Location, nice pillows, clean
I didn’t like the lack of communication about the cost. I was kind of told just to insert my card with no display or communication for cost. Also was charged very high on my card but had to ask for a receipt that says my stay was significantly lower than what I was charged. As of now I’m assuming the inflated charge is due to a deposit that I will receive back but again there was no communication about that so I have no idea. It’s just an extra hassle to figure out what I’m being charged for that is unnecessary that needs improving.
Staying at the Marriott Inner Harbor was a major disappointment. I was placed on the 4th floor, and the room was dated, worn, and in desperate need of a serious upgrade. The furniture, fixtures, and overall condition felt decades behind—completely unacceptable for a property carrying the Marriott name. I was in town for a concert at the nearby arena and expected far better.
Despite the prime location, the building itself feels neglected. A hotel under the Marriott umbrella should reflect quality, comfort, and modern standards—this one does not. It honestly feels like the brand name is doing all the work while the property continues to deteriorate.
Save yourself the frustration and go across the street to the Hilton, which offers a far better experience in terms of cleanliness, upkeep, and overall comfort. I wish I could upload a video of the room, but this platform doesn’t allow it—unfortunately, the pictures alone don’t fully capture how bad it was.
This property needs a full renovation, not excuses.
Waited 1 1/2 to check in. Room was dated and old. Staff very nice and helpful, but facility was disappointing. Won’t stay again. Truly not up to the Marriott brand. I’m Platinum status, and the lounge was closed Sunday and Monday!! Unacceptable. The whole experience was awful and we will never come back. I feel sorry for the excellent staff. Marriott needs to update thesis property! It is in a great location, close to the Convention center, but all the teams will now stay at the Hilton next door.
Location
Room Selected at time of reservation was not available at arrival. Bed was small and horrible. A/C was horrible loud.
Totally fouled up my check in Had to wait to get checked in for 2 hours They fouled up my check in via booking.com ... the check in people could care less The hotel is lost No servjce Nobody cared Absolutely awful AC barely worked in lobby Sad
Good
Keys did not work for three times before maintenance determined the batteries in the door were bad. The shampoo and body wash in the shower were empty.
Great staff.
The rooms are out dated and the furniture had stains. There was no mini fridge or microwave inside of the room. There was only 1 communal microwave near the lobby, which I refused to use.
Didn't eat Breakfast. Location is great for what was needed. Stayed here years ago and it was fine. Just needs a giant overhaul. Personally I just retired from the Fire Dept back in Boston so I love being near Steadman Station.
Bathroom alone - sink didn't drain good, water for shower was warm at best and not good for tall people, Toilet was a joke flushing. TV stand was sticky and gross. Damn alarm clock was set and went off and had to unplug to shut it up. Small TV. Family always stays at Marriot Hotels and this place needs help.
It’s very convenient to go see the ravens game. The staff is nice and it’s a very clean hotel.
good
furniture in room was broken, TV stand
We booked the hotel well in advance for the Ravens game in December. We always go to this specific hotel because of its great location to both Camden Yards and The Bank (where the Ravens play ). The past few times we have had some problems, small problems, but problems with a few of the people at the desk. Not thanking us for being a rewards member , not telling us we can use the concierge lounge and when it’s available, etc. The rooms are clean and we never had a serious issue. Through all of this we look forward to seeing Darrell, at the
Concierge lounge. He’s so friendly and helps everyone in that area. If you are looking for something special , this guy can make it happen. Want to know how to get to DC from the hotel, Darrell can tell you . Want to know what’s going on in the area? Yep, he will tell you that . It’s clear to see that everyone who comes in the lounge feel immediately like you are home. We had an issue with the water in our room this trip and had to move to another room. The girl at the desk told us we would have to take a smaller room and give up our suite. We asked for another comparable room and she said no. We paid extra for the large room and although we are always there also paid for the concierge lounge to make sure we get it. Even though we are always there and are members. But , when our room was moved , we no longer had the lounge which we PAID FOR and were given a down graded room. Needless to say we were not happy. Fast forward. We saw Darrell , always the friendly face on the storm! He asked how wee were and we told him . He was shocked that we lost the lounge we paid for and that they down graded us to a much smaller room. He knows we are always there and said there had to be a mistake. Needless to say , he came to our rescue. We got the lounge access and we were back in a suite. I don’t know if we would have ever come back there after the experience of begging the girl at the desk to let us keep a suite and hearing sorry , there’s nothing I can do . Darrell knows so many people and everyone enjoys him. He works hard to please everyone. If you go there , ask for him and he will make you feel at home
