Comfortable Stay, but the Breakfast Experience Was Disappointing

Overall, this is a good-quality hotel with modern facilities and a comfortable atmosphere, but several issues significantly affected our stay.

The biggest disappointment was the breakfast experience. Even when arriving early, there may not be enough seating in the main restaurant if the hotel is hosting events. In that case, guests are directed to a separate overflow dining room with a much more limited selection of food and drinks. The dishes there were not labeled, which was especially problematic for guests with dietary restrictions. It was frustrating not to understand why, despite paying the same rate, some guests received a full breakfast experience while others were offered a noticeably reduced one. This had the biggest negative impact on our stay.

The beds themselves were comfortable, but the bedding and duvets were extremely warm. Even with the air conditioning running, we woke up sweating every morning, which affected the quality of our sleep.

Another surprise was the lack of bathrobes and slippers in the standard rooms. For a 4-star hotel, we would normally expect these amenities.

On the positive side, the fitness center is excellent, and the sauna is spacious and well maintained. There is only one sauna, but it is large enough and never felt crowded. The highlight of the room was definitely the shower — it was modern, powerful, and one of the best hotel showers we have experienced.

Overall, the hotel has many strengths, but the breakfast organization and room comfort details need improvement to match the standards expected from a 4-star property.

Very comfortable stay in a stylish hotel.
Pros:

The room was a really good size, and was stylishly decorated and furnished. It had a good sized bed. There were lots of lamps and sockets. It had a very comfortable and useful easy chair. There was a very useful fridge and tea making facilities (not always the case in German hotels!). There was a bathroom had lovely toiletries and an excellent shower. The breakfast was excellent. It was very near to a station.

Cons:

It was on a main road, and traffic could be heard during the night.

Zimmer und Hotel sehr sauber. Zum Kölner Dom zu Fuß ca 15 Minuten. U-Bahn ca. 4 Minuten. Parkplätze im Hotel für 27€/Tag. Im Umkreis Parkmöglichkeit für 4€/Stunde, max 4 Stunden Parkzeit.
Frühstück sehr gut.

Cons:

Zimmer war etwas dunkel durch den Baum davor. Dafür brannte die Sonne nicht ins Zimmer. Keine Steckdose in Bettnähe, da steckte die Nachtlampe drin.
