Overall I had a great experience here. The location is very convenient located close to Tampa Airport. There is plenty of self parking available in their lot and the price ($20) is not that bad. I stayed on two weekdays. The first room that was assigned to me smelled of cigarette smoke. I asked for a different room and they quickly accommodated my request. The original room was right next to the concierge lounge. Also not an ideal location as more than likely there would have been noise from people going in and out of the lounge. My room had an excellent view of the Westshore area and airport.
All of the staff were friendly and top notch. The hotel seems geared toward business travelers. I spent some time at the pool and found it very quiet and relaxing. The pool area is large with plenty of seating both in shade and in the sun. Cypress Point park is about 1.5 miles away and a very nice park to walk around and take in great views of the bay.
The concierge lounge was very nice and I enjoyed the evening appetizers. Would suggest to provide soda in cans so one could quickly grab a can and go and especially given the fact the Tampa area can get hot and humid. Instead there is a soda/pop machine. This does not work well if you want to get a drink to go. Also at breakfast I found it difficult to access the milk as it was located in a heavy pitcher in a refrigerator that one had to bend down to open. Would suggest just providing the small cartons of milk instead like other Marriott lounges do. Also I realize most Marriott lounges in the US no longer provide complimentary beer and wine at happy hour. This is something they should consider bringing back. I found it a hassle to flag down the attendant for a glass of wine and then having to work the payment was a hassle as well.
I also used the free hotel shuttle that picked me up at the airport. That was super efficient and the driver was courteous and friendly.
The Tampa Westshore Marriott was amazing from a guest services perspective. I was down on a business trip. My director prepaid for two rooms but he wasn’t on the trip. Michael at the front desk took care of my counterpart and I the whole time. We had some confusion in the beginning and he sorted it out. We had a late flight returning, so Michael extended our check out really late. There was still some confusion at check out on payment due to director paying before, but Michael sorted it out. Extremely thankful for his help and would certainly return.
Great location, great staff, great property. Michael and Hunter were extremely helpful for us as our flight was delayed. They did their best to extend our stay as long as they could.

I had a last minute emergency leading us to not be able to work out of the original location we were supposed to and we had a big meeting with lots of approvals that I needed on my side. With very little time, Kyle was able to send me a draft contract. He was able to find ways to accommodate us with food options that were very last minute and suited our needs. After he sent me the contract, there was multiple times I would ask him to change details and he had to send me revised contracts. When Kyle left for the night, Sandra took over and was able to pick up like he never left. With an hour or so left of the workday, she was able to send me the final contract, get everything approved, and set up the room for me to check out the night before. When I went to check out the room, I met Tate who helped show me the room and go over all the details. After I left, I came back in a very stressed state trying to find two more small conference rooms, knowing most of the event team had already gone home. Tate was able to make urgent phone calls, coordinate with Kyle and Sandra after hours and accomodate another crazy last-minute request. Kyle, Tate, and Sandra, as well as the rest of the team at the Marriott Tampa Westshore, took a huge burden off my chest and I cannot say enough great things. The rooms themselves were perfect for our needs. Thank you Marriott Tampa Westshore!
My experience was great. When we checked in, Michael was so friendly and nice with getting us all sorted out and making sure that all of our needs were met. On top of that, he has a great sense of humor and loves making sure that once you are a guest at this hotel, you are like family. If it wasn’t for Michael, this stay at the hotel would’ve been less enjoyable. If there’s any issues that you have with your room such as wifi, breakfast, or potentially extending your stay, Michael is the guy to speak to since he makes it very quick and easy.
Our flight was cancelled at the last minute. We booked a room at the Marriot Westshore Residence Inn instead of the Marriot Westshore. I didn’t know there were 2 different properties and went to the wrong hotel, the Marriott Westshore. Already frustrated, we met Kendry. He’s very knowledgeable, personable , smart, and an absolute joy to deal with. The hotel is immaculate. Clean, friendly, and the restaurant and bar were fantastic. We’ve stayed all over the world and have never received such tremendous service. He turned a negative into a positive and who ca do that when a flight is cancelled last minute! Late checkout to accommodate our later flight tomorrow, free breakfast, an upgraded room, all without asking for any of this. I will always stay at this property on all of my Tampa visits and whoever is Kendry’s boss needs to give him a raise.

Back in the day, I planned meetings at this Marriott, so I should be a loyalty customer. I did not like that they added money on my credit card upfront, instead of trusting me to pay with my credit card on departure.
Hallways were very noisey during the middle of the night. Not enough insulation. Air temperature varied too much - sometimes too warm, other times cold/
Shasta was running the show in the concierge club and was very welcoming. She took great care of us. One of the better near airport hotel experiences I have had.
