We come here a couple of times a year and we always enjoy our stay. The staff is excellent, rates reasonable and the location is excellent.
Great location
One of the front desk staff was a bit aggressive tho we were patient with the whole check in process. Please don’t give us an attitude, we didn’t give you a hard time.
We could not find a negative thing to say about our stay at Chateau Victoria. It is a first class hotel. The hotel and rooms are very clean, the service and assistance from the front desk was excellent. The cleaning staff are ready to help at all times. There is a lovely restaurant on the top floor, and a beautiful lounge on the main level. The location is perfect for all the main attractions. A short walk to the parliament buildings. A beautiful Greek restaurant right next to the hotel and lots of other eating spots, museums close by. Loved our stay here and hope to come again!
The front desk staff and bell staff were very helpful and friendly.
Housekeeping was used only once and the garbage was not emptied from under the sink. Also the coffee supplies were not replenished and we had to call to get more coffee pods.
Very clean Hotel.Friendly door men & front reception.
Lobby large & bright with a grand piano.
A Lego replica of the Hotel made by an employee. 62,000 pieces to scale also. Impressive!
Great location, brand new King beds on 6th floor 👍
Large 1 bdr suite & large balcony.Corner unit so extra windows.Nice.Large, bright
We had a great stay at Chateau Victoria, here is why…
We did not have any expectations coming in as we had never stayed downtown victoria before, however, from the minute we pulled up there was staff asking us if we needed help and how they could help. Everyone had smiles on their faces and we genuinely felt welcome. When the morning came we declined housekeeping. Even the housekeepers were so kind and thoughtful and provided us with another towel and nespresso pods.
This is an older hotel but clean and not a chain /brand so no bells or whistles, but, when you have a customer service driven staff like they have here it truly did not matter. The owner should be very proud of their staff.
Also, my daughter was in a cheerleading competition this weekend and just to add to our experience, every time she would leave or come back they would say ‘good luck’ or ‘how did everything go today?’
So wonderful. Little touches
The hotel was so convenient for us to go to our event at the conference center - and we could walk to the maritime museum, miniature world!
Our room was clean and the staff were so good to us when we had troubles with our online reservations. Herb, the valet was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area so we were able to find where we going easily.
The breakfast was amazing and the kids enjoyed their food too - even my picky eater ate well!
The pool and hot tub were also clean and fun for everyone.
We stayed here a few times and it wasn't bad. This time when we checked in we were given a room on the 3rd floor looking out to the top of the glass dome so no view. It was also very smelly like stale cigarettes and very dated, The room was gloomy and dark maybe because of the window blockage. We changed rooms and they gave us one on the 10th floor right in front of the elevators. Again the room was very dated and not nearly as good as the ones we had at previous visits. We are very disappointed and will not stay here again.
great location
great staff
lovely accommodations
The shuttle was so nice to get around in the rain during the day
Restaurants were top-notch!
treated like gold
Glenn Waddingham was absolutely fantastic; what a cool Lego rendition of the hotel he built, too.
Location is great, close to all the shops and restaurants. Room is a great size, good storage amount, everything very clean. Service was also really good, staff was always smiling and ready to help. We loved the bar and the restaurant is also really good. It's a good functional hotel.
BUT: Although the room size was good, the bathroom was tiny. The tub was having draining problems, pooling the water during showers. Our toilet flush also made loud plumbing noises every time someone else in other rooms would use the bathroom, so I had trouble sleeping since the noise would come up constantly during the night. I didn't notify the front desk because it was a really short stay and we were leaving the next day. Decor also felt a bit dated, I believe it needs some refresh. Like I said, it's functional, but lacks in charm. I didn't felt on a holiday.
During our recent trip to Victoria, we were pleasantly surprised by the amazing rooms. The suites were a fantastic bonus, and the nearby restaurants offered great dining options. The atmosphere was fantastic, with great dining within walking distance and a relaxing lounge in the lobby. We’ll definitely be back!
Rooms are clean, but a little dated and slightly musty. Appreciated the windows that open. We stayed in a suite which was quite comfortable. The beds are also very comfortable. In room amenities were good. Staff were lovely. There was no noise coming from within the hotel - being downtown, there was some noice from people on the street, but we could only hear them with the window open. Great value and location! Valet parking was great.
i love the location and the room was very pleasant and clean. The staff are very professional.
I have stayed at many hotels in the area, James Bay and Inner Harbor. This one is the best location for walking to Museum, Inner Harbor, and Downtown. Booking at the Hotel directly the parking was only 10 dollars a day. We stayed in a kitchenette suite/one bedroom, which was like a small apartment. Everything was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I loved the Tyneham products in the bathroom/shower. The kitchen was well equipped, and we enjoyed the Nespresso coffee. The staff were all very friendly, you could tell they loved working there. Check out the incredible Lego replica of the Chateau Victoria created by staff member Glen. We found out many that were staying there were regulars which will be us as well for future stays.
Great location and a nice suite at a good price. The standout here is the incredible hospitality the staff continued to provide during the entire stay.
