this hotel and will use it again when we go to Hershey Park next year.
This hotel is under construction
If given another option I would stay elsewhere. The construction is definitely in your face and seems to be in slow motion based on how long this has been going on based on the reviews.
We did eat at the restaurant and the food was good, but the best other option for other food was Chili's.
The people who work at the hotel are very nice it really is just the construction and mess that would make me pick another hotel.
Roach in room and the tub wouldn’t drain quickly
Water backed up
Rooms need upgrade. Water won't run well in the bathroom, ants in the room, Tv won't work.
The hotel was in disrepair and for what we paid was not worth it at all. Paint in our room was peeling. Wires hanging from the ceiling and construction work all over. We also were stuck in the elevator.
We deserve. Refund it was so bad.
This hotel has been under repair and refresh for over a year. It’s falling apart. Gym is temporary and bad, paint coming off ceiling in bathroom, confusing signs around to get guests where they need to walk (which is far and a maze), and pool area is always under some repair.
This hotel is undergoing massive and inconvenient renovations. Our pricey art retreat was booked here (bad choice), so we met with many other guests. Some parts of the hotel were sweltering, others were freezing. Thermostats made no difference.
Breakfast was set in a dreary meeting room. One hostess insisted on seating us with other people when empty tables were available. Our servers were SUPERB, but the buffet's potatoes and scrambled eggs were cold. Omelets made to order were flat and greasy. We had breakfast vouchers, but others paid $17 for this.
The food in the tiny Dog and Pony restaurant was excellent, though you might have to eat in the hallway.
Staff treated my family very well . Would stay again
The worst- do not stay here. They are renovating the hotel piecemeal and very slowly and still have the old rooms in the rotation. People in the group had to switch rooms and or hotels do to visible mold in the rooms. Some people were not able to get into their rooms until late at night etc etc. The restaurant and other amenities are limited - it is a mess
My wife and I usually stay at the Fairfield Inn by the airport, but they wouldn't let us use points for both nights--only one. So we gave the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey a try, and overall, we're glad we did.
When we first arrived, we noticed there's a lot of construction happening. There are clear signs at the front and back entrances asking you to check in before unloading your car--which we appreciated. We parked under the awning and walked in to find even more renovations inside the lobby.
Right away, we were greeted by a staff member offering complimentary drinks--a nice touch. Check-in was quick and easy, and thanks to our Marriott Platinum status, we were upgraded to a high-floor room overlooking the pool. The front desk staff was helpful and told us the best way to reach our room was from the back entrance, which made the walk much shorter.
Our room on the 9th floor looked recently renovated. It was clean, well-kept, and featured a king bed and a sleeper sofa. The view of the pool courtyard was great. However, there was one major issue: the heating/AC unit had exposed wires hanging out from underneath. That's a serious safety oversight, especially if you're traveling with kids. I cant believe that the electrician that tied in this unit left it this way and then who ever was the inspector going back and checking the work did a poor job and the lady that cleaned the unit should have also caught the problem. For this reason is why I gave 3 stars.
The pool is both indoor and outdoor, connected by a small pass-through. It's heated, though honestly, it didn't feel very warm. There's a food and drink area by the pool, and in the evening they had live music. While I liked the idea, the sound quality wasn't great. I was sitting near the singer and could barely understand her. Thankfully, I recognized most of the songs and could follow along.
Our stay included the breakfast buffet, which was held in one of the ballrooms during renovations. While it didn't have a typical restaurant vibe, it served its purpose. Made-to-order omelets and eggs were available, along with standard buffet options. Not fancy, but filling.
I had an ice pack I needed to keep frozen, and the front desk gladly stored it in their freezer. I also chatted with the staff and learned that all floors, the lobby, and the restaurant are being renovated, and a Sheraton Club Lounge is being added for Platinum members and higher (or for an additional fee if you're not elite).
We plan to stay here again, I will also make sure that I ask for a room with a balcony. It's a short drive to Hershey, and the rates are much better than staying in Hershey. Hopefully, once renovations are finished, everything will look great--and fingers crossed they don't raise the prices too much afterward.
Love Sheraton Harrisburg!
Property was very outdated and under construction. Rooms were clean.
Me and my family stayed here for the infamous Hershey sponsored Memorial Day soccer tournament. The hotel was terrible. You had to pay an interesting amount for breakfast, ( the best part of hotels is the the free breakfast!!!) In the photos there was a hot tub at the pool ( take a guess: there isn’t) the pool was also nasty. We went right after it opened in the morning so we were expecting it to be clean but there was hair, band aids, and questionable piles of who knows what on the ground. Our room was very tiny and the layout of the hotel is really weird. There’s and interesting kind of bar area on the 3rd floor which is also the lobby? And for events and hang outs, they don’t have enough room so there is a tent outside for those kind of activities. The staff was really nice though and understanding. They seemed to be heavily understaffed.
