Location to venue was perfect
Outdated, needs remodeled
My stay included a few maintenance hurdles: the AC in my first room failed, and the heat was non-functional in the second. Although I was offered a third move, I declined as I did not wish to pack my belongings again.
Despite these setbacks, the customer service was exceptional. Mrs.
Evania Chapman was incredibly helpful in verifying my stay and assisting with the necessary email forms for my company to complete prior to my arrival. Mr. Darrell provided a very pleasant greeting for my group and me, and both Mr. Robert and Mrs. Kim were equally kind and professional.
The team proactively compensated me with award points and amenities for the inconvenience. Their "guest-first" attitude and dedication to service make me more than willing to give this hotel another chance.
The location
My room phone never worked! We had to tell them on two different occasions b4 they sent someone to look at it, but still never fixed it! I can’t believe you don’t have microwaves in the Marriott!!!!!! Parking garage was entirely too expensive! Ordered food to be delivered to our room, they left our food downstairs, nobody informed us! Our food sat down in the reception area for almost an hr! Our food WAS cold!
Honestly the worst hotel experiance I have ever had. January stay for the volleyball tournament. Front door was broken. Freezing in the lobby. 1hr+ to check-in and we did not get the room reserved. No water our first day in the shower and freezing water the second day when we had water. No one answers the phone, ever! Woke up to pounding and grinding on the roof so I guess we don't need alarm clocks here.
If you want warmth, showers, sleep or customer service, avoid this place! Everyone from our team who stayed at the Hilton next door seemed to be super happy with their stay, the Marriott people not so much!
Front desk does not care becauae they just seem to be so used to poor experiences and the Front Desk Director (Kalin) does not respond to emails (several sent & several reqests for a call). Corperate Marriott customer service does not even seem to care about this property or their loyal customers, when i told them about my stay and just deposited an offensively low amount of points for this experiance considering what we paid.
Checked in March 1. No recognition of Titanium Elite. I booked this property due to no other Marriotts having a suite available, and I should have read prior reviews.
First suite I checked in on the 10th floor absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. I was moved to the 8th floor. The hallway smelled of marajuana coming from rooms.
The lounge offered nothing but soft drinks and a bowl of apples at 8pm. No desserts offered.
Restaurant was edible, but expensive. $150 plus tip for 2 soft drinks and 2 entrees. The appetizer never came, and I forgot to see if we were charged for it; we were so tired.
The bathroom was tiny with no counter space and no fan.
The furniture is dinged up, dated, and uncomfortable.
The TV in the bedroom is too small and has no streaming, just some channels. Our plan on watching a movie in bed couldn’t happen. That was something I haven’t experienced in decades.
The hallway was lined with a broken lamp on the floor, a toilet on a cart in the middle of the hallway, various maintenance items. Crazy and gross.
The location was great the room was clean.
The staffing at front desk and garage attendant.
Location, nice pillows, clean
I didn’t like the lack of communication about the cost. I was kind of told just to insert my card with no display or communication for cost. Also was charged very high on my card but had to ask for a receipt that says my stay was significantly lower than what I was charged. As of now I’m assuming the inflated charge is due to a deposit that I will receive back but again there was no communication about that so I have no idea. It’s just an extra hassle to figure out what I’m being charged for that is unnecessary that needs improving.
Staying at the Marriott Inner Harbor was a major disappointment. I was placed on the 4th floor, and the room was dated, worn, and in desperate need of a serious upgrade. The furniture, fixtures, and overall condition felt decades behind—completely unacceptable for a property carrying the Marriott name. I was in town for a concert at the nearby arena and expected far better.
Despite the prime location, the building itself feels neglected. A hotel under the Marriott umbrella should reflect quality, comfort, and modern standards—this one does not. It honestly feels like the brand name is doing all the work while the property continues to deteriorate.
Save yourself the frustration and go across the street to the Hilton, which offers a far better experience in terms of cleanliness, upkeep, and overall comfort. I wish I could upload a video of the room, but this platform doesn’t allow it—unfortunately, the pictures alone don’t fully capture how bad it was.
This property needs a full renovation, not excuses.
Waited 1 1/2 to check in. Room was dated and old. Staff very nice and helpful, but facility was disappointing. Won’t stay again. Truly not up to the Marriott brand. I’m Platinum status, and the lounge was closed Sunday and Monday!! Unacceptable. The whole experience was awful and we will never come back. I feel sorry for the excellent staff. Marriott needs to update thesis property! It is in a great location, close to the Convention center, but all the teams will now stay at the Hilton next door.
