I was super excited to come to Tampa. I stayed six night nights and wish I would’ve stayed somewhere else. It would’ve been a lot better. There are two Michaels that work there and both of these guys made my experience better, along with the shuttle drivers they were all great. There was a gentleman that worked at the front desk with Michael That was a complete jerk. On Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 in the morning, I listened to an obnoxious noise for four hours straight ! I wish I could post the video on here. I had no idea that there was even breakfast available that you didn’t have to pay for until my last day. I had to move three different times because my first two rooms smelled like mildew extremely bad. I tried to make it work and I went to the mall for a little bit and came back and I just couldn’t even handle it so I asked to be moved. Then I get to the second room that was dirty and still smelled like mildew really bad. Mind you there’s 14 floors so carrying three suitcases up and down the elevator after a long flight was not exactly what I wanted to do for the first hour that I was there. Got to the third room and it was nice and clean. Although I am skeptical that there are bedbugs because I have bites all over my legs and they itch. I was told to look and see if I can find anything. The housekeepers do not speak English, which is fine I suppose unless you need something. I had the sign on the door that said do not disturb and still got a knock on my door three days and then when I didn’t have the sign on the door, I left for a while and came back and my room was never cleaned. I’m not normally one to leave a bad review, but when you pay almost $2000 to stay somewhere, One would hope that it would be a pleasant experience or even a neutral experience. I have zero desire to get a free hand out or discount of any sort, just leaving an honest review. I’m sure for one night it would be fine. But if you’re coming on vacation, I would recommend staying somewhere else. The bed was really uncomfortable and the pillows were the worst pillows. I actually ended up not even using a pillow lol The pool is super nice, but it would be cool if there was a hot tub. The lady that works at the coffee stand was super awesome and made the best latte I’ve ever had in my life. I drink coffee every day and try all different sorts of coffee places but this hands-down had the best latte!! I appreciate both Michael’s so much and the shuttle drivers. I’ll be back to Tampa, but I won’t be back to this hotel. That’s really a bummer because this hotel could be killing it with the location and the potential. But life goes on, and I’m sure that the hotel will do just fine in the end.
I travel frequently for work & leisure--and I told myself I would leave a review of this hotel because after 3x staying here in the last 12 months, the front desk clerks are the most friendly, most professional I've dealt with. Clearly they must have good leadership because the experience is consistent. At every check-in I've always been warmly greeted, extensively explained the amenities, and just received a great, friendly welcome and acknowledgement every time thereafter when walking by the front desk (in a good way!). Best customer service I've received from any other hotel property I've stayed at. Is the hotel top tier? No, it's a hotel near the airport. But the service is great--and that made it a 5-star experience for me.
The location, atmosphere, staff and room all exceeded my expectations.
Big shout out to Taylor, Kendry and the rest of the Marriott team for your five star treatment⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely love the indoor outdoor pool!!
What a great weekend!
Location and overall experience
Nothing
Marginal…….I though it was included but it was not and staff told me that it was because I booked with booking.com……staff indicated that if I had booked direct with hotel, breakfast would have been included…..not happy!!!
Believer I paid more booking through booking. Come than if I had booked with hotel chain direct……I won’t make that mistake again!! Also, I thought I had booked a “deluxe” room with a bath tub (wife has a medical condition) but there was no tub. When I brought this to attention of staff, they said I would have to contact booking.com in order to sort out “issue” however” staff graciously moved us to a room with a tub but the room was smaller and certainly not a deluxe. When I asked about getting a refund to”cover” the difference in room charge (smaller room was less ecpensive) staff indicated they couldn’t make that happen because I booked with booking.com. Tub water and shower didn’t work initially but after an hour and a half, maintenance fixed it.
I travel 75+ nights per year, and this was one of my top stays - very comfortable bed felt like sleeping in a cocoon, and the staff is very generous recognizing my birthday and celebrating with little gifts.
Stayed here for two nights in April 2026.
I made the reservation in January 2026, and at the time the only rooms available included Concierge Lounge Access. Check-in was quick and efficient, but I was informed that my reservation did not actually include lounge access. Since I was in a hurry to get to the BTS concert, I accepted the explanation and headed to my room.
Unfortunately, when I entered the room, I immediately noticed the bed was unmade and there were slippers on the floor. The room either had not been cleaned yet or was still occupied—both situations were completely unacceptable.
I returned to the front desk, where another agent assisted me. He was apologetic and clearly trying to investigate what had gone wrong, but at that point I was already frustrated and in a rush, so I didn’t want to wait around while the issue was researched further.
After a few minutes, I was assigned a second room. Thankfully, this one was clean and unoccupied, but it was not the room type I originally booked (one king bed), and I still did not receive Concierge Lounge Access. After returning home, I communicated with the Front Desk Manager, who was very apologetic about the mix-up and ultimately provided a credit for my stay.
As for the hotel itself, the room was acceptable but did not feel up to typical Marriott standards. The room still had popcorn ceilings, the shower fixtures were loose, and some of the lighting controls were oddly difficult to figure out. Standard toiletries, towels, and a hair dryer were provided. Interestingly, the original room included complimentary bottled water, while the replacement room did not. However, when I asked the front desk for water bottles, they provided them without issue.
There also isn’t much nearby besides a gas station with a Subway and small convenience store across the street. One bright spot of the stay was the airport shuttle drivers—they were incredibly friendly and offered helpful local advice.
Would I stay here again? Probably not.
April 10-12, 2026 Pre-Cruise Stay
CHECK-IN: Wow-the most efficient, pleasant & professional experience. “Tate” needs to get moved to a JW or premium property. Called by name, acknowledged status & requests & confirmed all met.
ROOM: 1014 Standard King-new, modern well appointed furnishings. Very clean. Club chair & ottoman. Smells clean & fresh but not deodorized. Old fashioned mid wall height windows so no great view unless standing. NO SAFE! Seems odd & disappointing for modernized, business grade hotel that appears to have had recent refurbishment.
BATH: modern, ok size. Plenty of counter space. Decent shower.
POOL: Large angular indoor/outdoor pool. No depth over 4’, not really designed for laps. More of play pool. Lots of loungers, tables & chairs. Clean & lots of pleasant tropical landscaping.
RESTAURANT/BAR: large, well appointed. Some peculiar behavior from a couple of bartenders leaving for long periods of time……. On two nights of stay witnessed multiple guests leave tables for no service, and return multiple dishes (pizza, calamari, etc…). However my Chicken Caesar both bites was delicious! Buffett breakfast limited & not best quality or variety. But plenty of fresh fruit…not so expensive at $19.
HOTEL: Pleasant, clean, nice smelling. Pool, gym, coffee/snack shop, conference center. Free Shuttle for airport & local distance, but long waits.
Geraldo took such good care of me during a very stressful situation that called for early check in, late checkout, handicap accessibility, service animal, etc. I threw all the complications at him and he didn’t even break a sweat as he accommodated all the things, and he’s generally nice to talk to as well. Very grateful for him!
I felt safe with my daughter.
Nothing to complain about
Flor and Pedro are amazing. The best service in the world!
We came for the BTS concert and received nothing but excellent service! Shoutout to Sharodd, he was an amazing driver for the shuttle and very helpful getting us to the stadium.
Andre shuttled us to and from the BTS concert! He was very nice and accommodating!
Prime location near airport. The shuttle service was excellent. We really appreciated this service especially since this trip was our first to Tampa. Shout out to Sharodd for getting us around safely. We enjoyed the special attention given to those of us attending the BTS concert. From the photo ops to the specialty drinks, you made our trip even more exciting 💜
