Le Petit Chef Dinner @ Hyatt Regency Brisbane
Pros:

Lovely to be in the heart of the city and to be able to step into Queen St Mall. Pool a bonus. The Petit Chef Dinner was a wonderful experience for a special occasion.

Good location, if you can find it. Otherwise ok.
Pros:

Staff were great overall and so nice when i arrived frustrated and angry because…

The hotel concierge is difficult to find in a car, as maps directs you to Queen St Mall.

Actual address is on Burnett Lane, but you can’t turn into it from George St as it is one way, and you can’t turn right into Albert St (which at a glance appears to be a part of Queen St Mall) heading East on Adelaide St.

There is a sign that says “hotel” at Albert & Adelaide, but it doesn’t say the NAME of the hotel.

I spent 20 minutes doing loops of one way streets to find the hotel, but had to stop and call to ask for directions and actual address.

Surely a business like Hyatt could work with maps to get driving directions to work correctly.

Response to others with same issue on trip advisor from April 2025:
“We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when traveling with a vehicle, and we apologize for any confusion caused by GPS directions or the layout of our property, please rest assure that we are actively working on clearer signage and guidance to make arrivals smoother”
and Nov 2024:
“We apologize for the issues you encountered with both the location and service, and we’ll be sure to review your comments with our team to ensure improvements moving forward.”

The ticket stub valet gives you does not have the number to call to get the car, so you have to squint at the room phone to try to work out who to call to get valet to retrieve your car.

$60 a day for valet parking, when there is no option to self park, is outrageous. Highway, back alley robbery. Arrived several times over 4 days (late at night, mind you) only to find no concierge and no signage.

Still, a good location to walk anywhere in the CBD, once you find it.

No “sleep” button among the 40+ buttons on the TV remote.

No way to turn on only the bathroom light, without also turning all lights (7!). A bit jarring in the middle of the night. Why is lighting so difficult? Just give us a bathroom light switch!

No desk, but a circular table, which is awkward for work.

Otherwise, room is fine, if on the small side.
Bed fine. Pillows fine.

Hyatt Wifi “isn’t compatible with iCloud Private relay” FWIW.

Sitting next to the pool and enjoying the quiet morning when loud music started playing. The gurgling sound from the pool drain is very loud Queen St Mall side.

Great Location, Incredible Staff.
Pros:

The hotel is in the Queen Street Mall and therefore convenient to everything. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. As a Globalist, I received an upgrade as well as tasting experiences in lieu of lounge access. There was also a sparkling wine on offer one rainy afternoon. Would definitely stay here again.

Exceptional service
Pros:

We had a really good 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency in Brisbane.

First thing that really stands out, are the amazing staff. They go out of their way to make your experience the best it can be. A special shout-out to the two gentlemen at the back entrance where the taxi's come. They were fantastic!

The pool area is lovely.

We stayed in the Queen Bedroom with City View on the 26th floor. The view was really cool. The bathroom felt luxurious and the bed was good. Airconditioning and Wifi worked well.

We ordered room service a few times and each time, it was delivered quickly and the food all tasted very good. We found the drinks reasonably priced. The food however, a little overpriced for what it is.

It was a bit unfortunate that we were there on Good Friday, when they can only serve alcoholic drinks with a main meal. We know it is just how regulations are, but it was a little annoying.

The only real gripe we had with this hotel, was that the casting of TV shows/Netflix from your devices really does not work well. We wanted to relax and watch a series, but it stopped working at least 6 times during our stay, with multiple devices. The first time, we asked for some help and someone quickly came and fixed it. But we didn't want to keep asking for that.

For the price that you pay, I think you can expect the technology to work properly.

Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay!

Exceptionally clean hotel and friendly helpful service
Pros:

The hotel was exceptionally clean. The staff were extremely friendly. We booked a twin as I was travelling with my sister and it was just a short stay as we had a flight the following day. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was huge.
We used the swimming pool which was great and towels were provided on the loungers and there were extras if needed.
I would definitely stay there again and wished we could have stayed longer.

Nice Hotel... xoxo
Pros:

The Hyatt Regency Brisbane is in a fabulous location if you are a shopper and would like access to restaurants. You walk right onto the mall. In fact you have to drive through the mall into an alleyway if you are driving your car. Valet parking while additional expense was fast & welcoming. Someone was waiting and ready... which I have found is not always the case at some hotels. And important here, as there is very little space to park in the alley.
Rooms while small, are not as compact as NYC or London... they appear upgraded and modern. Everything was clean. Bed comfortable. Television adequately sized!! ;) Hot shower. Brilliant. Enough supplies. Maybe a coffee maker and more counter space for coffee making could be good. Love the openness of the room to the bathroom... not for everyone... but you had the option of viewing yourself on the toilet in a full length mirror... if that takes your fancy... Staff were great when I saw them. Other guests not so great... Breakfast was great. Had options for the Asian flight crew staying there. Kitchen staff offered me a takeaway container when I mentioned I would like my husband to try their mini donuts... and a beautiful staff member brought one out to me.
However, I didn't appreciate the Dining Room Manager sitting everyone close to each other on the tables, when there were so many empty tables. Do they really think people come to stay at the hotel to be close to each other? Particularly when they seated me next to an obviously anxious person... who listened to her phone without earphones or headset, was fidgeting non-stop, and was reading a book titled, "Anxiety - Practical about Panic". Poor kid... Otherwise, pleasant experience. Ambient foyer... Nice hotel.

Great experience
Pros:

Stayed at Hyatt Regency Brisbane recently and overall had a really good experience. The hotel is clean, well located, and everything ran smoothly during my stay.
I also want to highlight that one of the staff members I spoke with was genuinely friendly and easy to deal with, which made a great impression.
The only downside was my check in experience with another staff member. There was some confusion around being placed in an accessible room, which I hadn’t intentionally selected through Booking.com. Instead of helping clarify the situation, I was repeatedly told it was my mistake and to “check more carefully next time,” which came across as dismissive.
It wasn’t a major issue in terms of the room itself. I was happy to stay there but the way it was handled could have been more professional and understanding.
Overall still a positive stay, just some inconsistency in service at the front desk.

Excellent Stay and Great Location
Pros:

Enjoyed a great two-night stay on vacay. For context, we traveled with two large suitcases for a several week trip Down Under. This shaped our view of room sizes and bathroom counter space.

Things we liked:
- Very friendly staff.
- Outstanding breakfast buffet (free to Globalists). All the expected international offerings (we’d guess 60 items), prepared superbly.
- Clean, well-maintained, modern rooms. Upgraded to top floor with a glimpse of the Brisbane River. Rooms are sort of European minimalist/clean lines.
- Great location. Very central in CBD, faces a major pedestrian mall and a block from very large indoor mall and major bus station. City Cat stop is maybe 0.5 miles away, South Bank museum district is under a mile.
- For Globalists, beyond breakfast, they offer an evening cocktail and chef’s tasting plate. Nice size pour on the wine, and the tasting plate is upscale.

Other notes:
- We found the room cozy for our needs, and countertop space lean. Nothing fatal, especially for just a two night stay, yet perhaps smaller than we’ve experienced in other Hyatt Regency stays.
- While not directly about Hyatt, the Brisbane bus is only $.50 to anywhere, including the City Cat river ferries. Don’t need a car in Brisbane…you can get anywhere easily on public transportation, and with the Hyatt’s location, nearly everything is via a direct bus that departs no more than two blocks away.

An excellent Hyatt Regency.

Clean, quiet, right downtown
Pros:

Flying in after traveling for 24+ hours. Got my digital key and went strait to my room. Awesome! Room was clean quiet and well maintained. AC cranked! Shower was good and the staff was helpful and friendly. The location is awesome . Stayed on the 13th floor which was odd as most hotels don’t have a 13th floor.. oh well.. will stay here again.

Great Brisbane hotel.
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at the Brisbane Hyatt Regency. We especially liked the King bedroom. Nice shower, updated room. The only negative would be the mattress was a bit too soft. The hotel location is perfect for exploring Brisbane and steps away from great shopping. What stood out most was an amazing staff. From Housekeeping to the front desk and restaurant/bar staff. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. We hate to call out special people because everyone was so nice but Ansom and Farhat in the restaurant and bar were excellent. We give the hotel 5 stars.

Our experience
Pros:

This hotel is in a great location in the middle of city center. It is in the middle of shops, bakeries, restaurants, and close to the ferry. Across the hotel is a grocery store: Coles. You can walk around the area very easily as everything is walking distance or walk across the bridge where there are museums, ferris wheel, and more restaurants. And if you want to go somewhere further it is easy to get an Uber. It is a busy hotel but the staff are wonderful and accommodating.
The staff at the front lobby are very helpful and the staff at the restaurant is friendly and engaging.

Perfectly Situated Hotel with Good Service and Amenities
Pros:

The location is superb, right on Queen Street Mall, with a great atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the upgrade to a higher floor. The staff were friendly and helpful, and service at both the restaurant and bar was responsive.
Breakfast variety, however, became repetitive during my stay. The pool was great, and it would be even nicer if the bar on the 4th floor could consider extending its opening hours.
